  1. So, so many things. To list a few of the more SFW ones, junk food, some anime, some music.
  2. If I could fit all my plushies in my bed I would. My girlfriend wouldn't like that, though. I did sleep with them for years and I'll never get rid of them. They are the army with which I shall take over the world. Did I say take over? I meant save, of course. Yes.
  3. I swear all the time, with every possible one except the one we in the Netherlands find most offensive, and that has less to do with being offended about than having grown to despise the word itself. For the record, here we swear using diseases. The swears English-speaking countries use are all quite mild around here. The one thing I hate worse than swearing with cancer (which is by far the most offensive swear we have here) is the people who do it, but use street slang euphemisms for it. If you're gonna say it, at least f*****g say it, don't use euphemisms like a little b***h. <- these words were pre-censored by me, because I have no clue if this place has a word filter.
  4. Must've been in late 2011, I guess. I entered November but I'm not really sure. All I know is that it was still 2011 when I first watched it. At the time (and still to this day, really) I spent a lot of time on TV Tropes. More and more often, I came across references to My Little Pony. At the time, I didn't take it very seriously because after all it was freaking My Little Pony. Then, one day, I was checking Crowning Moments of Awesome of series I remembered from childhood on TV Tropes and once again I saw MLP in there. I remember thinking, how the hay can this series have any awesome moments at all? I read through the list and what I saw truly intrigued me. It didn't come across as a horrible series, that was certain. Being a guy who believes in fair chances (you know, whenever that suits me) I decided to check out the first episode. At the intro, I remember shaking my head and thinking, 'why am I doing this again?', and that thought became even more prevalent when the intro started. That time, as soon as I heard the opening I muted it, and so I missed the awesomeness that should have given me a clue as to what I was dealing with. My mistake, but obviously long rectified. When the show proper finally began, I quickly realized that this incarnation of MLP was quite unlike its predecessors. I found myself really liking Twilight and her light sarcasm, especially her reaction to Pinkie Pie. Her reactions were natural, and she seemed as weirded out and even lightly annoyed as I think I would have been in the same situation. Of course, the opening was a two-parter so I had to watch the second episode as well. This, I think, was the one that cemented the show as a good one, mainly because of Twilight's reaction to Pinkie's song. "Tell me she's not..." That's when I knew beyond a doubt that this show was good, in an entirely different league from older versions. Obviously I immediately went on to watch the rest of the season and by the time I was done, I was completely willing to call myself a brony, eagerly anticipating season 2. Oh, also worth mentioning as a true turning point for me: Winter Wrap Up. I loved that song the moment I first heard it, and I still love it. TL;DR: Saw it on Tv Tropes, watched first ep, liked it, watched rest of season.
  5. This will take a while, I think. AppleDash: They're both headstrong and competetive, yet very different in behavior. Even so, they're clearly close friends and for me it's not hard to see why they should be together. TwiDash: Twilight and Dashie are my favorite ponies, pretty much. They offset each other nicely because Twilight is very happy studying while Dash would like to be outside practicing her flying or really any other sport. Then again, they both love to read and that makes for a nice connection between them. Twilight x Trixie: How could I not like these two? Twilight may be infinitely more powerful than Trixie, she could definitely learn from her showmanship. Trixie, on the other hand can learn a thing or two from Twilight's humility. SunLight: I really only started shipping this after Rainbow Rocks. Both former students of Princess Celestia, and after EG Sunset was basically in the same situation as Twilight, knowing next to nothing about friendship. Wow, I thought I could write much more about my ships. I'm pretty sure I can, even, but somehow not at this moment.
  6. If it were Ashleigh Ball reading a fic of mine...I'd wonder how she would feel reading about a fic where I ship characters she voices. Although really, I think the VAs do consider the characters as separate entities from theselves and as such they'd probably not be too weirded out by it.
  7. The internet hates everyone. And besides, who's easier to hate than bronies? We like brightly-colored magical talkking ponies designed to be liked by little girls. Add to that the fact that many of us actually believe in friendship and tolerance as a solution to everything and you've got a group of people even easier to hate.
  8. Is there really anyone who doesn't ship at least these two anyway? :comeatus: And on-topic...I think they made their spell a bit too strong then...
  9. Sunset Shimmer. Just everything about her in this movie was great, from her insecurity about her past to her decision to stand with her friends and help them at their darkest moment. And of course, the sleepover was amazing, especially the part where Sunset and Twilight have their talk in the kitchen.
  10. In my mind, she certainly was and she deserved to be. She's just too adorable in the movie and she really played a central role in the story. I think you could easily call her the main protagonist of the movie considering her role. She even fills the almost-standard role of being nearly universally hated at the start and fully accepted later that marks a true protagonist.
  11. I mentioned it in the Rainbow Rocks review thread before, but I'll say it again here: I don't like Flash Sentry. He's got the personality of a cardboard cutout and he's just a reverse damsel in distress. Not to mention that Twilight knew he was under the Dazzlings' spell and she still got emotional when he told her off. She should be far too smart for that. On a more personal level, I support quite enough Twilight-ships to not want a canon one. If the series proper works it out well I can get into it, I guess, but they'll really have to work on giving Flash some personality. Other than that, I only have some minor gripes that I can actually mesh with the personalities of the characters, so they're not worth mentioning here.
  12. Definitely this. Their voices really, really are mesmerizing. Add to this the fact that I am quite competetive so the song 'Let's Have A Battle' really does get me worked up a bit. I also really enjoy 'Awesome As I Wanna Be' because I like the tremendous ego in it. 'Welcome To The Show' is another song I really love, because of both the lyrics and the music. Of course, in the end I love all of the songs and I deeply respect Daniel Ingram for being able to create them, and the entire cast for performing them so well.
  13. Unlike most people here I'd never even heard about this movie until a few days ago, when I decided to check the wiki to see if there was any new info about season 5. So all the leaks that were apparently widely known to everyone here passed me by completely. I watched it immediately afterward and I have to say that it pleasantly surprised me. I didn't really care much for the first movie aside from the songs, so when I saw this one had a focus on music I was certainly intrigued, and with good reason. The Dazzlings' songs are truly captivating, especially their vocalizations, and I've been listening to the sondtrack for days on end now. Aside from that I was very pleasantly surprised by Sunset's character development and she's by far my favorite character in the movie. I do feel she got shafted a bit, but since in the end it turns out okay for her I'm fine with it, I think. One negative thing I have to mention is Flash Sentry. I personally feel he has no personality whatsoever. In the first movie, he's just a standard good-looking guy with a guitar who develops an instant crush on the socially awkward new girl and gets brainwashed along with everyone else later. Here...he's exactly the same. He has a crush on Twilight and gets brainwashed. He does nothing to make himself stand out in any way, and yet, apparently, he's deserving of Twilight's attention somehow. It's a waste, really, because the creators are usually very good at writing characterizations. Just look at Sunset Shimmer, who made a (admittedly somewhat hamfisted) heel-face turn at the end of the movie. She still has to deal with the evil mutterings of the school and she realizes full well what kind of...not very nice person...she's been in the past. It's genuine development, however, where Flash Sentry is still exactly the same. I hope that, if he returns in the series proper, he'll have some character development. I'd hate to see a potentially nice side character relegated to being nothing but looks and a reversed damsel in distress.
