  1. I'm really baffled by how ANYONE can like Flash Sentry; *cardboard* has more character than that walking stereotype.

As previously said, romantic interest can begin anywhere. You don't always start with a detailed analysis. And it's actually pretty common to be flustered around a crush. By the way, she was flustered long before Flash (being thrown into an alternate universe can do that to ya). Twilight centered herself towards the end, just as Flash became flustered when asking her to the dance. Pretty straightforward stuff.

    3. Azrael the alicorn

      Azrael the alicorn

That's the point. Flash Sentry attitude towards her is no different how could act anyone else. For this the romance between those two has nothing interesting. Pair Twilight with anyone else on ponyville and, name aside, there will be no differences.

Love can begin anywhere just like it can end quickly.

I really do understand where you're coming from. And I agree that there isn't enough to solidify that relationship yet. That's why it'd only be a start. If they built on it, then it could feel real (just as they could with anyone else). Flash and Twilight were never actually a couple. It was just a little crush.

  2. Josh Scorcher taking a month-long hiatus for two reasons: schoolwork and preparing to file a restraining order against Lily Orchard.

No one wants to go this far, but if filing an order of protection means Josh finally retrieving security and mental peace, then he needs to do what he has to do.

@Sylveon I’m a bit late to the party on this point, but I don’t know Sylv... I personally would refuse to be the friend of someone that ran a fanclub for frickin’ Hitler. That goes a little beyond politics and into “heinous crimes against humanity”.

And in so many ways, too. Great lines. A lot of really great humor. A lot of fantastic drama.

Kylo admitting to Han how much pain he was feeling gave Kylo so much character and made him killing Han all the more heartbreaking.

    3. Nuke87654

      Nuke87654

Which makes Han's death even more tragic than Obi Wan Kenobi's as we grew up to love Han Solo, seeing him back in good fashion was great, seeing him dying to trying to return his son to the light, an act that pained him for it, just made that scene and movie all the better.

    4. Celli

      Celli

I agree it was a really good movie, and for me my rankings are:

      Return of the Jedi

      Empire Strikes Back

      The Force Awakens

      A New Hope

      Revenge of the Sith

      Attack of the Clones

      Phantom Menace

I have a few gripes with the Force Awakens, but they're minor and don't hurt the movie all that much.

Return of the Jedi is still my favorite, though.

  4. *guffaws* I'd rather have anyone, brony or not, wear fedoras than pants that only reach halfway up their legs.

  5. I said it earlier, and I'll say it again. AnimatedJames wouldn't be stuck in this drama if he didn't act like an ass at BronyCon, including appropriating a female brony's art to make a rape joke in a family-friendly event. He has nobody to blame but himself.

It is, I think it's because of all those shitstorms of 2013 with the Alicorn Twilight, Fighting is magic C&D, and EQG announcement raising so much issues and arguments over at sites like EQD that it mentally scarred them and the fandom at large to try to avoid internal drama as much as possible.

    3. Wind Chaser

      Wind Chaser

Well, that's all true. It's amazing how the fandom still manages to stand as strong as it does, however, considering how many times it knocks on the door of self-destruction. In the end, you'll always have some that will just dwell on the drama, and others who will just enjoy the good in the show and the fandom and see where it goes.

    4. Nuke87654

      Nuke87654

True, I'd just wish they would be more willing to call out certain issues that can affect the fandom without having to be forced by Horse News along.

@Z: And I know parents care about what their kids watch. Parents aren't stupid. Hasbro isn't stupid. The quality of the moral can AND WILL leave an influence on kids. Teaching kids that hazing is okay can AND WILL leave a bad influence on them.

    4. Dark Qiviut

      Dark Qiviut

@Z: Consider the terrible news of hazing in fraternities, from schools to the military. Lots of lives young and old were maimed and killed by hazing. Teaching kids hazing is okay opens up that trauma trigger effect.

  7. It doesn't matter how much money an athlete makes. They're still human. They should be entitled to establish boundaries to accommodate their humanity. If Naomi Osaka doesn't want to speak to the media for the sake of her mental health, they should absolutely respect that boundary. The disgusting treatment towards her by the media and especially the Grand Slam body during the past few days is ableist, racist, and more than proved her point. They treated cockroaches with more respect than her, and because of that, one of the best athletes is forced to bow herself out. Shame on the Grand Slam body!

The question has been asked - why didn't the refs notice? The only reason I can think that they wouldn't have noticed a deflated ball, barring incompetence, is if the balls were gradually deflating over the course of the first half - as if they were naturally deflating due to the weather and other influences. One ball wouldn't feel too different from the next, so the refs wouldn't notice. This would also explain why Jackson (or the Colts' ball boy, whoever it was) noticed,...

  12. Cultural appropriation is a VERY real societal problem. For example, the Native-American community has a long history of having their culture being treated as a costume (i.e., the headdress). To say cultural appropriation never existed is a bold-faced lie.

My opinion: Let the people who are apparently "Culturally Appropriating" be. Educating them about the origin of a commodity or other material, that has a cultural value elsewhere, is a great thing, but to demand respect from them is not something that should be taken for granted.

    3. Dark Qiviut

      Dark Qiviut

They have the right to appropriate the culture, but the people who take their culture seriously have a right to feel offended, tell them they're offended, and explain why. If they're too ignorant to listen, that's their loss.

I haven't been ignoring your point. You're just going around in a circle and trying to support your poorly informed opinion.

And BTW, A&E's reversal merely enforces how making short-term finance off a homophobe and racist scumbag is worth more than exercising important long-term, moral values.

So basically you're personal enjoyment doesn't always reflect what you believe is the episode's quality? I completely understand that, hell I like It Ain't Easy Bein' Breezies even though I probably shouldn't. On the other hand that episode's flaws are unlike most other episodes of the show.

    3. Dark Qiviut

      Dark Qiviut

I'd say so. (My most hated episode prior to RF, Just for Sidekicks, wouldn't crack the bottom 20, either. Maybe not even the bottom 25.) Heck, if I told you what I find to be the WORST FIM episodes, it'd be so much different from my "least favorite" list.

    4. Azrael the alicorn

      Azrael the alicorn

EQG is my most hated thing that involves MLP FIM world. As episodes:

      Season 1) The episode of the owl;

      Season 2) All the Merriwether episodes and MMMystery on the friendship express;

      Season 3) Spike at your Service;

      Season 4) Filli Vanilly.

  16. Of the T'sK video analyses I've come across, Tommy Oliver's is my most favorite because it's very fair. (I haven't watched Dr. Wolf's yet.) Mr. Enter's is by far my least-favorite because it came across as a callous attack on Digibro and the analysis community instead of an actual review.

  22. Cartoons aren't "just" cartoons. They are a culture that send psychological messages to people of all ages. Car, if you're going to get your opinion respected and not ripped to shreds, back it up. "It's a cartoon" or "it's a prototype" AREN'T good reasons, because cartoons have a psychological, cultural impact on society, even if implied.

  23. Just because the characters are flawed doesn't make every single action they make okay or in character. If they act out of character, unlikeable, have no justification for their actions, and especially don't get punished, then it's daft to accept "they're flawed" as an excuse.
