Bands You Think Are Underrated

The Protomen. I'm positive that the only people that listen to them are Megaman fans, even though they mostly make original music, and great ones at that

Owl City!!!! Adam Young is my favorite musical artist (non MLP related) of all time, and his stuff is really cool! He did get popular with his song 'Fireflies' back in 2009, as well as 'Good Time' in 2012, but I still feel he is underappreciated (although he is definitely starting to get a larger and larger fanbase at the moment... all of us 'hootowls' have to stick together, haha).

My favourite bands DEVO and Krafwerk.

How can people not know Kraftwerk i'll never understand, these guys invented Electronic.

And the only song people think of for DEVO is Whip It even though DEVO has a million more way better songs.

The first band that comes to mind is Pain. I mean, they were a freaking punk band with a BRASS SECTION. My favorite thing about them is the lyrics. Almost all of their songs tell some kind of story.

This is one of my favorites. The song starts around 30 seconds

Most people will recognize them from the "Cartoon Network Groovies"

"The Earth speaks to all of us, and if we listen, we can understand." -Uncle Pom

"Sometimes she wonders if she can do it like nuns do it but she never heard of Catholic religion or sinner's redemption" -K Dot

Hmm, at the moment I have three in mind:

Death From Above 1979 - Punk/Noise Rock. Most people only know them from the opening to Human Giant, but the entire You're a Woman, I'm a Machine album is amazing.

The Deadly Syndrome - Indie/Alternative Rock. I first heard them in the movie World's Greatest Dad (which is also worth checking out) and they have become one of my favorite bands. My favorite thing about them is probably the melodies that they come up with, both singing and instrumental.

Men Without Hats - New Wave/Folk. Honestly my favorite New Wave band of all time. It makes me sad that people only know Safety Dance and think they're a one hit wonder when they have so many other amazing songs. Especially some of their more folk influenced stuff.

*pops up from the middle of nowhere in total Pinkie Pie fashion*

Did somebody say BRASS SECTION?!

That's interesting actually, I've never heard of them, and they seem to be separate from the Ska movement. Although I can't say they sound much different to me. Still, it's nice to see because nowadays it seems like "brass" sections are [in regards to pop music] mostly only tied to 'Ska' bands, and aside from maybe a couple of 'Ska' bands, I'm not a huge fan of the genre. I want to be, because I love the instrumentation.

I guess I just long for a modern 'Brass Rock' band. No punk, no ska/punk, just rock (and a little Jazz, of course!).

Now far ahead the road has gone,
And I must follow if I can.”
