  1. I've been very active on my brand new Cheezburger account (mylittlebrony.com) lately and they have a feature to create a "site" in addition to the regular account profile. Based on recommendations in the help section, I sent a support ticket: The response: daily dose of laughs and fun daily dose of laughs and fun daily dose of laughs and fun This caused a little inner disharmony. When I told someone in the PM section of another forum, it made me break the fourth wall. ... If that gives you any indication. ------------- I calmed down relatively quickly though. ... Because ponies. I hope they can restore it. I think they can. The alternative would be too mindboggling.
  2. Might change later depending on how things go, but right now I'm quite content with it. The glasses were not done with perfection in mind. I just went with the flow and wanted to get it done. I'm still learning this stuff and didn't have that much patience. The base pony was made with the Pony Creator. The cutie mark was manually added by me. (The dolphin is a heavily modified clipart.) It represents the high frequency transmission of Dolphin characteristics like playfulness, sensitivity and zest for life. (I drew the sound waves freehand and they turned out so well!)
  3. Could you please test my current version with various browsers? I added my brand new OC to the main page and at first IE8 moved the text below the OC, then I swapped the order of the div's, and now the OC is below the text, but it's alright. Ideally it's supposed to be left of the text, and my Opera and Firefox understand that. http://mlp.owledge.de/ Thanks!
  4. Hot winds are approaching. Watch out for curricanes! (Not to be confused with curry canes. Those things are GOOD!)
  5. I have a strong sense of compassion and I really wanted to feel compassion for Ghost, but he made me laugh so hard, my taste for absurd humor took total control. Now I feel sorry that I can't feel sorry for him. That man's a genius.
  6. MLPFiM'S theme is - obviously - the magic of friendship. Love and tolerance are just things that are inevitable preconditions for that. For true friendship that is, not the watered-down version á la Facebook friend.
  7. I'm a little kooky. But at least I'm not Spock. That would be spooky. Take a dolphin. Now add a "w" (U-U) and - naturally - you have an owl there, too. If you like owling, don't be stingy with the bees, then you can do bowling. It's just like owling, but more fun.(If you try to throwl an owl, it will make you run!)
  8. This is how Pinkie Pie will drive you crazy: Pinkie Pie is awesome and fun, so you can't stop thinking of her. When you think of her, you can't stop smiling. One cannot fall asleep while still smiling. If you can't sleep, you will eventually go crazy. That's why crazy people tend to smile and laugh so much. Have fun! ...While you can!
  9. That's an awesome yoda bunny! Not a bad idea to make plushies. I have the feeling there will be way more demand than supply for quite a while.
  10. All you have to do is take a bunch of letters! Add it to the thread! Now just take a little something bold, not italic! A bit of underline, just a pinch! Writing these words is such a cinch! Add a teaspoon of punilla! Add a little more, and you count to four, And you always get your filler... Onehundred! So sweet and tasty! Hundred! Don't be too hasty! Hundred! Hundred, hundred, HUNDRED!
  11. This would be so much more fun with way more subscribers. Turns out I'm adding stuff quite frequently. I'm not sure whether EQD takes my quality these days though, haha. Please visit the video page and my channel if you like!
  12. Well, the moving when resizing the window is fine. If your Firefox displays it as you say, then I'm wondering what's wrong with mine. I've just updated to version 20 and the text is too low and the ponies are too high, regardless of how I resize the window. There's always a significant space separating the document's top and bottom from the actual browser window top and bottom. Can anybody test it with other browsers? It's IE version 8 that's placing the ponies right below the text on my computer. Also, it shows an empty scroll bar at the right. There's nothing to scroll, but the bar is there, thus the ponies' entry is 'cut short'. On the left side, there's a thing row that covers their exit, too. Not sure whether that's because marquee is deprecated, but it's still kinda frustrating that browsers interpret a standardized language so differently.
  13. Thanks! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSS_117 seems to be another use. A kind of fictional James Bond like character. Got any more findings? Not that two occurences like that aren't enough. I'm just curious.
  14. I've seen this number used quite a lot, in user names and stuff like that. Any idea why this number appears so relatively often? If I remember correctly, it might be a Halo reference, but can that be the only influencing factor? It seems like this number is spooking around in people's heads a lot. Or is that just me?
  15. http://mlp.owledge.de It's mainly about the marching ponies. Opera pretty much understands what the absolute bottom of a page is supposed to be, but Firefox seems to leave quite a lot of space at the top and bottom when positioning stuff. The frst text line is supposed to be above Fluttershy's mane, and the second one amidst it. The ponies are supposed to be at the very page bottom. Don't even get me started with IE. While it gets the text right, the ponies are right below the text lines. But it doesn't display the picture's alhpa channel colors properly. All three browsers position the background picture precisely where I want it to be, though. I did a lot of trial&error, since I'm not that versed in web design. This is the code I'm currently using for the body. <body bgproperties=fixed bgcolor="#F0F0C8" text="#000000" link="#DF75B4" vlink="#DF75B4" alink="#DF75B4"> <font face="Impact, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="18"> <div style="text-align: center; position:top; top:0px;"> <P><B><a href="mlp_anigifs.htm">MLP AniGIFs</a></B></P> <P><B><a href="mlp_captionpics.htm">MLP caption pictures</a></B></P> <P><B><a href="various_captionpics.htm">Other caption pictures</a></B></P> </div> <div style="position:fixed; left:0px; bottom:0px; width:100%;"> <p><marquee direction="left" scrollamount="3" scrolldelay="10"><img src="http://f.owledge.de/sigs/pixelpony_PP.gif"></img> <img src="http://f.owledge.de/sigs/pixelpony_FS.gif"></img> <img src="http://f.owledge.de/sigs/pixelpony_TS.gif"></img></marquee></p> </div> </body>
  16. Hay Bronies! Here is something I wanted to share with you. Pinkie Pie is very dear to me. In a way she is representing a part of me that needs more expression. I embrace her spirit and welcome her nature into my being. Lately I have made many animated GIFs and some caption pictures from the show. Half of the time I didn't look for specific scenes, but did other stuff and noticed them in the process. That one time the idea came to be to make an aniGIF out of Pinkie Pie's final twitchatwitch scene. In the process, I got the idea to make a caption pic out of it. The animation consisted of merely two frames. Free picture space was scarce, so I arranged the caption text around Pinkie Pie. Eventually, the text was all one vector layer. Now all I did was to copy that whole vector layer into the other animation frame, which naturally has identical dimensions. I saved both and when I loaded them into the animation program and did a preview, I saw this: Pinkie Pie twitchy Now my initial reaction was: "WHAT THE HAY?! WHY?? THIS-IS-NOT-SUPPOSED-TO-HAPPEN! THIS WAS A SIMPLE COPY&PASTE!!!" And indeed how could this happen? Every one of the three text segments had been misaligned in a completely different direction, resulting in that slight text jitter. A few moments later, a second thought occured: "Oh hello Pinkie Pie! Sorry I didn't recognize you at first!" Because I suddenly realized that this 'happy accident' had made the whole caption pic so much better! It now truly reflected Pinkie Pie's spirit and habit of fourth-wall-breaking: She is so on edge that she even makes the caption text jitter! Pinkie Pie, you are so random! Not only does the final result DEPICT her breaking the fourth wall in an unusual way (as usual, haha), but the very fact that this picture came to be like that constitutes her breaking of the fourth wall into this reality, too! By giving that caption text a little nudge, she made it perfect in a way my limited mind could not have conceived. Well played, Pinkie! Later some doubts crept in about whether I should have taken the idea further and made that text jitter a lot more, but I quickly realized that this would lessen the effect and reduce the 'depth' of the whole thing, the depiction of how the text is supposed to be still, since it's not in the same layer of reality, but how Pinkie Pie has that habit of having a more or less subtle effect on other layers. She's jumping all over the place, not caring for that boooring! idea of "reality". I think it's no coincidence either that this whole AniGIF thing was about Pinkie Pie's twitchatwitch sense and how Twilight Sparkle kept resisting the idea and eventually had to give up. Dear Princess Celestia, today my good friend Pinkie Pie made me realize that friendship can not only transcend time and space, but whatever artificial barrier we make up in our minds, because true friendship comes from the heart. Your faithful student Dowlphin P.S.: I DON'T EVEN LIKE COFFEE!
  17. A funny line just came to my mind... "I'd do anything for merchandise. ... I'm a merchenary."
  18. I don't buy the toys for various reasons. One is that I don't like to have so much stuff. I prefer less material things. Another one is that the figurines would have to be show accurate. I'm probably most interested in the plushies, but still not that much. Yet another reason is Fighting Is Magic.
  19. Can't make a ranking among them, but here the ones I have the most music from so far: Aviators Archie V. Pinkie Pie Swear Sim Gretina Blaze Wooden Toaster
  20. My life journey has made me realize that there's a good reason for everything that people do. There are causes, influences, triggers. I always try my best to consider that when something or someone bothers me. I also have learned that when I interact with someone with the intention to inspire and/or heal, this represents me choosing a challenge, a task. And one better learns to choose challenges wisely, otherwise it can be devastating. These days, I get better at quickly probing whether someone is open for a little love and kindness - whether it's worth trying. Fear can not be fought with fear, only neutralized with love. You need a lot of love and patience to heal powerful fears in people. You know your love is pure when you don't feel bad when it doesn't work.
  21. Either one is being inspired by the show or not. Either you can be happy for Twilie or not. But imagine your best friend became a prince/princess and you were like : "Wow, this sucks!"
  22. Reason is not a good weapon against a lack of love. And you are not responsible for the actions of others, but for how you receive them.
  23. I'd like to reply to the OP and point out that obnoxiousness takes at least two people. Someone cannot be obnoxious if you are not annoyed by them. It is best to fix that which causes the annoyance in yourself, since people rarely take other people's encouragement. Things that annoy us usually hint at something in ourselves that we don't want to see, that we have pushed aside. That's the very reason why we get annoyed by someone. They trigger it and bring it to the surface. So-called "haters" (bad generalization by the way) are in pain. They are so troubled by their fears that they feel they need to vent that pain. When someone expressed hatred towards things like subcultures (bronydom), they are afraid that the social norms that gave them a feeling of safety and stability might crumble. They don't feel capable to adapt, and that points to why they were searching for that sense of safety in the first place. Sometimes we all just need to be shown a little kindness. And when nothing comes from it, don't stress out. Not being attached to results is crucially important for the process. Because projecting expectations onto people can be perceived as threatening, and probably will by people who are already defensive. By the way, maybe it helps the development of compassion and empathy if I mention that there are also many 'haters' who consider themselves bronies.
  24. I love Fluttershy, and I guess there's only one step-up to that, and that's "being-like". I definitely need to listen to Pinkie Pie a lot more. Fluttershy loves birds, so I'd say everything is in order. Name that car Philomena! ... It will rise again! -------- Oh, one little anecdote - how it all started: Someone posted a pony thread on a forum I occasionally read- After a while I checked it out. I began watching the first episode and thought: Nah, sorry, this is all too girly. After a while - don't ask me why - I tried a second time and was hooked! It's not an uncommon experience for me that I get in contact with something and it doesn't click and then later BAM!
  25. Thank you! I'm working on it, albeit with many setbacks. PS: I need to write this line to exceed the minimum character limit.
