  1. The talks about the end in this thread kind of make me sad, even though it's true that all good things eventually come to an end. I hope Season 5 will deliver on the hype I'm already feeling though, I want more pony!
  2. I should have known someone would bring that up. I'm talking about regular, 0.25-0.3 liter glasses. I'm fairly sure three of those won't harm me
  3. I don't like religion. While at its core, it's meant to be love (essentially it's meant to be exactly what bronies value, tolerance, forgiveness, openness and kindness) the dogma surrounding it has twisted it into a mockery of its true intentions. All those devoutly religious who base their lives on outdated scripture hold back humanity as a whole. I have nothing against people who are religious yet sensible, but I absolutely despise fanatics who try to take away the freedom of others through their own twisted interpretation of their holy books. (I believe all Judeo-Christian-Islamic religions have the line "Judge not lest ye be judged yourself" or some variation thereof in their books. If the religious aren't meant to judge and only their God is allowed to, I'd ask them to kindly refrain from judging).
  4. My kik is KatonRyu, as with pretty much everything. Don't expect me to be very active, though, since we're probably all in different time zones.
  5. I'd definitely like to see Trixie and Babs again, although I wish that Sunset Shimmer would make an appearance as well. I know she won't, I'd just like it if she did.
  6. When the opening theme of episode one started: "Why am I watching this again?" At the end of episode one: "Well, that was okay. Since it's a two parter I'll watch the next one." When Pinkie started singing and Twilight said 'Tell me she's not...': "This can only get better from here." Sealing moment when I truly became a brony, when Winter Wrap Up started: "Damn, this song is awesome! I'll never get this out of my head again."
  7. Fencing. It's easily the coolest sport I know of. I mean, you're waving a sword at someone. Not that you'd live long if you'd actually fight with a sharp sword the way you fence, but still.
  8. I don't like big crowds, drunk people, drinking, popular dance music, or actually people in general. My girlfriend sometimes likes to go out with friends and I occasionally join her, but most of the time I don't. Most recent example of this would be New Year's Eve, where she went into town after the fireworks while I stayed at home watching Korra. Ideal evening, really.
  9. I'm a fencer and I fence epee. I train three times a week, plus fitness (although I admit my fitness schedule gone to hell and I need to get back into it). I go to every national competetion and some international ones in France and Germany, with my goal this season being reaching the 64 in the Paris World Cup in May. (Given that I lost quite badly at a national tournament this weekend I need to work very hard to get there and even make it out of the preliminaries...)
  10. I don't support any teams fanatically, but off the top of my head: Soccer: Ajax (because it was the first team I learned of as a child; I don't watch soccer) Baseball: New York Yankees As a bonus here are my favorite fencers, sicne fencing is the only sport I know anything at all about: Epee: Nikolai Novosjolov, who I think is the best fencer in the world right now despite not being ranked 1, Pavel Kolobkov, the best male epeeist ever, and Bas Verwijlen because he has a unique style using his razor sharp instincts and impeccable timing (and he's Dutch) Foil: Valentina Vezzali, medal-wise the best fencer ever with about 6 world titles and 6 times Olympic gold, three of which were individual Sabre: Gu Bongil, whose style looks awkward but is completely controlled and calculated.
  11. There are alcoholic beverages I like the taste of, but I don't drink them. I can't drink slowly, I can't drink moderately. I've only ever been lightheaded, never full-on drunk, but I hated the sensation and because I never want to feel it again I simply won't drink alcohol. At least with water I can down three glasses in a minute without any ill effects.
  12. Since death freaks me out I'd like to believe that there is some form of afterlife, but if I get right down to it I'm afraid there will simply be nothing. That my existence will cease the moment my body dies. If immortality was a thing in reality I'd be chasing it. The main thing that elads me to believe there isn't an afterlife is because no evidence for it has actually been discovered. Above all else, I believe in science. If we knew for certain there was an afterlife, death would no longer be a sad thing because we'd know the deceased would still exist somewhere. Maybe the seven curled up dimensions of string theory contain th secrets to the afterlife, but until it's proven one way or another I'm forced to conclude there's simply nothing after death.
  13. I live in the Netherlands, but I'd still like to read the IDW comics. Even though I've managed to find most of them online at least one of them, the Holiday Special, has eluded me. Does anyone know where I could buy it? I checked the IDW site but that particular one can't be purchased online for some reason. I really want to read it because ever since Rainbow Rocks Sunset has been one of my favorite characters. I believe the nearest retail point for IDW is somewhere in southern Germany, which is a bit too far for me to travel to. Thanks in advance!
  14. I'd probably pick Twilight, but I'm not entirely sure how much she'd like this planet. There is too much violence, hatred and ignorance here for a being who comes from a relatively peaceful world. I'd show her the good things of the planet, obviously, and lots of scientific literature because I think she'd find it fascinating, but I wouldn't avoid the harsher sides of the world either. Finally I'd ask her not to judge all of humanity by the actions of some. Aside from all the violence, though, I think she'd find Earth to be a beautiful planet. Humanity is really the only negative part of the planet.
  15. There needn't be any overlap between the two at all. I like MLP because of the characters and the situations those characters end up in. I have no common interests with the Furry culture in the least, however.
  16. I thought it was a horrible abomination that should have died in the 80s when it began. At first I couldn't believe MLP could ever be good, but then I started seeing more and more references to it on TV Tropes, including a Crowning Moment of Awesome page (this was between seasons 1 and 2). Even now I don't like the older gens; G4 is the only worthwile gen IMO.
  17. Yes she is, both in looks and personality. She was easily the character I liked most in RR. Throughout the movie there were just too many great moments centered around her; there's no way I could not find that attractive.
  18. He could be a good character if he obtained a personality. So far he's been just a piece of cardboard Twilight likes for some reason. If he returns in the show proper and he gets some decent development I could come to like him and I could probably even forgive him for sinking about three ships which involve Twilight, but if he remains nothing more substantial than a potted plant I'll be quite disappointed. Coming up with a personality for Flash shouldn't be overly difficult. It could be an archetypal personality for all I care, as long as it's done well it will work. But at least I hope he gets something. My opinion of him in the movies: Waste of space character who might as well not be there.
  19. Gut feeling: NO! Slightly more rational answer: They might be, if Flash gets some character development. I still wouldn't like it much but if he gets developed and the relationship progress is handled well I don't see why they wouldn't match. There's obviously some attraction between the two, loath as I am to admit it.
  20. For me nothing beats this smirk as Sunset transforms in RR. This moment really shows her old confidence, confidence she'd been lacking for the entire movie.
  21. Of course she is, and she knows it fully well. Being a drama queen does not detract from the rest of her personality; in fact I think that her 'drama-sense' completes her character. Something would be missing without it.
  22. Personally I take the comics as canon because the established canon is rather loose to begin with. I'm referring here to Cutie Marks, which of course represent one's special talent, but according to Magical Mystery Cure they are also a reflection of 'true destiny'. (In my headcanon those things mesh well, but taken at face value they seem contradictory; why would your special talent be your destiny?) I like certain comic arcs so much that I really do consider them just as canon as the show. Especially Reflections is an arc that for me explains a lot about Celestia and her past. I'm taking up the same stance as many others: it's canon until the show says otherwise.
  23. I guess Twilight would be the first one, probably with Flash. I really hope that doesn't happen though, and that romance stays out of the show altogether, or failing that, sticks to side characters. I'll admit that that's mostly because of all my preferred ships though. Part of me is hoping they'll go the Legend of Korra route but I suspect that's a bit too much to ask. Edit: fixed typo
  24. Wasn't Flash Sentry going to get a role in season 5? I recall hearing about that somewhere. I mainly remember because based on his movie character I wasn't too pleased with the news.
  25. Sunset Shimmer ever since I watched Rainbow Rocks. Really need to write some shipping fics soon.
