Ponies too Human looking?

I like the way they look, especially the expressive faces.

 

One thing that does kind of bug me is that they move much more human than they did in the beginning. For example in an early episode they held cups in their mouths, now they always hold them in their hooves.

The cartoon is a cartoon so some of it is just meant to be silly animations...but speaking from the aspect of the toys, the ponies actually look more deer like to me, or at least that is what I thought when the toys were first introduced. Something about the head shape comes across as deerish to me.
