Episode with the dumbest complaints

Like the teenage dragons from Dragon Quest who were planning to do the equivalent of an abortion to someone else's baby.

There is a big difference between smashing an already laid* egg and ripping a still alive fetus from a mothers womb. :)

Edit: Laid, not hatched. My mistake.

I've always been bugged by the anger people give when it come's to Applejack's "I didn't learn anything!" line. I never got what the problem was. She DIDN'T learn anything. She WAS right the whole time. But she realized that it was still a good experience/lesson to share with others, so she told Celestia about it in a letter.

Every episode where a character does something bad and some people automatically label the pony as out-of-character and dismiss the episode as crap/bad writing.

For god's sake, not everyone's perfect–– if somepony does something that gets under your skin... maybe it was part of their character, y'know? A flawless character a good episode does not make.

I will say I'm probably more forgiving towards OOC moments than others, simply because I don't see the characters as being forced to live up to their elements 100% of the time, there can be times where they, or any fictional character, does something not consistent with who they are, but there needs to be good reason in order for it to work. People aren't perfect, like you said, they sometimes mess up, and they understand that they sometimes need to go against their elements when necessary.

You can't live your life like a Deontologist, blinding following a moral code with zero compromise, people die due to such a mindset, because sometimes doing the right thing involves doing something that would, in another situation, be the wrong thing.

All that said, there are legitimate moments where a character is inconsistent for no good reason, if they're written to have overcome being a doormat (like Fluttershy) and then go back to being a doormat with no explanation, that's unacceptable.

Pretty much any episode from season 3 onward has some ridiculously absurd criticism lodged against it.

Specifically, I think of Wonderbolt's Accedemy.  I've heard some people complain about it because Lauren Faust never meant for the Woderbolts to be a military unit.

I once saw a person who hated May the Best Pet Win because it somehow promoted rape culture

post-6532-0-82492300-1357201249.jpg

"Magical Mystery Cure" definitely had some dumb complaints, chiefly the ascension of Twilight Sparkle into an alicorn princess, then bombast Hasbro for the choice, but selling toys is a part of what it does, and yes, the episode has some problems, but they are weighted by the good that is in the episode, I only wish some bronies would stop complaining, for that has been done to death, now it is coming off as whining, but for those who enjoyed this episode, you have my respect.

The only legit problem I can think of with that is a lack of buildup, which was due to how short the season was.  With more time to build it up, it could have been a lot better, but that's just a nitpick at this point.

Rarity Takes Manehattan/Suited for Success forced Rarity's generosity.

This is usually coming from the same people who complain she isn't generous.

Also, when people say Rarity stole the Fire Ruby from Spike in "Secret of My Excess"

Don't you know anything?  Rarity is a horrible, uncaring bitch and any episode that expresses her otherwise obviously has her out of character.

Internet-Troll.jpg

I got annoyed when I heard a complaint about Leap of Faith "retconning" the brothers into con-men. I was just like: "Hey guys, um you know flim-flam is a synonym for swindle, right?"

Don't cloud the issue with logic!

Do I need to bring up "Feeling Pinkie Keen" for the 100th time?

You don't notice the endless bitching and complaining about everything, that's been steadily rising since the S2 finale? :P Where are your glasses, my friend :D

Well yes, I've noticed an increase in complaints (I'm part of it), but from what I see in polls on each episode's thread here, most people like every episode lately. I've heard that people who have a complaint a video game tend to post more on the video game's forums than those who are enjoying it, maybe it applies to tv shows as well.

I enjoy good nitpick when it's all in good fun, but there comes a point when people get so hilariously upset over some things that you kind of have to shake your head and go, "Bro, it's a cartoon about talking horses. I think you'll survive."

I get upset over serious logical flaws in a story, they can ruin the episode, show, movie, or novel entirely for me, cause my suspension of disbelief is shattered. But I don't go "AHGASGFGSDSHSUOFSLFSDWSJHFSGBKF<SKJHHGFSGFS" ragemode. Sure, it bothers me if a story I got really invested in runs into a plot whole that ruins it, but than I just go "oh well, dust in the wind" and move on to another tale. Tho at this point I refuse to spend money on a story due to the last novel series I got invested in going to shit thanks to a massive plot hole (60-70 bucks down the drain, cuz the other books prior to the one with the hole are ruining by association), which is sad, but whatever. Fortunately it costs me nothing but a bit of internet usage to watch MLP.

The "Gilda = good, Pinkie = bad" crowd...

They keep forgetting that Gilda stole, risked Granny Smith's health, and reinforced Fluttershy's... um... "agoraphobia," while Pinkie's "revenge" was just a party meant to make Gilda have a Heel Face Turn.

Well the show has had a problem with showing griffons (the one LONE example) and other dragons (dragon quest) in a positive light. It would be nice at some point if they get to show that at some point. Until then there's fannon. I don't mind that Gilda has a firey temper or dragons can be greedy or agressive, Llike Klingons in Star Trek they don't necessarily act the same as other races or hold the same values. That doesn't mean they have to be painted as "bad" although some will claim that.

I have made brony music since 2011. I like all kinds of music and genres. I'm sure you'll like some of it..

Here's My YouTube..I have several albums on Bandcamp and Pony.FM.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but that one infamous episode where Derpy had a speaking role, and ppl thought they were making fun of disabled people. I have autism, but I love the Derpy character (although I did prefer her new voice)

Although, the red dragon in Dragonshy was actually portrayed semi-positively, and the mere presence of a (seemingly) neutral griffon team in Rainbow Falls was a step in the right direction.

What do you mean by gimmicky songs?

I mean that the songs didn't really add much to the episode, and ended up wasting time that could have been used to better explore each pony's problem. I can't even remember what a single one of them sounded like.

Overall, I feel like the show has been saturated with songs. Everyone has "Winter Wrap Up" and "Art of the Dress" memorized because the first season didn't have many songs, but when they use a song in every other episode, it doesn't feel as special.

Back on topic, I have heard some people criticize Lesson Zero for being nothing but a series of brony inside jokes, while ignoring that the episode DOES have a solid plot, and that it needs to exist in order to justify the other characters writing letters to Celestia from now on.

I hate it when people hate on an episode just because it stars a character they don't like.

Yes, I have literally seen people do this.

I mean, I don't really care for Rainbow Dash that much but I still thought some of her episodes were great (I.E. Read it and Weep)

Sure, I hate Trixie, but I actually have REASONS for hating Boast Busters and finding Magic Duel average.

You can't hate an episode because Diamond Tiara is in it, because then she wins.  And you can't let Diamond Tiara win.

personally, I watch it for best pony myself as well, but to the fandom the intro was important, and in my opinion, the name they gave ditzy, is just... Disgusting to me, having been bullied most all my school life I've come to hate names that insult ones intelligence, such as "derp"

Derpy's definition from Urban Dictionary:

"Awkward or embarrassing, especially pertaining to a person."

It just refers to her awkward/clumsy nature not her intelligence, though it has been used as a synonym for mental retardation thanks to its ugly, step-sister term, derptard.

I know, that's why I pointed out the negative connotation that the site didn't.  :)

I'm still puzzled by the whole "knocking Rarity for upstaging Sweetie Belle in 'For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils'" thing.

All she did was try to make the costumes as good as possible, in spite of doing so for free and taking time out of her very, very busy schedule to do so.  So... she was not supposed to make them look as good as possible?  I mean, what kind of message would that be?  If you want to help someone, just half ass it so you don't upstage them?
