Secret Wars OOC

It was a foggy and dreary day. The city was quiet this early in the morning; at least where Professor Allrich stood. He stood nervously, swaying back and forth on the balls of his feet trying to figure out why he was so nervous in the first place. He was alone, standing by a tall torn chain-link fence. Allrich jumped when dogs barked in the distance, he had been deep in thought; wondering when his new students would arrive.

You received a small card in the mail with a date, time and location. Nothing else is on the card. For those who were a distance away, they also received plane tickets arranged and paid for.

Having just lost his job a few days prior, Nicholas didn't really have anything keeping him in New York anymore. When he got the tickets, he figured he could do worse than a change of scenery. He didn't like the city much to begin with anyway. So he just went with it.

After a long flight and a cab ride from the airport, he arrived in front of what was to be his new home. Not really sure what to do from here, he ended up just standing there waiting for something to happen.

Sekel calmly slept in the hot desert sun, trying to not think about anything. He sat up as he heard footsteps in the sand. Turning, he lifted his hood a bit to see one of his miner friends walking up to him.

"Mail. If it's about that school you've been talking about, I can take you to the airport." He said. He handed Sekel the letter and waited for him to read it. His eyes widened when he read that it was indeed about the school. In Germany!?

"Appears I'm going to Germany mate. Thanks for driving me to the airport Richard." Sekel sighed and walked over to the rusty Holden ute that was parked a fair distance away on the main road.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sekel got out of a cab and looked at the apparent school. "What the? It's just a mansion! How can they have a school here?" Sekel wondered aloud. He was still wearing his black and yellow hoody. He hadn't taken the hood off, not even when he was in the plane. He just doesn't want anyone to see his face.

Amber walked to the post office to collect her mail. For safety's sake, the teenager used a post box number for any letters she might receive. At the moment, she lived in a hostel and rarely spoke to anyone as she always feared the long arm of the law catching up with her after what had happened with the school. She still shivered to think of it, and felt that from then on, she lived on a knife edge fearing punishment. It hadn't been her fault. But no-one who didn't have powers could ever understand that. The post box was best, but it did mean that she had to collect her mail in person at the post office, which meant she had to go out and risk discovery. But today's mail had been very different from the usual fliers and junk she got. Two tickets to a school in Germany. Amber felt it was fate, getting these tickets, and gladly jumped at the chance to leave the country.

At the airport, she still avoided talking to people and hid her vividly coloured hair under a hood as she got on the plane. The journey was long and she didn't sleep, due to people talking around her. Amber tried to calm herself down, knowing that if she got stressed, her powers might slip out and it would mean the deaths of everyone else on the plane. Eventually, the plane landed and she took a taxi to the address on the card that had been sent with the tickets. There it was. A mansion house, bigger than any she'd seen before. Were there others here, too? Amber didn't know. She stood outside and waited for others to arrive, as she didn't quite dare to enter the house by herself.

Ravek was an idiot, she was a total and complete idiot and that was the only thing going through her head currently.
As soon as her Mother had opened up her letter, and screamed a little that Ravek got to Germany, she had started packing for her daughter and Ravek could only watch and pack her carry on bag.
In which she was meant to have packed her medication, and forgot.

Though she didn't have an episode when on the plane, nor when she was on the ground in airports and having to talk to people. But she was exceptionally nervous that something would happen.

And when the cab arrived at the mansion that was meant to be school, she could see a couple more cabs and other people around the gates. Her first thought when seeing the place though was that it must have been a private school, because no public school would ever get a mansion for it's grounds.
The Cabbie helped her get her stuff from the boot, and then after a quick exchange he left and she was left alone at the front of the school with some others waiting around.

Petria stepped out of the car with his bag over his shoulder. Waving his cab off, he looked over the building. A mansion? Odd, maybe he had the wrong address...checking the card, he realized he didnt. This was the place.

Noticing the other students, he began to approach the one wearing the yellow striped hoodie. He spoke in the broken German he had picked up.

''Hallo, weit ich leher?'*

-------

*Roughly 'Hello, where is [the] teacher?'

Sekel looked at the student that approached him. He didn't take his hood off but he still looked at the ground and replied, "Hallo. Ich nucht gut Deutsch sprechen.*" Sekel said roughly, still trying to get used to the German vowels and consonants. He had learnt very little German on the plane and this was the only phrase he had actually bothered learning.

*Roughly translates to "Hello, I don't speak German."

One of the large mansion doors swung open slowly. Inside, a maid looked at them with one hand still on the handle. She looked like any other maid; except for the firearm she kept holstered on her waist.

"Welcome." she stated, staring at them beneath blonde bangs. "Can I see your passes?" she asked sternly.

Petria turned to speak back but was interrupted by the maid coming out. He turned his attention to her. Hearing her request, he dug through his bags. Clothes, a water bottle, and a phone...the usual. He grabbed the pass and held it out. She seemed to be rather impatient and stern. He wouldnt have any problems with her, or the not-German speaking fellow, or he hoped.

Nicholas took out his pass and presented it, hoping he wasn't doing anything wrong somehow. The firearm she was carrying, combined with her stern demeanor, was making him quite nervous. Of course, he would probably be nervous anyway. He wasn't too good at dealing with strangers.

Sekel sighed in relief as he realised he didn't have to speak any more German. For the moment. He saw the door open and when the maid asked for their passes, he went over to his small suitcase and dug through it. After not seeing it there, he then took his green backpack off and searched for it through that. He held it out for her to inspect and noticed a tiny sizzling hole in his pass. Must have accidentally put a hole through it with his plasma bolts.

@@RunsWithSquirlz,
Raek waited till a few people showed their pass before she actually had hers and showed it to the blonde woman at the door.
The shotgun detail didn't go amiss, but Ravek didn't really mind guns. She had grown up with them, practically living at the range with her father for about 7 years, though the idea that she would actually need a shotgun was a little concerning.

@@Delernil,

She took the card from his hand and inspected it; flicking it in the rays of the early morning sun. "You're good to go" she handed it back to him.

@@Alex Kennedy,

She smiled at him and took his pass "No need to be nervous, I'm just here to protect you."

@,

She carefully took the pass from Sekel, momentarily sticking her pinky through the hole before inspecting it.

@,

She took the pass from Ravek and inspected it like she had done with the others.

After handing them back their passes, she stepped aside "You four may proceed. Please wait in the parlor, the Professor is running late."

Sekel took his pass back and put it in his backpack. He thought it was kind of funny that the maid stuck her pinkie in the hole he accidentally sizzled into his pass. "The parlour ...? No idea where that is." Sekel shrugged and rbbed the back of his hood. He then fixed it up so that it covered the upper half of his face. The lower half of his face had a bit of black stubble going on.

@@RunsWithSquirlz,
Ravek smiled at the woman when she gave back her pass, and she placed it back in her satchel before she went through the doors.
She knew what a parlour was, and there wasn't much of a surprise that there was one in a place like this, but Ravek heard someone say something behind her about something to do with the parlour.
@,
"This way I think."

Sekel smiled and slung his backpack over his shoulder. "Cheers, sheila. What's your name?" Sekel asked as he caught up to her. He knew what parlour was, he just didn't know where one would be. He may as well get to know at least one of the students here and she happened to be the only one he could speak fluently with. So far.

@,
Ravek smiled when she heard his accent, and of course his choice of words. Another Aussie! She was so glad that she wasn't the only one from the dangerous place of Australia.
She had a little accent, though she piled on a slightly thicker one to show that she was an aussie too.
"Ravek mate, Ravek Johnson. What about you?"

Sekel's grin grew wider as he heard her accent. His grin seemed kind of creepy, considering his upper face is concealed. "Another Aussie? Didn't think there'd be one coming here. The name's Sekel Fortif. Pleasure to meet you. Whereabouts Australia are you from sheila?" Sekel asked her. He didn't notice his accent was that thick until he heard the maid talk earlier.

Ravek returned Sekel's grin, he did seem a little creepy since he was a little older than her, but meeting someone who she could probably understand was a tad bit more important. She only knew a small amount of german anyway.
"I'm from Perth, on the west side of course, and I had no clue that someone else from Australia would be coming, I'm happy to know that there's at least one person that I don't have to talk german with."

Dan looked at the letter addressed to him. He never got mail so This was weird in multiple ways. He put all the other mail to the side and opened it. As he read the letter, Dan had a face of increasing disbelief. Could there be others like him? What would happen if he went to this place? Would he be safe? Questions shot off like bullets in his head. In the end, he decided it was worth a shot. Now to convince his parents.

.........................

Dan arrived at his destination, seeing other people at the gate. His dad had some connections in the country so he pulled up in a limo. It wasn't Dan's idea though but his father was one who always wanted the best for him, so Dan didn't argue with him. As the limo pulled up, he told the driver to be ready then got out to see what was going on.

Sekel toned down his smile to just a regular one. "I hear you. The only phrase I learned was saying that I don't speak German." Sekel chuckled. He looked around and tried to figure out where they were. "You do know where the parlour is, don't you?" Sekel asked her. He doesn't have a clue where the front door is, let alone a room in the mansion!

@,
Ravek smiled again, it was nice being with another aussie for once, though she felt a small episode coming along, she really should have remembered her medication. Maybe she could ask the principal or something to go to the chemist and get some new ones.
Though, possibly getting to the parlour where the principal was would be a good idea.
"This way mate."
Ravek then walked over to an open door, actually it was a double door that was open, and a nice little room was easily seen through the open doors.

The parlour was before them and at the end of the room was another set of large double-doors that were closed. The parlour had a few couches and a love seat. Tea sat waiting on a tray on the coffee table in the middle, steam still rising from the pot.

@

The maid raised her eyebrow at the only attendant to use a limo. When he got out she called out "Do you have a pass?"

@

The maid looked at him, crossing her arms "Show me your pass and I'll let you in." She held out her hand.

Jackson got off the train from Hamburg to Berlin. The station was bustling of people going about their business. He had gotten the letter a few days before back in the US. While it seemed a bit ominous he went anyway. He had gotten a flight from Atlanta to Hamburg. He stepped out into the city outside.

"Taxi!" Jack flagged down one of the many white, Volkswagen taxi cabs.

Jack stood in front of the mansion.

"This is it" He said to himself as he double checked the address on the nearly blank card save an address, time, and place.

(In German) "Anyone home?" He knocked the large, old door. His speaking were nearly flawless from living in Germany years before this but he still had a thick American accent.

"Seems like this is the place." Sekel said uncertainly. He saw that the room was empty but there was a still-steaming teapot sitting on a table in the middle of the room. He took his backpack off and sat down on of the couches. "Apparently this school is to help kids with gifts. What sort of gifts do you have?" Sekel asked Ravek bluntly.
