Do a disproportionate number of bronies come from the south of the States?

yeah, I'm from  Alabama, and I can name at least 4 or 5 members from the South.

It's probably just these forums because most Bronies come from everywhere. Mainly the more populated areas have the most bronies but there are more people living in those areas. Meaning most American Bronies are in the North East and West. Like How I am from the best state in the U.S.  New Jersey! -_-

No, the best state in 'Murica is California.  :derp:

But hey...you have Jersey Shore.  :umad:

I'm kidding, that show's way more horrible.

Back to the topic, when you really think about it, there are a lot of bronies in Europe too, probably more than the US...and some in Asia, too. People ignore that.

Since being on this forum I've noticed that an awful lot of you seem to come from the Bible belt and Texas?

If there are a lot of bronies in Texas, I'm having one hell of a hard time finding them. I mean, I know 3-4 bronies at my school, but that's about it.

Bronies in the US seem to mostly come from The Deep South, Southwest, West Coast, Midwest, New England, Pacific Northwest, The Great Plains, and the Outlying Territories.

Well I'm not sure of the actual statistics, but I'm pretty sure that might be the case.

Keep in mind, the U.S. is a very large country, geographically as well as by population. So however many bronies are "active" at any point in time, a good portion of us are going to be from the States just by the law of averages.

I've noticed the same thing as OP. Most of the people I have been friends with (currently and past-tense) have been from texas/ the south.

Perhaps this is the joke, but doesn't that basically cover all of the US?

On topic, I've actually noticed the exact opposite.  Most of the people that I remember (myself included) are further north.

I'm from Utah now, though I was born and raised in California. I know of at least a couple bronies from Utah, though I suspect there's a lot more that I don't know of course. I just saw the page about B.A.BS. and was kind of sad because I grew up in the Bay Area but am now 900 miles away! No spectacular for me!

I proudly hail from the Central. Back during the U.S. Civil War, we chose not to pick sides between the North's industrial economy or the South's tradition of slavery. We deserved and demanded and did have both, until a combined Union/Confederate force drove us out of our homeland not fifteen minutes later...

THE CENTRAL SHALL RISE AGAIN!

We have an official meetup map here, and from the 300+ members that have placed markers, it seems that while most of them live on the east coast of the United States, the majority of them live in the north. There are also several in the southern California/Los Angeles area. I know it may not be representative of the entire member base, but from what I've gathered, it seems fairly accurate to me. Personally, I live in the south Georgia/north Florida area, and I rarely see any other bronies. Also, two of the major conventions, BronyCon and BabsCon take place in Maryland and California respectively, so I would assume there is probably a high concentration of bronies in those areas.
