Akira Toriyama has been tying up a LOT of loose ends lately, revealing Goku's mother, revealing Android 17 and 18's names and even giving us an insight as too what 17 did after Z had ended.

If he's setting up for a new series, will you guys welcome it with open arms?

Goku's mother here.

Android names and 17's story here.

It depends if he wants to continue. It is on record that he wanted to end the Dragonball series at several points (End of Dragonball, Frieza Saga, Cell Saga) but was pushed to continue it and this did affect his work as it did look like he was running out creative steam with the Buu Saga.

However time has passed and if he does feel like continuing Dragonball, hopefully in a series that either focuses on Bardock or retcons GT, I'd welcome it with open arms.

The series is about the dragon balls so as long as that particular element is in there there's a lot of things they could do, methinks. A lot of alien races that seemingly disappeared after Dragon Ball. (Note: I've not seen a LOT of the series so if there's any actual explanation of this I wouldn't know)

I'm not entirely sure. I loved the DragonBall series as a kid, and I still love it now. One part of me really likes the idea of another series. However there is a  problem. Akira Toriyama himself has stated that he's tired of DragonBall and doesn't really want to continue. I don't like that as I feel his dislike would harm the series, with him perhaps not giving it 100%. If he's to continue the series I want it done right.

Also yet again I feel like the only guy who liked GT. Oh well.

I liked GT, it just did a couple stupid things, like Bulma building a machine for Vegeta to hit SSJ4 (I mean come on?) and the whole black star dragonballs thing, I'm pretty sure we would of heard of them if they existed in Z (I call bullshit to the whole 'forgetting about them' thing...)

The Omega Shenron stuff was pretty cool

Oh, I wouldn't ever debate that GT made no mistakes. It did a lot of things wrong. But there was a lot of stuff I like there too.

The series had better animation, and was more vibrant and colorful than it's predecessors. I liked the major villians quite a bit. The super saiyan 4 form was really cool and I liked that it was different than the earlier forms. The original concept of travelling across the universe was also really cool, even if it didn't last the whole series. I think the fights were pretty good for the most part.

I don't think it was absolutely amazing. I just think people overreact to it's flaws a bit too much.

They have pretty much exhausted all the possibilities..... I mean any great villain will just be replaying the same damn formula over again... It's had a good run but it's getting reallllllly old....

Yes I would. Why not, people seem to like it. I haven't seen it myself though.. (only like 3 episodes)

IMO, no.......it had its moments and that is enough.  To have a new series would pretty much enrage the fans of the original.

I actually don't think so. Too much of a good thing ruins it (Please go away Batman)

And also, Lapis and Lazuli? I don't know why but i just facehooved there.

I think most of it has already been said, but for me personally, I don't think so. Good memories and such watching it as a kid and playing the games, but I don't think I'd revisit it.

Don't hold your breath. He already said he's not sure he's going to more, but if he feels like it, he said he's gonna do another movie, and wants Vegeta to be the hero for once.

Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.

I would have said 'yes' if GT never happened...but, I really don't want to see a continuation of that series, especially since the Shadow Dragon saga pretty much ruined the concept of the dragon balls for me.

GT isn't canon so he won't continue it from there.

"If"?

They are working on a new series, which is what Battle of Gods basically began. ^^

You didn't think they would let Goku just turn into a Super Sayain God and that's the end of it, did you?

No no no, there's more to it than that. ^^

Well, I'm hesitant to say yes. I mean, considering how much Dragonball content there, just what else is there to do with the franchise outside of am Abrams-esque reboot?

Really, I would say it's best to keep it as it is.

Also, I fear that if there is anymore that anything related to Garlic Jr. would officially cease to exist. He was one of my favorite villains in the show, and I loved his saga, so yeah. I know he isn't actually canon according to the manga, but I count his as anime canon. XD

I think the series could progress fine with movies going forward, but I definitely wouldn't mind a new series. Whether it continues off GT or DBZ doesn't really matter to me. Just something new would be welcome

This is a one in a million post, never in my time of being a fan of the show have I heard anyone say Garlic Jr. Was their favourite villain. EVER.

It would most definitely be from the end of Z (or Battle of the Gods) since GT is non-canon and not created by Akira himself.

Well the thing is, I'd expect more in the form of the Dragonball series. It's possible for their to be more, I just don't count the American dubbed travesty that is GT. The only think I liked extremely out of GT allot was the Omega Shenrion Saga. DBZ maybe mostly done, but it's far from dead. There are allot of fans that would love to see more from DBZ.
