We all have at least one song that we like by a band that we despise, so what are yours?

Personally mines Fever - Bullet For My Valentine.

Oddly, I have this relationship with Avenged Sevenfold where I dislike the type of music they do(mostly in the lyrics department) but really like a handful of their songs:

Save Me

Fiction

Dangerline

So Far Away

Dear God

Gunslinger

Warmness on the Soul

I'll have to agree with NomDeSpite. Generally Aerosmith's library is very annoying to me. 'Dream On' is an okay song, but practically everything else by them drives me up a wall.

Anyway, actually kind of hard for me to give an answer here. There are hardly any bands I hate, but there are bands I generally am annoyed by but absolutely love one or two songs by:

Led Zeppelin - I only really like 'Stairway To Heaven'. It's such a different song from anything else they made. There are a couple of other songs I listen to by them, but I don't love them anywhere near as much, and I find most of what they play on the radio by the band to be grating.

Journey - Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) is an awesome song, but otherwise the band is annoying and overplayed.

Simon and Garfunkel - I have not extensively listened to them, but as far as what gets played on the radio the only song I like by them (and by extension Paul Simon's solo career) is 'The Boxer'.

John Melloncamp - 'Cherry Bomb' is a decent song, but everything else by this man is just - I can't even sugar coat it - awful.

Post-70s Chicago - I'm stretching it by posting this, I'm sure, as 60s/70s Chicago is actually my favorite band, but after that they were a casualty of going through the 80s. Nevertheless I have a live version of "Hard Habit to Break" that I can say I actually enjoy listening to. Although it's still not the same.

I agree with Envy regarding Stairway to Heaven and Separate Ways. I also dislike Aerosmith for the most part, but I like Dream On, Dude and Sweet Emotion. Also, Running Down a Dream by Tom Petty and Hot for Teacher by Van Halen. I think there might be a Def Leppard song I don't hate, but I haven't found it yet.

Although, out of those artists, the only ones I actually hate are Tom Petty and Def Leppard. The rest I just don't like much.

Most rappers have only one or two songs I like.

One More Night by New Maroon 5. I say new Maroon 5 because back in the day, they were actually pretty respectable. But ever since Payphone, they've been quite possibly the shittiest band on the radio, which Love Somebody snatching the gold for one of the worst songs I've had to sit through in a good long while. But among their recent frontal assault on the human ear canal, the song One More Night actually stands out as being something I can dig listening to. It's very much in the style of their old stuff, without relying too heavily on the familiar to sell itself. It's got a great beat, great flow, and a decent vocal performance.

Aside of that, there's very few bands out there I dislike, but as for solo artists:

Talk Dirty by Jason Derullo. He is one of the laziest artists on the modern R+B scene, with songs ranging from utterly mediocre (In My Head) to absolutely detestable (The Other Side). Talk Dirty is the exception. It's an upbeat, sarcastic knock at the lazy treatment of sexuality prevalent in modern music, with Derullo's character being portrayed as being filthy rich, yet so obnoxious and self absorbed that the only women he could hope to score with are those who mercifully can't understand a word he's saying. And it's all tied together smoothly by one of the sexiest sax solos in memory. I don't take the song to mean Derullo's going to become a good artist or anything, but every flopper has at least one good song.

Trouble by Taylor Swift. I hesitate to put this on the list because this song just barely claws and scratches its way into "unbad." But it is the only Taylor Swift song that hasn't made me crave a lobotomy. While most modern artists these days either try to give themselves a personality (Lady Gaga, P!nk), or just find a good balance that works for their style (Demi Lovato, Katy Perry), Taylor Swift has found a niche in listeners far below the line of "lowest common denominator." I find it mind boggling that anyone can take this joke of a singer seriously after she wrote a song heavily referencing Romeo and Juliet, without first checking to see what the fucking story was about. And while Love Story may have been her most obscene offense against all that is good, it was far from her only one. In her newer songs, she acts like the most annoying valley girl stereotype this side of a TV reality show, confuses the ripe old age of 22 for the ripe old age of 11, and... sings along to dubstep? Yeah, I'm a sucker for dissonance, and the stark contrast between Swift's "Girl next door" demeanor and the aggressive, buzzing dubstep (which I'm not normally a fan of either) is enough to warrant this song a reluctant passing grade. That, and sometimes her vocal performance crosses over into "so bad it's good" territory, and that always gives me a cheap laugh. So... D-, Taylor. Good luck getting your GPA above 1.0, though.

We Found Love - Calvin Harris. No real story here. I just recently found out that Calvin Harris, the raving idiot behind Sweet Nothing, was also the raving idiot behind one of Rihanna's rare fun, enjoyable singles. Go figure.

Amoral cynic with a bitchin' vocabulary.

"Dream On" by Aerosmith

Was thinking that one before I even saw your post!  I mean, I don't hate hate Aerosmith, but I don't really care for them either.

Again, "hate" is a strong word, but:

"Bullet with Butterfly Wings" by Smashing Pumpkins.  Really don't care for anything else from them.

"Whiskey in the Jar" by Metallica.

"Hitchin' a Ride" by Green Day.  Didn't notice them much before this song, and stopped noticing them after xD.

"Dashboard" by Modest Mouse.

There are probably several 80's bands I can't think of that had that one great song and naught else.  And though I realize that taste in music is highly subjective and respect the feelings of others in this matter, I feel compelled to list all the Led Zep songs that are awesome:

Everything except for "Whole Lotta Love" lol.  Well, specifically (in random order): Dancing Days, Over the Hills and Far Away, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, When the Levee Breaks, Immigrant Song, Houses of the Holy, Bron-Y'Aur Stomp, The Ocean, Rock and Roll, Ramble On, Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, All My Love, Heartbreaker, etc.
