  1. I'm gonna have to introduce some balance into this by pointing out that John Oliver is a tool. He is part of the same dynamic that spawns all this mess. He is the do-gooder half, with the other half being the evil-doers. Together they give each other meaning, and both serve Master Fear.

This is a really old karma that was built on and never defeated. I will provide further context only on request if the strength to handle it is at least alleged.

  2. I didn't even read because I might regret it, but if you don't already know it, you might feel some love watching this channel:

May you have the strength to not get hooked by the schemes of Fear but devote most of your energy towards Love where it is needed, deserved and welcomed.
Especially in times of crisis this cannot be expected to be achieved by ourselves, but that is why I am here writing this, even though or because no automatic algorithm pushed my ass in this direction. This is pure loving Pinkie randomness. (alcohol inside™)

And we all know pony parents magically name their foals after their future jobs. Don't question it, just go with it.

Then she would be Mayor Mayor, not Mayor Mare. :worry:

Her parents must be extremely unimaginative and/or expecting of their child. Her destiny according to their naming choice (if we even wanted to apply that system) was basically to survive into adulthood. :sealed:

But as a side note, the inconsistency of the system could be seen as a hint at the fact that names matter. They affect how someone is perceived and can, through that external perception, significantly shape someone's destiny. (For example, if parents named their child Uranus, they would likely doom them to a hard start into life with lots of early scarring.) :Cozy:

Maybe Mayor Mare is just a title?

Unlikely. The emphasis is on Mare, like with a name, not Major-Mare.

As for her hair color, I just noticed there was that gossip column in a newspaper reporting her actual hair color is pink, so the gray is dyed.

  5. I am more concerned about the concerning trend of people making trivial statements that require no courage to do as "honestly". I find it concerning. And honestly, that concerns me.

Maybe you can investigate whether Emerald Heart has a reason to be afraid or ashamed of admitting that they feel super cozy, or mabye even just cozy in general. Is there some unpleasant duty they are supposed to perform that they are flunking?

This is a great way to put it. I've seen too many "leaders", both fictional and in real life, who mistook leadership for the idea of control, and failed miserably at both.

This is the inevitable ultimate outcome of problems growing. As expressed in the yin-yang symbol, the universe seeks a return from extremes, bears the seed for a turnaround in each. Balance brings health. If we move towards health, we have the universe itself as an ally. If we move towards sickness ... only all of humankind including ourselves, haha.

I'm partial to PR3ncess. Although Pinkie looks best to me.

Yeah, it rolls off the tongue more naturally.

And the Pinkie one would really be the best for self-representation. But the Fluttershy one feels more like traveling with a good friend to me, and would likely also make me ride safer, haha.

BTW it's sad that in Germany they don't even have the white-based version of the R3; only black and dark blue, both without those wheel stripes. If I had to get one in stock color, I would have to say nope. Don't like either one. - I mean, the vendor said they can easily source the other parts, but I'm pretty sure that means you end up with duplicates, paying extra. It just seems so silly to have such limits considering it is easy to swap the painted parts on bikes. It could be done like with cars that get special equipment variants. That stuff is done at the import port, usually. They could do it like with the MCC Smart and offer all kinds of color variants.

  8. Sounds like your interest in the show was tied to your interest in the fandom. ... Or is it a reminder of the painful experiences?

I myself have learned the hard lesson that the MLP fandom is a mixed bag like more or less any other fandom, with all the usual flaws, and while that in itself is just a setting for good real-life MLP episodes to happen, few people seem interested in being a part of one. Looking up to something and loving it so much that one lives it are two profoundly different things.

Especially regarding the 'horse-famous', you often got young people, immature minds, accessing more influence than they can handle, playing with borrowed power, maybe believing it's the real thing. Many different motivations. Some devils, some saints, and everything in-between. Life presents the same basic challenges regardless of where you are, about overcoming fear and coming into love. The show teaches everything, yet not many are devoted to the lessons.

Where there are ponies, there are phonies.

I run my own show fandom, in my heart, where nothing but my own foalishness could corrupt it.

I suppose so... but in my opinion, it made the whole episode boring. The episode seemed unfinished because they didn't bother investigating what happened. Their friendship may be strong, but in the world of Equestria, it feels dangerous to not figure out what happened. Especially with the Chrysalis still on the loose. Now, they wouldn't accuse the changelings since that problem has been solved. But Chrysalis could easily play some other game with their minds, which she did; they just didn't bother finding it out. It was a really weak mid-season finale and it sucked the excitement right out of me.

I totally would expect a bit of a resolution in the next episode. They can't expect us to believe they rebuild the campsite and then don't visit the tree room and notice the six pieces of wood.

That COULD lead to some interesting further story developments and provide episode content; Twilight trying to figure out what those artifacts are. ... Well, we can just wait and see and maybe get more surprises. ... Actually, this episode was a good example of how a totally predictable start can make an unpredictable ending hit so much more as a surprise. That evil-Twilight image up there, that's basically a reaction pic. It was a bit of a Magical Mystery Cure moment where we can just enjoy some pwnage instead of inflated, dragged-out drama. Interestingly, in both episodes it had the same cause/incentive for the writers: time constraints to a single episode.

    "And nopony cared about..."

My thoughts EXACTLY. The plot just... ended in smiles and laughter. There's no clarification of what happened to all the disturbances. Everyone just turned their mood around, accepted what happened or didn't happen and didn't question the confusion. It was just... over. :sealed:

Rarity was definitely the most vexing to me. She specifically said she didn't do what she had been accused of. A perfect moment for Twilight to go: "Wait a moment, what's going on here?"

I guess the writers wanted to really hit home with the message how the power of their friendship is like an unstoppable force of nature at this point where they don't even have to bother investigating attempted sabotage. In principle very beautiful, just in execution clumsy, as so often.

Hmm, maybe if we don't focus too much on those details, that would honor the principle? :ooh:  (It's actually what I love so much about the show. The nitpicking is mostly just for fun.)
