Meh. It was okay. I liked it, but it's not an episode I'll rush to watch again. It's a shame because I love Granny Smith but for the duration of the episode I just found myself hovering over the video-length bar on Youtube to see how long it had left.

I did have a giggle at Granny smith doing some backstroke though.

Decent episode. The premis was rather different and interesting. The flim flam brothers kind of annoy me though and I thought some of it could have been handled better.

But it's another AJ episode and we definitely need more of those. I Also really liked Granny Smith in this episode so there's that. I'd probably give it a 3.5/5 overall.

Btw does anyone have a screencap of the curative tonic poster with Applejack in it? I thought she looked so adorable in it.

Holy shit! Josh Haber, when did you get so good?

So you wrote Castle-mania, an episode which was fun but lacked substance. Then you wrote Simple Ways, which was funny half the time and painful the other half, so I was expecting just an okay episode out of you, but instead I found what, upon my first impressions at least, seems to be one of the best episodes of the series.

9/10

Pretty good episode I thought, I enjoyed how the key was money earned through dishonestly. Makes you stop and think about how much money is earned through dishonestly in the world.

You can say that again.  Just take a look at the stock market crash and the impact that Wall Street bankers had on the United States.  They paid themselves billions of dollars and the "little guys" took the hit for them.

Also, you're avatar is epic.  I love it!  :D

While I have absolutely nothing against more AJ episodes...

Counting episodes where she has split focus, AJ has had five episodes this season. 5/26 = 20%, which = one out of every five episodes.

In the previous season, she was the only member of the Mane 6 to get a speaking role in every episode.

If I didn't know better, I'd say that Applejack was the main character of the show. She's practically at Season 1 Twilight levels.

Counting episodes where she has split focus, AJ has had six episodes this season. 6/26 = 23%, which almost = one out of every four episodes.

Rarity is still better, though. Just sayin' :D

I'll give credit to the writers for capturing the essence of old-timey snake-oil salesmen - back before the FDA and other agencies that regulated the medical industry, people were basically free to sell whatever they wanted as magic "cure-alls" - no instructions, no dosages, no nothing.  The people who bought into those scams back then were just as gullible as the ponies in Ponyville were here.  Flim and Flam actually executed their parts perfectly, in that they were excellent song-and-dance salesponies who enraptured the crowd enough to convince them to buy their product with the fake proof they offered.

In many ways, Ponyville has been portrayed as being at least partially set back about 100-150 years from modern times (though there are obviously some exceptions to that).  So I don't find it terribly surprising that ponies would lack these sorts of regulations that you and I take for granted.

And, you know, such snake-oil salesmen still exist today - peddling shoddy products that claim to cure large numbers of ailments without need for FDA approval.  So this sort of scam is still alive and well.

Wow, the FDA is so good at it's job in that case.  >_>

On topic, I liked the episode a lot, it's morale was good.

It was an ok episode. I could leave or take it. Athough being a big mac fan girl I was really ok that part of it :D

Flim And Flam's catchy songs make me laugh... I've done a review on my channel if you want my more in depth thoughts.

1. Bats!

2. Pinkie Apple Pie

3. Simple Ways

4. Somepony to Watch Over Me

5. Leap of Faith

.... Hmm, did I forget an episode or something? Don't get me wrong, I'd like to imagine that Applejack had six episodes this season.

I can see how my comment could be misinterpreted.  Keep in mind, when the FDA finds out about those people, they get punished.  That doesn't stop scammers from trying, though.

There are a lot of herbal supplements that say on the label that their claims have not been verified by the FDA.  People still buy them, though.

That means the FDA hasn't certified those supplements, and that it can't officially recommend them to treat illnesses.  That doesn't mean they aren't regulated.  I'm talking about those spam emails you get for Canadian Viagra, etc., that are trying to fly under the radar completely.  Stupid as most of those spams are, there are a distressingly large number of people who take them seriously.

so just finished this one and I was very pleasantly surprised, I was a tad nervous going into this episode, namely I really didn't like the Flim-Flam brothers in their last episode. however this one really went smoothly and was just an overall fun episode to watch I thought.

even the song was ok, which I also didn't think I would like. and of course Apple Bloom was as cute as always!

so my ending review a 9/10, not too bad at all, not my favorite of the season but not bad at all!

Flim and Flam are like, MY ULTRA MEGA FAVORITE VILLAINS IN THE SHOW... I'm glad that they brought them back. Next person, GILDA.... Probably not XD

With the other characters that they have brought back, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Gilda again.  Maybe she will be at the Equestria Games.  The presence of griffons in the "Rainbow Falls" episode might have been foreshadowing her return.

I really dislike Gilda.  She's a grade A snob.  I hope she doesn't come back into the show.  If she does reappear though, I hope she is defeated at the games.  Flim and Flam are pretty irritating too.  Lol.

I didn't really like Trixie or the Flim Flam Brothers as characters in their original episodes.  But I was excited when they returned in new episodes.  Ha Ha.

I liked Trixie.  She was pretty cool if she wasn't such a snob.  >.<

Flim and Flam were just irritating the way they wanted to sell you something allllllllll the time.  It was blatantly obvious they were nothing but a sham but for some reason the other ponies bought into it.  :/
