Villains make Equestria a very dangerous place

I wouldn't say that Equestria is particularly dangerous, no. Yes, there are tremendously powerful and evil beings who show up from time to time attempting to disrupt harmony, but they are defeated every time.

The fact that Equestria is not dangerous is exemplified when comparing the strength of the evil with the strength of the goodness. The former can become incredibly powerful, particularly in the case of Tirek, but yet their power never even comes close to matching that of the Elements of Harmony/Rainbow Power.

Additionally, the Elements of Harmony themselves have been shown to be invincible and eternal. Even when the actual elements had to be returned to the Tree of Harmony, the essence of light and harmony itself, the true essence behind those elements, did not disappear. Rather, the light that always existed within and without the mane six took on a new form, a largely incorporeal one through which the mane six can utilize it without needing the physical presence of the elements.

It is safe to say that the mane six, when doing such, are invincible. Tirek had most if not all of the magic in Equestria, including all of the alicorn magic at his disposal. He had enough physical strength to destroy Equestria within minutes. Yet, when he fired his magic at the mane six, it swirled around them and dissipated. It did not even leave a scratch. The mane six were then able to re-confine him with zero difficulty.

This, among other examples in the show are why I do not feel that Equestria is a dangerous place. Sure, it's still possible to get injured, but the very essence of goodness itself that is the fundamental force behind the elements of harmony/rainbow power is infinitely more powerful than even the most destructive and powerful evil.

I'm not softer on anyone. You are seriously overblowing things that never happened on the show. Trixie has never been egged on to the point of suicide and complete humiliation on the show.

And I have no idea what you mean by that second comment so I won't touch on it, but you should totally pass the pipe, brah.

Um, hello.  You called what would make one of the most mean-spirited episodes the best one ever!

Of course it would be the best episode ever. It's so unbelievable and out of left-field that anything less than calling it the best episode ever would be a sin. Yes, it sounds mean-spirited, but how does that detract from it being the best episode? Does an episode of a show have to heart-warming to be the best? No, it can be mean-spirited yet funny to be the best.

I guess you'd like this version better:

All the ponies in Ponyville throw Trixie an apology party.  But Trixie gets hung and beat up like a pinata and hit in her groin several times.  Next, Trixie gets used as the donkey in pin the tail on the donkey.  Half of Trixie's cutie mark gets ripped off and everypony gives this to Trixie:

"Boo-hoo!  Looks like Twit-sie lost what made her special!"

"But what's so special about her!  She was a dumb fraud anyway!"

"That's because she's really a donkey, not a pony!"

Then Trixie gets twirled around on the dance floor with a bunch of ribbons and kicked to a table.  Finally, Trixie gets force-fed the cake.  To wash it down, Trixie is given some punch, but it turns out to be drugged.  She passes out and everypony send her floating off to dragon territory.  Somepony tells Trixie this while making a rape face:

"Have fun with the dragons, the gross and powerless Twit-sie!"

Snips and Snails then dash off to save Trixie.  But Snips and Snails keep on messing up, slowing them down.  At dragon territory, Trixie wakes up and asks if anypony's there.  All the teenage dragons from "Dragon Quest" tell her to shut up because no one wants anything to do with her.  Trixie tells them to get her back to Equestria if they don't want her around.  But the teenage dragons' response?  They charge at her.  But we finally get an awesome fight in which Trixie manages to win through pure skill even if her horn gets broken in the process.  Snips and Snails finally find Trixie and guide her back to Equestria.  They tell everypony of the fight.  But Trixie is a laughingstock once again, and this time, for losing her horn.  Enraged, Trixie calls everypony out for treating her like crap.  But even the Mane Six view her as an ass for doing this, leading to this:

Twilight: Trixie, do you know what you're doing?  You're judging ponies, which is something only Princess Celestia can do!

Trixie:  You too, Twilight!  Argh!  CAN'T TRIXIE EVER GET A F***ING BREAK!

*Princess Celestia walk in.*

Trixie:  Oh Princess Celestia!  Thank goodness you're here!  Everypony around Trixie can't make any sense and-

Twilight:  Trixie was judging everypony!  She needs to learn that only you can do that.

Celestia: Oh don't worry Twilight, I know just what to do.

So Trixie gets sent to Magic Kindergarten and gets laughed at by the idiot foals.

Ahuizotl, Diamond Dogs, Dragons, Changelings, Parasprites, Quarray Ells, Timberwolves, Ursas, Chimeras, Cockatices, Hydras, Manticores, Cragodiles, Tatzlwurms, Giant Tarantulas, Chupacabra,...

Yeah, it's pretty frickin' dangerous out there.

The Diamond Dogs are probably just too merciful instead of evil.

@@ideaguy1998, I never saw this response to me...

That one wasn't as funny as the other idea, it went too far with not enough humor.

Remember, I said something can be mean-spirited and have plenty of humor. Being mean-spirited without any humor doesn't work.

Villains make other fictional worlds dangerous too, you know...

At least in Equestria you have six mares who deals with the threats accordingly. Plus, I'm sure Equestria's inhabitants would warn you of places you shouldn't go to (like the Everfree Forest).

It's true that some beings in Equestria create a very serious threat to the safety of it's denizens... but in turn, the inhabitants of Equestria, mostly ponies, are equipped to deal with many of them.

Is it a dangerous place? Yes, but statistically speaking you could be in danger by simply crossing the street.

Far better than being in Middle-earth. I wouldn't want to live in a fantasy world were the theme of the goods guys is 'continuing on in the face of hopelessness'. Or in say the 'A Song of Ice and Fire'/'Game of Thrones' universe where you just might end up in some ghastly situation like getting locked up in the Dreadfort. Or Star Wars... heck, I don't think I can name a fictional Universe that I like that I would prefer living in than to the MLP Universe.

Plus Equestria sounds very delightful to live in, with lots of modern comforts like movie theaters and such.

Somehow Cheerilee isn't aware of it either. The only time Cheerilee address Diamond Tiara being no good was in "Ponyville Confidential", so I don't think she knows that she's a bully either.

And I think that's more of a case of them wanting to just draw attention to Apple Bloom than the show intentionally punishing the mane characters.

There were times when the adults saw Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon's bullying in plain sight!

Obviously they thought that it builds character. Either that, or the adults secretly approve of their bullying.

Bullshit.  I don't see the Mane Six taunting the CMC just to teach them a lesson.  And if they did, I'm pretty sure it would have point at least.

The bullying that Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon do does have a point: it makes them feel better about their own shortcomings.

Obviously the adults recognize that Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon have confidence issues and that it's better to let them bully than be sad and depressed about their weaknesses.

More bullshit.  Insecurities do not give an excuse to do harm.  It's like saying that someone can be allowed to kill others all because they got raped (unless the victim(s) is a rapist who constantly inflicts fates worse than death.)  But even then, that would be in self-defense.  It's not like Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are intimidating and keeping in line some super-persistent predator that can only be taken out through psychological means.

Now that's a bit of an extreme example, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon aren't like murderers at all. They're much worse than that.

How do you know they aren't keeping a super-persistent predator in check? The Cutie Mark Crusaders could secretly be plotting to overthrow ponies with cutie marks. For all we know, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are fighting the good fight and trying to stop them before they can carry out their nefarious plot.

Even more bullshit. The adults would be just as bad, if not worse for letting Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon bully ponies to let them get over their insecurities than they would be neglecting the two fillies.  Just as many, maybe even more ponies would be inflicted with insecurities and become Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon's punching bags.

I don't see how it would make the adults worse than Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. It would certainly make the complicit in the bullying, but not worse.

That's a good thing that they're making ponies aware of their insecurities. Did you see how much it helped Scootaloo after Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon made fun of her inability to fly? Scootaloo got to have an emotional time with her friends, she got to get a great nugget of wisdom from Rainbow Dash, and even overcame her feelings when it came to flying and now is coping with it much better.

Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are really doing a public service in my opinion.

Either you're insane or you're messing with me.  I'm both!

(But neither of those during this conversation.)

G1 is still worse, though.

Technically true, in a sense. Their actions are deplorable, but they contribute more to the advancements of the characters than the characters do by themselves. Without them, the CMC would be rather dull and two-dimensional.

Hello?  G4 had more competent villains!  Not to mention, G4 also has possibly more sadistic assholes than G1, even in the slice-of-life episodes!
