movies/tv Legend of Korra- to watch or not to watch?

I used to watch the original Avatar quite a bit with my brother and sister, yet I didn't really enjoy it to the extent they did. However, a friend of mine told me I should really watch the Legend of Korra, with him saying it pretty much fixed everything wrong with the original. So what I want to know is it worth watching?

Gotta learn stuff through denial and error.

It's definitely worth watching, it's still one of Nick's best shows. Though imo, it's not as good as the original

Eh, I've watched a little bit of the show, but haven't been following it that well. It was kind of a bore from what I saw.

There was something wrong with Avatar: The Last Airbender?

What is the Legend of Korra? I've heard the name before. A brief description would be nice. :)

It's the sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender, one of the best shows on Nickelodeon

The Legend of Korra is a sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender. The show focuses on Korra, who is the current Avatar as the successor to Aang. At the beginning of the series, she moves from the South Pole to Republic City to start learning Airbending under Tenzin, Aang's son.

The Avatar Wiki has more information on how the story progresses if your interested.

I only saw the first episode of two from LoK, and I was kind of bored with it. I LOVE A:TLA, and my friend that got me into it has watched LoK and he told me I need to watch a few more because he also thought it was kind of weird at first, but it grew on him. We have a lot of common interests so I'm gonna start watching it over this summer.

I think the Legend of Korra is definitely worth a watch. :)

I enjoy the show a lot myself. I can't wait for Book 3 to come out. (There is going to be a book 3, right? I hope so.)

OMG I just finished the first two books of Korra!! I freaking love it!! The soundtrack is better IMO. Book 2 was super-freaking amazing! Except for some parts made me depressed, but I won't say what so I don't ruin it for anyone. Book 3 is scheduled for this fall 2014.

To be honest I felt disapointed with LoK through the first season and stopped watching it the second season, I don't know why exactly, maybe because I loved Avatar: The Last Airbender too much, but that doesn't mean it's not worth a show to watch. Give it a shot and then decide for yourself whatever you like it or not, only you can decide that in the end. n__n

Although I did enjoy the original more, Legend of Korra really did a great job sticking to the original style of the series. It was difficult adjusting to the different characters, but it's just as deep and full of action. It's worth the watch.

Well, I loved Aang's story a freaking lot as well. I think the story structure is just different. Aang's 3 books were all built to lead up to the finale of book 3. Korra's first two books seem to have somewhat separate stories, each finding resolution at the end. Maybe season 3 will show how the two are more connected than we think? But really, you need to watch season 2, I loved it!!

DO watch it, however, I think loyal fans to the A:TLA show will enjoy it the most since they'll catch all the references. While I think, A:TLA is better, I like watching TLOK because watching it is as relaxing as its predecessor was.

Oh, and if you watch it, you'll love these guys. Just saying.

Definitely try it for yourself. A lot of people aren't exactly happy with the way it tried to expand the universe post-Aang and I'm among them, I just think it's a bit clunky. A good story, but not capturing the same things for me that the original series did. So I haven't updated on the second season and probably won't for some time. But you can't know that for yourself, you might have a different opinion and like it much more.

Well I'm considering it after watching the epic fight scene between Korra and the dark spirit, but my friend told me almost everything about the series (I prob asked) and I spoiled the ending for myself. *way to go SweetieBelle456*.

It's steam punk style, of course it's clunky! haha The steam punk style of it is actually what really put me off about it at first because I've never really thought that trend was very cool or exciting.

I thought it was interesting that they just decided to skip the other 3 elements, but it's nice having a slightly more mature avatar (skill-wise, she's not all that mature in her responsibilities yet). It's a different avatar, and so the story has to be told differently. I kind of wish we'd have gotten to see more of Aang's experiences as the fully-trained Avatar. I mean, we get some insights to his accomplishments and battles, but we never got to see them straight.

Doh!! Never do that unless you know for absolute fact you're never gonna watch something!! haha

Exactly, but no no no no, I just had to spoil it. I don't know if you've watched Frozen or like it, but please don't spoil it for yourself .. That kind of ruined the cinema experience. *dishonor upon my fangirling pride* xD

I didn't need to spoil Frozen for myself...EVERYPONY ELSE DID IT FOR ME!! Needless to say, I was sick of "Let it Go" before I even saw the movie...but I concur with your choice of avatar pictures...Anna is my favorite character from Frozen. Elsa bugs the buck outta me!

I actually haven't gotten around watching the Korra sequel series either. Is it really that good compared to The Last Airbender? I never really got a solid response on that subject. The characters seem intriguing though. You should probably see it. Who knows if you'll like it or regret it later. :P
