  1. Good night my fellow MLP and 4chan ers...lol. let's hope for a better tomorrow.

  2. Just to make it clear, we hold standards for our members of the studios regarding how they hold themselves. Please make sure to read our policies and rules found on our studio website: http://thundercoltstudios.weebly.com/studio-policies.html or in the cloud on Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8l51s9wqNklZ2MtZ2luOG1sRFU/edit?usp=sharing
  3. Very true, there are several synths out there that do the exact thing in different ways. Although becoming a pirate is one of the common way for someone to get synths, I want to try to discourage that and show that some of those sample packs, synths, etc have potential (assuming you are never paying for it in the future). I'm glad your exploring the world of vsts. Have fun with making music Thanks guy for adding on to this topic, if there's anything I can do to help you guys, musically or not, let me know!
  4. Just found the "Still Shy" a capellas! :D

  5. Welcome to the forums mrchess! Hope you enjoy your time on the forums.
  6. Hey Ultimate Potatoes! Welcome to the forums! You definitely seem to be a funny guy, so you'll fit in nicely here. If you need help just ask someone, and we'll be glad to help.
  7. XD haha Hey Schoolboy B! Welcome to the forums! If you need any help just ask! See you 'round.
  8. Anyone remember the HON incident, where Cafe HON decided to 'trademark/copyright' the word 'hon?' It was a stupid idea because so many people used 'hon' in so many applications (e.g. gift cards, common speech). In the end, they essentially gave up the copyright/trademark because of the outrage of the people and because of the stupidity of trademarking something that existed before they did. Same would go for the term 'brony.' Hasbro, Inc. did not invent the term. The world did, so taking ownership of a term you did not invent would be again dumb. Regarding C&D..... You shouldn't run into much of a problem if you have Hasbro, Inc's permission before you try to essentially photocopy their characters to a T and make a video with your idea.
  9. Hey Ninja! I'd definitely be interested in joining the TF2 team you're making, although my computer crashed, so I'll be out of the count for a while. I actually followed the same path you did.... watched some fan made stuff, then decided to watch the actual show. Welcome to the forums! If you need any help, let someone know!
  10. @Doctor, I'm sure we could use additional VAs for the project. All, If you wish, you can ask to be part of the project here, or use the application found on our website: http://thundercoltstudios.weebly.com/join-us.html
  11. Hello Everyone! We now have a website and a YouTube channel running for the project! http://thundercoltstudios.weebly.com https://www.youtube.com/user/ThunderColtStudios Make sure to check them out for previews of our projects!
  12. nope.avi All the 11 minute cartoons become or already are crappy. I don't want this show to become crappy. If they tried to compile everything a normal length episode would have into an 11 minute one, my mind would probably just not understand what I had just watched XD --EDIT-- Okay, maybe there can be some exceptions, but if they were trying to go after the traditional style they are known for and compress it into 11 minutes, that would just not be very compatible.
  13. Congratulations man! I'm glad you got the position. Keep up the good work.
  14. If you're talking about the heartbleed incident, IE has already patched up the issues for that. Not so sure about Safari, but still... it is recommended to use Chrome or Firefox.
  15. Looks like you've got quite a few music people, but if you need another.... well, just let me know and you can add me haha.
  16. I LIKE TO TALK WITH BIG WUBS Not screwed because I love answering questions.
  17. Adding on to this... you're living in their house (assumedly) and you live by their rules because of that.... so if they're telling you not to watch it, and you are, then there's a problem... Have you even tried to discuss it with them? And by discussion, I don't mean arguing, because that will get you farther away from what you want (trust me).
  18. Hey John, Sausage Fattener has confused several people as to what exactly it does. From my personal use and from what I have read, all I can say that it is a brickwall limiter, or in I guess simpler terms "helps control clipping" (futureproducers.com). Although this may be true, I'd rather say that it is an overdrive/distortion and saturation unit, with the overdrive being the "fatness" being the overdrive/distortion, and the "color" being the saturation. Others say it's a limiter, compressor, and saturation unit combined. I could have my terms messed up, so I'm sorry if I'm saying the wrongs things. http://www.gearslutz.com/board/product-alerts-older-than-2-months/614357-dada-life-sausage-fattener-au-vst-2.html With the right eqing and adding on of transient shaping, compression and overdrive/distortion units, you could achieve similar or the same effects. Hope this helps.
  19. These are the ones I've used and recommend: GIMP: http://www.gimp.org/ Inkscape: http://inkscape.org MyPaint: http://mypaint.intilinux.com If you have a specific program in mind, and it costs money, try this website to find free alternatives: http://alternativeto.net/
  20. I second using LMMS, although the stock sounds aren't to die for, you can always get samples and stuff that sound way better. One thing I noticed with LMMS is that they've worked on their appearance, and it now looks more professional than before. Anyway.... back to the topic. So, yes. If you want to start making EDM and stuff, start off with LMMS (that's what I did). If you want to go to FL Studio, then by all means do so. It'll be an easy transition from LMMS to FL. I have a thread with free plugins, SFZ, and sample packs going on here: http://mlpforums.com/topic/100934-plugins-sfz-samples-etc/#entry2726663 you should definitely check it out and download some of the software. Since you're saying EDM, definitely install T-Force Alpha Plus. It's the best free plugin I've found for any type of Electronic music. If you need help kickstarting LMMS and using it, let me know. I'm sure @Flutterpride would be happy to help as well. If you're going straight into FL, again, I'm sure either or I would be happy to help. Good Luck! My music is below, so if you want to hear what you can do with free stuff, check it out ^^
  21. Oh, if you haven't (since you're using FL), remove the limiter off of the master track(It'll help with headroom, trust me), and make sure that the master doesn't peak 0dB. (I usually do -6dB, per advice from a friend). I hope to see you around on the forums as well
  22. Welcome to the forums D3rpy! If you've got any questions, let someone know! Again, welcome to the forums!
