Ways to beat Tirek

Behold:

 

Option 1: Teleport into the sun.

Option 2: Seal within an object, toss object into space/A black hole.

Option 3: Use magic to create a Black Hole, THEN push him into it.

Option 4: Poison darts filled with Poison Joke. It takes away the user's greatest strength in a usually-semi-funny way, so let's see what it takes away from him.

Option 5: Aerosol-dispersed Poison Joke gas grenades.

Option 6: Many, many non-magical cannons and fireworks aimed at vital areas.

Option 7: Levitate up large, heavy object, possibly an island. Hold above his head. Stop the levitation spell, and drop upon his head.

Option 8: Kill it with fire!

Option 9: Seal within another dimension. Let's see what Tirek can do in a dimension where everything is a non-magical octagon.

Option 10: Have a team of trained Pegasi, possibly the Wonderbolts and Shadowbolts, push him up as high into the atmosphere as possible. Icing problem! If that doesn't work, push him into space if possible, have him be some other planet's problem.

I don't think poisoning him would really work, I think he could probably heal himself.

Pretend for a minute that the Rainbow Power and keys were never a part of season 4. How else do you think the mane 6 could have defeated Tirek?

That is a hard question. Tirek was stealing other unicorns' magic. The princesses (who all have very powerful magic, as opposed with ordinary unicorns who have relatively weak magic) transferred their magic to Twilight. So, even though Tirek stole a lot of weak magic, Twilight had some very powerful magic. It balances out as you can see they are relatively equal in terms of strength.

 

Now, if Twilight did not surrender to Tirek and kept fighting, I believe she could have won. However, since Tirek captured her friends and she agreed to surrender her magic to him, then, if the Rainbow Power never existed, I just do not see how she could have turned this situation around.

 

So, "I don't know" is my answer....

As I can see it, it would have meant sacrificing her friends, since Tirek had captured them as boiteporte mentioned. With all the alicorn magic in Equestria, it seems likely that Twilight would (or at least could) have won eventually, but Tirek wouldn't just let her friends go if she hadn't surrendered.

Short of dropping the moon on him, I can't think of a way they could have won. Tirek is a magical vampire for lack of better term and Equestria and possibly the entire Pony race is so reliant on magic that they were unable to put up any kind of resistance. The only reason he was stopped the first time was because he was tricked by Scorpan and likely led into a trap. Lord only knows what would have happened if he had gotten his hands on the Tree of Harmony.

 

Actually, now that I think about it, Tirek's greatest strength was possibly also his only strength, I personally think if Twilight had kept going she would have kicked his ass, but that would have likely resulted in Equestria having a lot more craters in it. The only reason he offered her a sadistic choice between her friends and all the Alicorn magic she possessed was because Tirek had barely had to lift a finger to win by that point and in a 1-on-1 with someone on even footing as him I can't see him coming out on top no matter buffed up he was from all the stolen magic.

Capture him BEFORE he gets powerful. Easiest plan. 

 

 

Or they could've just used the elements of harmony to defeat him?

By doing a prior search, you should be able to see if your topic of discussion already has a dedicated thread, thereby limiting your chance of posting duplicate content.

Well you can always try one of these. I am sure those armor piecing shells that weigh a ton should kill him.

 

 

If not you can use one of these. He would die but you may end up killing a ton of ponies in the process and possibly making parts of equestria uninhabitable.
