  1. I don't remember anyone stating they believed I'm a girl online, though I'm sure at least a few people who have observed me on online media and lacked knowledge of me perceived me as female. IRL, I've been mistaken for a girl several times that I know of, probably because of the extremely colorful crossdressing and long hair. I had one old man some months back state he was heterosexual but actually found me sexually attractive. *giggles mischievously* I get a thrill whenever someone mistakes me for a female, or is uncharacteristically attracted. I've actually gone as far as laser hair removal to feminize my appearance, though I don't want to actually transition to a female. I just love being an androgynous flamer femboi. Of course, my fursona's even more of a rampant and shameless femboi than I am IRL (and a lot cuter).
  2. I tend to classify bronies into two categories due to a lack of better terminology. If there are brony terms for these groups already, I'd love to be apprised of that. However, like furries, I view bronies as either 'fans' or 'lifestylers'. The furry 'fans' like the furry artwork and to a degree the culture, but it is not a critical component of their lives, and they often act in contravention of the cultural traits which makes furrydom great. The 'lifestylers', such as me, view furrydom as a critical part of their lives and embrace the things about it which mundanes and 'fans' regrettably recoil from. Brony 'fans' are enthusiasts of the show, but little else. They may or may not adhere to most or all of the doctrine espoused by the lifestylers and culture as a whole, and thus tend to be the ones who cause the most trouble (not that being a mere fan of the show is bad per se, obviously). The brony 'lifestylers' also love the show, but are attracted to the community and the ideals espoused by the others and the show, and see bronydom as a critical part of their lives. Thus, the brony lifestylers such as myself are not going to use racial epithets, because that is in contravention of all the show and this culture stands for. Someone who just likes the show might be wonderful, or a racist prick, but are still a fan either way. They would NOT be a real lifestyler if they are the latter.
  3. I saw that and wanted to respond, but deemed it an erroneous use of my emotional energy. If someone wants to single themselves out on this thread by posting an offensive opinion, me objecting won't change anything besides put myself at risk of a conflict that is not imperative to start. Most here are with us on this, anyway. I suppose since I'm on permanent disability and thus have no employers to placate, and tend to limit my social interactions to trans-friendly subcultures, I'm more at ease on this subject than the average transgender person. But, I don't see much evidence of society's disapproval whenever I leave the house. I'm sure many people see me and think, "Oh, geez, he's screwed up/a sissy." or "He's living a sinful life. He needs to find Jesus.", and that those people comprise the majority opinion. However, I virtually never get any flak for my appearance. Most who draw my attention are inquisitive or appreciative, and this is a relatively conservative county (though it's suburban and near a city). So, despite society's overall disapproval, I'm not unhappy beyond a misanthropic "Most of you people are primitive buffoons." sort of casual anger. *blushes a bit as he tailswishes* Well, thank you! I do hope to galvanize more fembois and trans people with my words and aesthetical strategies and protocols!
  4. First of all, I almost think humanizing the ponies in these various movies should be a capital offense. It just is so repelling to me. So, I automatically hate these movies. As for the actual issue raised... Anyone who would go around disparaging people in such a manner is a brony in name only. Where in the series does the Mane Six or the royal family discriminate against or insult another race or species?
  5. Still playing Civilization 5 intermittently. I wonder how many other bronies play strategy games such as that,
  6. All I know is Epicurus's postulation (God may not be both omnipotent and benevolent because of the suffering in the world) on the nature of God is correct, and that divine intervention is relatively infrequent and inscrutable at best. Other than that, I don't know anything. I don't know if the number of deities is 0 or 361, or whether it/they give a crap about humanity or would find it amusing if we were all taken out before I finish writing this post. There is obviously no omnipotent deity who is preoccupied with our species and such trivial matters as where and in whom I stick my penis or choice in clothing materials. We're on our own at the very least a vast majority of the time, and I proceed accordingly. I neither fault God for the wrong in the world nor ask God for help. Not having to discern the motives and preferences of a fictional being greatly simplifies the extremely complicated art of strategic planning. I don't actively discriminate against those with a religion. I think they're misguided and foolish on at least that one matter, but, I do not needlessly wield my figurative sword against them. I have been aggressed for my political and social beliefs and other similarly unworthy things, and I very much disliked and protested that. Thus, I do not set out to make people's lives miserable merely because they belong to a religion. However, if someone causes me injury or discomfort through direct action, I will respond in kind. If someone tries to curtail my freedoms, that is tantamount to a declaration of war, and I do not treat enemies kindly.
  7. Ahh, 250 notifications since I suspended activity here to focus on urgent matters. Most of these are status updates, but at least one or two I guess are forum responses and brohooves.

Yep :3 happens when you are gone a bit XD

    2. Roketsune

      Roketsune

95% of them were new statuses. I may well turn off that option so only responses of some type are counted.

I useually turn off status updates if I know I will be away awhile, it really helps XD

  8. Relatively few 'fire-and-brimstone' people would be openly embracing a show designed for prepubescent girls which promulgates love and tolerance. Also, I've noticed people here generally have a superior level of discretion in that regard. Rarely do people start conflict here merely because they disagree with the OP. I don't know how those people have so much emotional energy that they can waste massive amounts of it in such pointless conflicts.
  9. Woohoo, I suddenly came across an intactivist brony this evening! Seizing territory on the Social Front with minimal effort is pawesome.

  10. Always nice to come across another intactivist, especially if it's a random and unsolicited encounter. I feel we're two comrades in the fight against the same conflict which made us casualties... Anyway, I'm agnostic, but I suppose for this thread's purposes and most others I count as an atheist. I reject religion as at best a crutch and at worst a cause of catastrophic foolishness and destruction.
  11. I sure am farting a lot this morning.

Thanks Roket, I needed to know that XD

Well this is now on the Internet....... Lol

  12. I think I scared off two bronies in a row during the course of private conversation. Oh, well, they're my first but ultimately minor defeats here.

      That's enough, ooBrony! XD

1.) Nah, Tangent, I wasn't referring to you, or anyone else who responded here.

2.) Nah, I won't. They merely constitute a failure to gain more territory on the Social Front, not a loss of what I already had. I have far more pressing concerns to fret over, anyway.

3.) Hahaha, nah, it was merely a matter of them not liking my answer on a topic we mutually consented to discussing. Them being scared of raccoons would have been pretty amusing and not completely unjus...

Damn thing ate the last part of my response.

  13. I love music with a high mental resonance. For some reason I'm imaging soldiers raising and firing obsolescent rifles when I listen to this anime song.

  14. I'm honestly surprised, now that this came to mind, he didn't come across cloppers and run enthusiastically with that stereotype. His repudiation is actually rather mild compared to the possible maximum. Also, if the Illuminati actually knew this would be a hit with adults ahead of time, I want in on their club. They're extremely prescient and smart and clearly like the things I do.
  15. It bothers me that this person has the same amount of say in our elections and referenda as I do. This is why I have turned against the idea of universal suffrage. Anyway, as with anyone else who is attempting to demonize unjustly a whole demographic, he goes for the most stereotypically girly and infantilist things he can find and uses that to base his assessment on. What this borderline mental case fails to realize is there are many bronies who are pretty masculine in general, and many have firearms. Yeah, I crossdress and love plushies and such, but I also love watching shit blow up and wish to acquire firearms when I can financially accommodate that. There's a gender spectrum, not two poles on which someone MUST belong. But, to him, either you're completely normal or are a sissy. I found it especially lamentable yet simultaneously amusing when he reeled off all the things a Christian man should be, all of which are in fact the things the show promulgates. I guess using this logic, I need to leave the brony scene because I'm an ardent agnostic and Faust and MLP is CLEARLY PUSHING A CHRISTIAN AGENDA!!!! Hahaha, anyway, I need to finish doing my nails.
  16. I'm still deliberating on that matter, but it's possible I'll be there.
  17. Welcome aboard! I am rather fond of Rainbow Dash, as I am aggressive, dominant, and loyal as well (though I'm far more feminine than she is despite being the opposite sex). I'm sort of what you would get if you combined her and Twilight Sparkle and Applejack: militaristic, logical and scientific, and virtuous. Also, there's not sufficient reason to feel defensive over your orientation for two main reasons: This forum subscribes to the iconic brony tenet of Love and Tolerate, and many of the people here are not heterosexual. Of course, seeing as MLP was designed as a show for prepubescent girls and most bronies are male, it makes sense many bronies are of alternative orientations. I'm bisexual and genderqueer. Also, I need to requisition some of these images to use for my own introduction responses. They're cool.
  18. Welcome to the forum, Serena! Incidentally, Twilight Sparkle is one of my favorite ponies. I wish I had the spare time and energy to read even half as much as she does, though.
  19. My favorite standard cereal is raisin bran, particularly the regular Kellogg's version. Especially when it's 50% off at Publix, it's quite economical in addition to tasty. Of the more 'dessert' sorts, I guess it would be the Krave or Chocolate Capt. Crunch.
  20. I probably reinforce them more often than contradict them, hahaha. Though, I don't speak of the show or subculture excessively and I'm not a clopper (though I do like more humanoid furry porn). I don't know how a brony is 'supposed' to look, so I'm not sure about that one.
  21. I'm glad I stumbled onto this thread, as I was wondering what was going on regarding this term. Recently my mentor came to me and said, "I learned something about MLP fans from Storage Wars last night. Bronies are the males and pegasisters are the females." I was confused both by the suddenness of the conversation and what he said, and I responded essentially, "Uhh, well, they're all called bronies, but pegasisters refer to females, yes." I don't remember what I said after that, though I'm sure it was accurate and enlightening despite me not being a brony at the time. Anyway... It sounds like there is not universal cultural convention going on that encourages each to use the 'appropriate' name, and that pegasisters are not supposed to be some kind of female sect that is apart from the subculture. I suppose one reason (possibly the main one) is the name just sounds too masculine to them. I actually read that the term was not inspired by the primary gender of the MLP enthusiasts, but that it had to do, IIRC, with the category nomenclature of 4chan. I have no idea if it's true, but it's something to consider. That being said, virtually everyone seems to be fine with the term. So, is this the only or main reason for this sort of voluntary separation/distinction, and does it go further than that? I would like to have a better understanding of this matter before I give my opinion.
  22. The game is not old enough apparently for it to be ordinarily heavily discounted. I kept seeing the expansion packs going for 20-30 each, or the complete version for 40-50. I almost decided against it, but then I found a company that sells discounted game keys which was actually reputable and acclaimed. So, I got it for 18 instead. SimCity 4 Deluxe was on sale at Amazon for 5, and the complete versions of Civ 3 and 4 are probably 5-15 each. Anyway, yeah, I've had much stronger and more frequent urges to game recently. I have had too much to contend with and contemplate to do any gaming online or otherwise for about 2 years, but I suppose I was just so exhausted emotionally that my mind was starting to demand some quality leisure time. Of course, finding a good strategy game which is also not expensive is itself a form of work. There are many types of games, from the RTS to the extremely intensive TBS (which I gravitate towards), of varying quality and possessing various distinctive features.
  23. Civilization 5: Brave New World. I hadn't played the first version in ages and I seemed to really suck at it despite being a tactician and strategist. But, I did very well my first time playing this version. I might have overpowered everyone on a religious and cultural level had I not become exhausted with a game I only had envisioned as a short practice run, especially after it became clear my field army was not up to the job of seizing the Swedish capitol.
  24. With all the stories I'm hearing about opponents being converted, it's only a matter of time before the President winds up being a brony and we take over the organs of government. *bursts into gleeful laughter*
  25. I doubt I'll ultimately convert many people who are hostile. I wouldn't be in proximity to such people often, and in the rare times I will, I'll likely either ignore them or fire a salvo in their general direction (whichever is more appropriate). And, neutrals I won't likely have much effect on because, as someone else said, I wouldn't have many appropriate opportunities to discuss it. I did remark to a local furry the other day he would make a good brony because of his very passionate attempts to be welcoming and inclusive (his actions reminded me of Pinkie Pie trying to make that grumpy donkey happy).. He didn't seem to have an interest in becoming a brony and I didn't pursue the matter.
