movies/tv Ways to Improve Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney Channel

So we all know how the children's networks aren't really as good as they used to be (except for you hub keep up the good work). So I was wondering, how would you improve the three major kids network's? Here's what I do.

Cartoon Network

1. CANCEL ALL LIVE ACTION CONTRADICTORY NETWORK, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE ANNOYING ORANGE!

2. Make Adult Swim its own channel because it's so great, it needs its own channel.

3. Flesh out the network's schedule: They're rerunning the same five shows and constantly repeat them. Do we need to see Johnny Test 8 time a day? NO!

As for original programming, they seem to have more coming up that look somewhat promising.

Nickelodeon

1. CANCEL SPONGEBOB, THAT SHOW IS ALL DRIED UP!

2. CANCEL FAIRLY ODDPARENTS, THAT SHOW JUMPED THE SHARK AGES AGO!

3. Hire more people to make shows: They seem to just be sticking to Dan Schneider to make sitcoms.

4. Make more original shows: Really, Dreamworks shows and washed up shows Nick.

5. FARTS AREN'T FUNNY NICK!

Disney Channel

1. Just stick to mostly cartoon since those come out the best mostly.

  • Get rid of the shows that are not well liked or popular.
  • Give us shows that actually make sense.
  • Get rid of shows that have been dragging on for too long.
  • Stick to what you are good at, and no more bad jokes.

That could be said for Nick and Cartoon Network, not so much Disney.

>Have cartoonnetwork air only ya know, cartoons

>Have disney drop alot of it's live action pseudo-sitcoms. They were ok back in the early 2000s, but no one cares anymore.

>Nick needs new shows, most of its current line up can be traced back to 1999.

Cartoon Network: Less Adventure Time. (There's no live-action in my Cartoon Network thank goodness)

Disney Channel: Get rid of all those horrid, disgraceful live-action sitcoms. A complete embarrassment to the Disney name.

CARTOON NETWORK:

  1. Get rid of every trace of live-action
  2. Make the US channel 24-hours and move Adult Swim to its own channel
  3. Bring back Cartoon Cartoon Fridays
  4. Bring back the checkerboard logo as the full logo
  5. Have more programming blocks
  6. Have a larger range of worldwide animation

So basically a return to the late 90s/early 2000s.

Nickelodeon:

Axe Spongebob already

Axe FOP too

Give all your other shows a chance, quit expecting Spongebob ratings all the time, if they're decent keep it

Quit greenlighting shows with lowbrow humor, throwing in farts and boogers everywhere isn't funny

Bring back cartoons cancelled early with high demand, like Invader Zim, Danny Phantom, and My Life as a Teenage Robot

Make a short block for nostalgic kids on the main channel

Bring back Hey Arnold and make the Jungle Movie

Personal preference, but bring back Catscratch too

Cartoon Network:

Bring back Megas XLR

If your gonna bring back Toonami, actually bring it back, don't just reskin Adult Swim Saturdays. And make it weekly

Bring back all of your other shows cancelled too quickly or with cliffhangers, like Symbionic Titan, Young Justice, Teen Titans, and Samurai Jack

More shows like Steven Universe, less Uncle Grandpa

Kill Annoying Orange

Just fucking kill Johnny Test already, please. Only thing worse than shows getting crappier is crappy shows getting crappier

I'd say get rid of live action, but I haven't seen any traces in a while

Disney:

Actually, it's doing fine, just push for more quality cartoons and less tween sitcoms

Oh and bring back Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes

I completely agree with cancel Johnny Test. How has that crap been going on for almost a decade?

The only thing I must exclude from the list is Spongebob.  Its a pretty good show so i'm alright.  For the rest, God bless you 5 times.......b/c you have made my day.  Especially with Adult Swim.   Its a shame now that most shows are just shows that "kids want to join to be popular and well-known celebrities", but in reality, they suck. BTW, I want to also add Disney XD, b/c to this day I do not understand what convinced the company to move towards Live Action and move away from cartoon, which in truth Disney is "meant" for cartoons.

Stop pandering to one specific target audience.

You know the ones. The types that think shouting "TACOS" and "WAFFLES" out-oudl is funny.

The only thing that pandering has gotten us is terribad shows like Uncle Grandpa, Gumball, and Problem Solverz.

One can argue that they also got us Adventure Time, but that's iffy in quality.

Bring back everything old. Old is Gold.

I actually don't think that's the way to go. They have already had their time and since they've been gone for so long, it will be hard to replicate them. A better idea is to make new shows that are as good as them.

Very difficult thing to do.

Unless they remake those old cartoons.

They need to make a much larger emphasis on quality control.

Sure they mainly expect kids to watch their shows, but you see, kids are actually kinda smart. Even when I was 7 I had what many other people nowadays would consider good taste.

So they need to treat their shows much more maturely. Sure it's a lot easier said than done. But with strict quality guidelines, many writers and producers would take a lot more time and effort into the cartoon, instead of just constantly making the same fart jokes *maddeningly glares at 'Chowder'*

Thankfully they have been cracking down on this recently, but some bad stuff still manages to worm its way through and writhe on our television screens *slaps 'Breadwinners' around the back of the head*.

So if they do that, we can see a significant improvement.

We can just try to ignore the sit coms, because c'mon, Disney will never stop with those... NEVER.

  • Disney Channel;

    - Remove all the goddamn sitcoms!

    - Make more animated shows.

    - Rerun more old shows.

  • Cartoon Network;

    - Again, remove the sitcoms!

    - Rerun a bit more of the oldies.

    - A more balanced program schedule. Why do they show Johnny Test and Ben 10 a gasillion times and Transformers: Prime ONCE?!

  • Nickelodeon;

    - Remove. The fucking. Sitcoms!

Obviously the only true way to improve these networks is to cancel everything currently airing and just air all the cartoons from the 90's.

After all, there were only good cartoons during the 90's and everything today is crap.

Also, stop using flash animation, because it totally doesn't take any skill to use and cannot be a legitimate art form because it's done on a computer.

Get rid of all the "random" humor, because shows from the 90's like Catdog and Ren and Stimpy relied completely on logical, sensible jokes.

Cartoon Network:

1. Having Toonami "back" is great but I am not a night owl so having the old adult swim that used to air on weekday afternoons and having the current version be their "midnight run" would be great. It wouldn't have to air on weekday afternoons, it could air on primetime weekday nights or Saturday mornings but it would still be great to have it back on a time I am actually awake. Or Adult Swim as its own channel as the OP suggested is also something worthy of consideration.

2. Bring back DC Nation lineup, Young Justice and Green Lantern the Animated Series were great shows that were ended way too soon and Beware the Batman had barely any chance at all to take off. And with how vast the DC universe is there are plenty of opportunities to introduce a lot of other great shows to the lineup as well.

3. Stop putting on good shows and cancelling them 2 seconds later. Beware the Batman and Thundercats (2011) are two examples of exactly what I am talking about. Beware the Batman had so much potential but barely got to take off and Thundercats (2011) got canned with no explanation just when it was getting good.

4. Bring back a few of the old shows. I like Boomerang but not everyone gets that channel and a lot of classic cartoons in addition to great original shows are what built Cartoon Network.

5. Bring back What a Cartoon Show. It gave cartoonists an opportunity to get their stuff out there and viewers an opportunity to be exposed to some interesting stuff and gave rise to some great shows that may not have seen the light of day otherwise.

6. Let the creators actually do their jobs, it is a simple concept that allowed Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon to thrive in the past and it can work again now.

Nickelodeon:

1. See 4,5 and 6

2. Get rid of the "teen" sitcoms please, it is all fine and dandy to have them on Teen Nick but all the characters are bland Mary Sue/Gary Stus.

3. Put Spongebob out of it and my misery. It started out good but has really gone downhill and is getting more and more craptacular by the second. I am all for re airing the good episodes but this show really needs to die before it loses anymore of the little dignity it has left. And please Nickelodeon do you guys really need to air Spongebob 24/7, come on guys a show even if it is a good one cannot be the sole focus of a TV network.

4. I like fart jokes and all but most of the time Nickelodeon does them these days just comes off as forced and just a pathetic attempt to get the kids to watch. One of my favorite Nickelodeon cartoons is Ren and Stimpy and it had a ton of that kind of humor but it was done right.
