gaming What are your thoughts on Elder Scrolls Online?

MMO and Elder Scrolls do not mix. ESO is more like Skyrim on a low budget at the same price. So yes, it's overpriced.

I have not played it, but from what I have seen and heard... its not very good

Skyrim however, is an amazing game.

If you like skyrim you will probably like this.  Assuming you actually read some of the quests instead of pushing past it all, it is very much elder scrolls.  I am only 26th right now, and have been playing it fairly slowly, but it gets the feel down.  The whole morality curve is the same (How well you do is often dictated by how many morals you are willing to ditch for personal gain).

Yes there have been some annoyances and bugs but they do not overcome what I have seen of the game thusfar.

I already summed up what I think of the game here, but for those of you too lazy to click the link I'll copy it here.

TESO lacks both content and substance, and while I've only played the beta, I got bored of it VERY quickly and ended up only playing the first day of each three-day beta session and didn't even participate in the last few beta events. It has potential, I could see a game that would be worth the asking price while playing, but the story just doesn't work out right (sorry Bethesda/Zenimax, the whole "chosen one" thing doesn't work when there's thousands of other "chosen ones" walking around everywhere too), combat is shallow and only amounts to rapidly pressing the left mouse button, the first-person POV is there but seems half-assedly implemented with a limited field of view compared to third-person and while the game's movement controls are mapped to WASD instead of the mouse pointer, thus making it a bit more like a traditional Elder Scrolls game, it just doesn't... feel like you're playing an Elder Scrolls game, it just doesn't feel right. Another thing wrong is that chests were, once again, designed with one person in mind - they do not respawn or spawn for multiple people and once it's been looted, it's completely empty and nobody else can take its contents. One good thing I guess is that it actually supports mods - but when you need to improve certain aspects of an online game instead of just simply installing aesthetic mods like alternate skins or models for weapons, you know there's something wrong.

Is it worth the asking price of $60 plus the additional $15/m subscription? No. Is it worth that on top of your Xbox Live Gold subscription if you want it on the Xbox One?NO. So do not worry much about the delay if you're on a console - you're just missing out on a very half-assed MMO. In fact, I'd suggest taking your money elsewhere. The game is okay at best, but okay is not good enough when you're asking for $180 a year.
