So, say that Earth developed differently, in a way in which brightly colored, sentient ponies exist instead of humans. Would theircivilization be like ours? Could that theoretically happen? What if interdimensional travel could exist, would you go there? Would there be a show about humans directed towards children with a huge following?

Would society have developed the same?

 

Als, say that, event wise, society developed the same as us, or at least similarly. What events would have been similar? Would their society have magic? And what if, just what if, you're Ponysona, or maybe just an OC of yours, was your equivilent in that world? Would you want to meet them? How much would you want to? What would you give to do so, and what would you say to them?

If interdimensional travel did exist, I would go there if they had sentient ponies living on the planet and I think society would have developed differently if their Earth developed differently than our own.

It'd probably be different based on what tools could and couldn't be used by ponies. The major difference being opposable thumbs. The majority of the technology we have today i based on the ability humans have to use tools

The thing about the ponies in MLP is that they are anthropomorphized, which means that their society is intentionally based on our own.  In reality, if ponies had become the dominant race instead of humans, the world would be completely different.  They wouldn't use the same kinds of tools we use, build the same kinds of structures (houses, castles, etc.), eat the same sorts of foods (even though they do eat some horse foods in the show, they still also have baked goods, which a hoofed race couldn't realistically manage), or have anything like the same spoken language.

 

It would still be really cool to visit them, though, even if they wouldn't really be anything like what we expected.  It would probably be difficult to communicate with them, but perhaps both our technologies working together could help us to at least achieve the same level of understanding as humans now have with, say, dolphins or gorillas. 

 

Plus, since ponies are herbivores, we wouldn't have to worry about them trying to hurt us, because I can't think of any other reason besides feeding that an intelligent species might capture or harm another unless provoked (they wouldn't need our skin, since they already have fur, and I can't imagine our bones or any other part of us would be very useful, either).  I for one certainly wouldn't be intentionally provoking sentient horses.

I doubt a carnivorous species would be interested in killing us, unless they had a food shortage. I wouldn't same the same for a herbivorous species though, they have a tendency to be paranoid.

Doubt it. Humans still carry many useless (and even harmful) instincts, so unless pony civilization took a ridiculously long time to develop, or they practice eugenics, I think that'll always be a part of them.

I would go there only if everyone there was a technicolor cartoon pony. That could only be the case if one of the alternate universes is created through the figment of our imagination.

No, as good at it would seem, no. I'm not one for change, and I know for sure, they're would be more flaws than there would be benefits.

It's too much of a change, if it was all the same, apart from our appearance, and slightly our way of thinking, then sure, maybe.

A good thing so consider about the pony society is that horses have much stronger immune systems, so it wouldn't be as easy to get sick. But with the thumbs thing, ponies have already evolved around using their mouths, they can juggle with their mouths if they have to! Plus a lot of times I'm the show I see the characters bend their hooves to act as hands so they can hold things. But something I have to ask, what would you look like if you entered their realm?
