This RP is for meeting new people and learning other people's RP style. Since this RP is for getting to know new people and make friends, the RP is based on an easy going day to day situation. Below is posted the rules for this RP, the application process, and other information on this RP. Please take the time to read this post before applying, and please do not apply if you are not interested or do not accept the terms.

 

*** Shafer.Devin (Myself) is/am the DM of this RP, being as I created this RP. I will intervene when the need arises, but I will not nitpick. Please follow both site rules and this RP's rules. Posts violating any rules, be them site or RP, will be reported or dealt with based on severity.

RP Rules:

1. The following will not be tolerated unless pre-approved in the OOC thread prior:

     A. God Modding

     B. Power Playing

     C. Meta Gamiing

     D. Mary Sue Characters*

     E. Trolling/Harassing/Threatening/Etc. *

     F. Illegal Content/Pornographic Content/Explicit Content*

***Mild language use is ok, within reason.***

* Designates a topic which is not allowed, even with attempts for pre-approval.

 

2. Active participation is required in this RP. Inactivity only hinders the progression and enjoy-ability of this RP. The following is the guideline to activity requirements.

     A. To remain active, you are required to post at least ONE time per day, but recommended two posts daily would be better.

     B. There will be no set rotation, instead you post in reaction to a previous post, as if it were a group in real world situations. Others can post in similar times as you, as their reaction is different that yours. However, if you notice a few reactions to a post already, please use your discretion on whether or not to post, we do not want clutter or catch-up situations.

     C. Your activity needs to be with your OWN character. If you know you will be away for a while, discuss it in the OOC forum, you can give somebody else control of your character temporarily, as this will consider you as active.

     D. While you can control NPC characters, this does not count towards daily activity. Please read the corresponding section on NPC characters.

 

3. Usable Characters:

     You can use NPCs for helping story progression, including characters from the show. However, they cannot be used to hinder other RP characters. NPCs and other characters/content that are protected by copyright need to be cited in the first post it is used in, but I do not require it in any subsequent posts, we will all know its origin then.

     You can use another player's character with pre-approval in the OOC thread. This permission can only be granted from the original owner of said character and the approval of the DM combined.

 

4. Conflict:

     Being a "get to know you" RP, conflict is to stay within daily conflict settings, such as thievery, money shortage, etc. Battling, war, etc. will not be allowed in this RP, but may be included in future RPs of mine.

 

Application Process:

1. Follow site procedure on applying, but all I really want is the link to your character and a quick message regarding your interest. Additional information is excellent though, as we can get to know each other better. You need to say what position you are applying for as well.

     Needed:

     At least one thief, but no more than three.

     Up to 16 players, minimum of six.

     Various career types, just say your interest!

1. That's it! Just apply and we will get going! Any additions can be added by request, just let me know!

Sage of Six Mirrors, that works for me. An ex-thief sounds really characteristic of this RP, and I believe it will fit well.

Sage of Six Mirrors, I think that you would be stealing from both other players and NPC characters, it gives me an idea of how this group reacts to the situation and also serves to prevent the RP from going stale/boring. I am hoping you will steal from other players, it will give the RP a spin and give conflict, which is necessary in any story. I believe that would be the best, but of course use some moderation, you don't need to steal a lot, just when you feel the story needs a twist or it fits. ***The main focus of the thief was to steal from the other players.*** Edit

 

A note to everybody else: In other words, Sage of Six Mirrors can use his character to steal from you, it is part of this!

Ok. When we get enough in here we will start up, allowing people to join as we go along. A quick side note I forgot to add in earlier:
As DM, I will regulate time, such as when we run into a situation where everybody is busy in character, etc. In which case I will say "(time frame) later" to avoid stagnating the RP. I don't think this will actually happen, but in case it does, I'm adding this to fix it before it happens.

Ok. This works for me as well, which means I am going to get the RP thread going. Your first post can happen anytime within the next 24 hours, just make sure you read up on the characters so you get an idea of who everypony is.

 

I will post a link to the RP thread in the first post here when it is up. There really is no 'proper' way to do an RP, but I have a suggestion based on what has worked for myself and my friends in the past.

 

When you are going to speak, the following is pretty fluid: [Character Name]: "What is being said" *descriptions of what is happening/surroundings/outside of speech information* or for thought "speech in thought"

 

I just find this to be an organized, easy to read way to RP. Feel free to post however you want though, I am sure we will understand it none the less. Let's begin.

Ok. Now that I have been broke into the community, and I've been able to see some of how people on here RP, I'm going to join a second one, or maybe make a second one. I'll still be active in this one, and it will probably still be my main one. Thank you everypony for joining into this, and let's keep it growing! If anyone wants to be in the second one, let me know. If I am making my own, it will probably be up later today or early tomorrow morning. (Based on EDT, posting August 10, 2014 @2:49 P.M.)

 

I like how the RP is going, but is it possible to get a bit more activity? If so, that would be great!
