  1. Redwood passed a newsstand along the usual route she takes to the docks. The beige stallion at the stand was opening a new bundle of newspapers, and looked up to greet her as she passed. "Mornin'," he said, tipping his cap slightly. As there wasn't anything particularly newsworthy today, he didn't immediately offer her a paper like he usually did when there was a big headline. Elsewhere, as Silk Shine was making her way towards the library, a ball bounced across the sidewalk in front of her, with a pair of young colts in close pursuit. They nearly tripped her up as they ran by. One of them had a little more manners than the other and stopped to say, "Oops... Sorry, miss!"
  2. (Link to OOC thread) CRIMSON DAWN * * * The morning sun glistened brightly against the tall buildings of Manehattan. Beautiful weather was scheduled for the day, and those who lived in the city were taking full advantage of it. Street vendors had long lines of ponies to buy their wares, young fillies and colts were taking to the parks to play, and with the main business week over, there was anticipation for the relaxing weekend ahead. Even on these slower days, however, city life can still be hectic and fast-paced compared to life out in the country, and with all the distraction the city provides, it can become all too easy to forget about the rest of Equestria. News may travel fast within the city, but one rarely seems to takes notice of events outside, except when it is something so major that it simply cannot be ignored. Thus, the city went about its business this morning, blissfully unaware of the danger that was soon to be approaching...
  3. Right now, the gameplay will focus on Fluttershy trying to navigate through the woods, looking for pieces of a lost artifact in order to break a curse. The woods are haunted and have ghosts that follow you, and you have to manage your fear level or else you begin shifting into a dark version of the woods, in which the ghosts are lethal. The ghosts themselves are basic featureless pony models, but right now they're not animated. They need to be able to trot, gallop and sit. Fluttershy herself is not seen since the game is from a first person view.
  4. So, I've had one past project in Unity ("Twilight Escape") in which I didn't have to worry about having actual pony animations in it, since it was all done from a first person perspective of the only pony character in the game. However, In the next one I'm working on ("Fluttershift"), I have some pony characters that need animations. The models that I have can be manipulated inside Unity, but since I lack any animation skill whatsoever, I can't even get them to do the basics, like trotting and galloping. At the very least, I need to find someone that can help me figure out the keyframes necessary for the simple animations I need in the game. Basically, what's needed amounts to just the trot and gallop animations, and a sitting pose.
  5. Surprised to see that nobody mentioned the bows that the ice archers used during the Equestria Games. They look like they're designed to be placed on the ground of course, but I'm sure they're light enough to be carried until they're ready to be used. Also, I'd like to point out that the pegasi and unicorns have it easier when it comes to using weapons. Unicorns can just levitate the weapon they're using, and pegasi can carry a weapon in their hooves while airborne so that it doesn't impede their mobility. Finally, cannons may be canon, so to speak, but more portable firearms are probably not, as we've never seen one. If they existed, we would definitely have seen them employed during the Sombra battle in the Season 5 finale. Also, some people might point out that Rainbow Dash mentions bullets during the song in "May The Best Pet Win", but the term 'bullet' was used for hundreds of years prior to any firearms existing (it was often used to describe sling ammunition). It's just like how the term 'missile' was used to describe a wide variety of ranged projectiles.
  6. If I must to survive, then yes. Everyone who thinks they're above eating human flesh forgets that every time you swallow, you're swallowing a bunch of dead cheek cells. So you've already eaten human flesh, whether you'd like to think so or not. Granted, I would still consider it a last resort. This should answer that (the question starts at 2:10): Short answer: Your body is much more efficient at 'eating' your own flesh than if you were to actually eat it.
  7. Hasbro and Mattel, huh? That could potentially create a monopoly on the toy market. If this merger goes through, and some other company tries to file a lawsuit to prevent the merger, would that be a Has-Matt suit?
  8. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the religious have an advantage, in that they are more easily able to put their trust in something without concrete evidence of its existence (the definition of faith). A scientific mind is more prone to questioning the validity of things, and any such doubt will hinder the process. On the flipside, if a scientific mind is sufficiently convinced of the science behind a tulpa, it can help suppress the doubts enough to have similar levels of success.
  9. It's on a temporary hold until I find more time to work on it. It shouldn't be that much longer before I get back to it, hopefully.
  10. Sorry if that came off as weird-sounding. I only meant that a scientific mind tends to question things, and would want to know how something works before it can truly accept that it does work. We don't actually know a lot about why tulpas exist, but there are a lot of good theories, and if you find a theory that makes sense to you, it seems to help the development process by pushing those pesky questions and doubts aside.
  11. My guess is that it has more to do with how much the host trusts that the tulpa is real. Since the religious have an easier time having faith in something that can't be proven scientifically, I would think they would have an easier time developing a tulpa. A more analytical or skeptical mind might be more prone to questioning the validity of a tulpa, and as such would not have good development. On the other hand, if someone analytical were understand the science behind the tulpa, or have a direct experience with a tulpa and thus have proof that they are real, they should be able to develop a tulpa faster as well.
  12. She did it because she knew Rainbow Dash wouldn't be able to accept Tank having to hibernate unless she was forced to face the truth about it. It's like when she had to force the breezies to leave her home; sometimes kindness can be harsh, but it doesn't make it any less kind in the end.
  13. I almost forgot about Splatoon. That's way up there too.
  14. Reading through this thread, I feel like the only reason everyone isn't saying "Undertale" is because everyone hasn't played it.
  15. Most people here scratched their nose shortly after viewing that image.
  16. I started trying to make a tulpa over a year ago, and was met with some success, but life got in the way and I just couldn't find the time to focus on it anymore. I'd still like to see if I can pick up where I left off, but it's been months since I did any serious work on it.
  17. Also, Rainbow isn't that easy to scare, but Fluttershy managed it. Well done, Fluttershy! I liked how Rainbow filled her helmet with her candy. Convenient snacking!
  18. All fandoms end eventually, or they evolve into something else. But despite this, I don't think the show is losing anything currently. It seems like whenever arcs are resolved in MLP, they never just close doors; they always open other ones.
  19. Please read my post 3 posts above yours.
  20. I don't quite understand why people are seeing Fluttershy's behavior at the party as being a return to her older "afraid of everything" self. You have to realize that this is the single most terrifying day for her. It takes all of her fears and multiplies them greatly. The fact that she was ONLY nervous about things and not curled up in a ball under her bed weeping proves she's more confident and brave than she used to be. It's just not enough to COMPLETELY override her fear of Nightmare Night.
  21. Prey animals are uncomfortable moving through open spaces, since it leaves them open to attacks from predators, particularly birds that might swoop down on them from above. They will usually prefer to go around the open space instead of through it, unless there's no cover around the sides. In these cases, they will just dart through it quickly, and they would not take this risk for any other reason than to reach something on the opposite end. Therefore, if a chicken crosses a road, you can guarantee it was to get to the other side.
  22. For a long time my favorite was Markiplier, but Jacksepticeye has just barely edged him out. Not to say I don't still enjoy watching both, especially when they are playing the same game together.
  23. We may not. Motives aside, though, there's still no evidence or reason for spite, as I've mentioned before. My personal impressions play only a small part in this, where for others it appears to be playing the only part, and that's the problem I had with it. Anyway, I've laid out my observations and spoken my part, and so have nothing more to add at this point that hasn't already been said.
  24. Truthfully, does it matter what I say here? Even if I were to say that I was a close friend, a family member, or even her husband, you could still claim that there's a level of understanding about her that I don't have, and you'd be technically right. I'm not claiming that my impressions are absolutely correct, but I'd say they're certainly more accurate than someone who hasn't met her at all.
