Finally getting around to making one of these! Welcome to my little corner of art hell c: I think I've reached a point with my art where I'm happy enough with it to feel confident showcasing it properly. I'm still working hard at improving, so this is mainly to catalogue my progress as I go from here on out! So, without further ado, it begins! First completed character - owned by bananenbuzz!

Hmm... Maybe twice a month? I organise my table every week or so, but it explodes into chaos instantly. I'm a messy worker, but I know where everything is at all times anyway.

Jeez, 2 years? I've not been as active as I'd like, ahahahha. I go through phases - I'll jump like 3 ranks in a month and then not post for another half a year.

all of them Autumn! Summer's a bit too hot, Winter can get a bit too cold, and Spring I get the worst allergies known to man. Also, Autumn is really pretty and the weather is lovely and it's raining a lot ^^

Straight water! Nothing more refreshing.

Nope, and that's 100% okay with me.

Pretty much whatever I feel like. If I'm bothered to cook, I'll whip up something. Otherwise, I normally have yoghurt, cereal, or biscuits. Occasionally instant noodles in winter.

Don't really fall into either category - nothing tells me I should, but nothing tells me I shouldn't either.

As they took to the air, Bayou whooped with joy, beaming at the adrenaline rush. “Woooohoooo!” he yelled to the sky, earning another low, rumbling laugh from Araluen. Hair whipping wildly around him, the teen raised his arms, closing his eyes and letting the wind run through him. After the initial adrenaline wore off, Bayou felt his curiosity creeping back from the pure newness of it all. “So, A… Araluen?” he asked tentatively, trying the name on his tongue. “You said you were of a water flight… What does that mean?” he asked, cocking his head. “Good question, my robin.” she replied, pleasure evident in her tone. “I am a dragon from the water flight. I live in the present, but my mind often drifts into the future.” She paused briefly, contemplating the best way to explain herself before continuing. “To me, time is like water – fluid. It runs around me at all times, and I can see the future whenever I wish. However, what I see will not always come true. It’s just a single drop in a million possibilities. For example, I saw the possibility of bonding with you, but as unsure whether it would come true.” She glanced at Bayou, making sure he was understanding, and found him entranced by what she was saying. “So… it’s like a web!” he exclaimed, and she quirked an eyebrow. He searched for words to explain. “Like… You can see and feel all the possibilities around you, but you don’t know which branch it’ll break off into, or which section of the web the insect will land on.” He flailed, gesturing and hoping she understood. Araluen smiled, happy he understood. “Exactly, my robin. Being such a mind-focused flight also means that, if our bond is strong enough, we may be able to form a telepathic link and share thoughts and feelings.” “Cool!” Bayou exclaimed, before biting his lip a little out of nervousness and joy. “Oh gosh, I’m excited. I really like you so far, Araluen, and I hope we’ll make it through the training to come.” Araluen nodded, beaming. “I’m sure the future will be bright.” “Are you just saying that, or are you serious?” “Who knows…?” “HEY!”

Bayou nodded, testing the name on his lips before smiling. "Me too, honestly. I mean... Yea. Nothing for it." he babbled a little, sighing as he ran a hand nervously through his already messy hair. The doors swung open, and he trailed after Aileana, the two of them separated by the sudden influx of people. What he saw took his breath away. Dragons were everywhere - flying, seated, just... Being dragons. They were truly majestic, and he found himself floored and suddenly feeling very very small. Nervously, he watched as the others all found their dragons - Aileana found this gorgeous white dragon, and other students were already taking off into the sky. He bit his lip, fiddling with his earrings as he glanced around. ---------------- Araluen merely smiled as Abner found his human - she could tell just at a glance that the two of them would make many fond memories together. She seated herself contentedly, sure that, if her bonding was meant to be, she'd see her human soon enough. As the rest of the dragons and people began to clear, she spotted one lone boy in the midst of the rest, and felt an immediate connection - he was just as her vision had foretold. Approaching him slowly, she watched with mild amusement as his attention was drawn to her. Their eyes locked, and she instantly felt a swell of emotion, washing through her like a tide. Bayou's expression likewise shifted into one of awe and disbelief. She gently lowered her muzzle to his level, and he felt his breath rush out in a sigh of wonder as he instinctively rested his forehead against the dragon's. It was unexpectedly warm, and he closed his eyes. "My robin." he felt a voice thrum in his ears, and opened his eyes to see the dragon staring at him. "My name is Araluen of the water-flight." she murmured, her voice like running water. "B... Bayou." he managed to stammer back, before feeling an odd tingle on the inside of his wrist. Glancing down, he saw a blue teardrop intricately carved with white swirls blooming into existence. "My symbol. We are bonded." Araluen smiled, before turning and dipping down. "Shall we fly? There is nothing better for privacy." Bayou's eyes immediately lit up, sparkling blue. "Oh my gosh! YES! I've always wanted to fly!" he exclaimed, his regular personality surfacing once more now that the initial wonder had passed. He eagerly clambered onto her back, a grin on his lips, as Araluen chuckled at his enthusiasm. "Hold on tight." she winked, before taking off into the air with a single downbeat of her wings.

I'll be honest - when I first saw the starters I thought Rowlet was adorable and pretty much set my heart on Litten. I mean, he's a cat. Please. But... Over time, just... The pure amount of distaste Popplio gets made me feel like I have to protect him. He's pretty cute, and I guess my water starter bias is kicking back in. Excited to see final evols, and also learn some more about the region!

(@Stardust*) Bayou smiled as she noticed, and made a stupid peace sign as a way of thanks. He paused when she motioned at him, before glancing around with mock confusion. "Who, me?" he mouthed, before grinning and awkwardly beginning to shuffle his way through the crowds. Eventually, he made it to her side with a dramatic huff, wiping imaginary sweat off his brow. "Phew, that was a trek! My name's Bayou, nice to meet you!" He opened his mouth to continue, before closing it again as the headmaster started talking. After his little speech, Bayou glanced at the girl next to him, smiling decidedly more nervously as he fiddled with his earrings. "So," he cleared his throat, "You ready? I mean, I don't know if I'll find a dragon, and I'll be banished I guess if I don't, but... Here goes nothing, right?" ------------------ Araluen merely smiled. "I have not found one for sure, but I am hoping." she confided, a knowing look in her eyes. "I'm sure you'll know when you see her - just follow your instincts." she said, before turning her eyes to the incoming students. "Here they come now. Fortune be with you, Abner."

Bayou shuffled a little impatiently on the spot, glancing around and observing the reactions of the other students to what the elder was saying. He spotted a girl standing a little ways off (@Acnologia) muttering to herself and wringing her hands nervously. He contemplated getting her attention, but decided she was much too absorbed in her thoughts, and continued looking. His gaze was soon drawn to an auburn-haired girl who also seemed to be looking around (@Stardust*), and, hoping he would catch her attention, he waited until she was staring in his general direction before waving. He smiled, offering a thumbs up and mouthing the words: "Good luck!" ---------------------------------------- Araluen quirked an eyebrow at his introduction - no dragon had attempted to approach her in the past - before she smiled ever-so-slightly herself. She was mildly surprised he had noticed her among the other dragons. An observant one, it seems. "Good morning, Abner. My name is Araluen, pleasure to make your acquaintance." she murmured, somewhat drowned out by the chatter of the humans.

Barn Mates:

I managed to bruise myself when I was sleeping. I have no idea how, but I guess I elbowed the wall or something.
