  1. I won't have children since I believe in eugenics laws and am disabled. However, disregarding that one... Maybe, I don't know, It would depend on the name and my mood. I do know I'd be pissed off if my theoretical daughter was named Twilight Sparkle and she wasn't interested in knowledge acquisition. I also know you had better live in a liberal area or a brony commune if you're going to name a child that, or they will be in for a world of hurt. Also, seeing the argument that has broken out here has reinforced my belief that there will always be a need for people to factionalize and divide into like-minded camps. I believe this is needed for furries, and it's also needed for bronies. There is too much friction otherwise.
  2. I watched the American Dad episode where he realizes he has no friends, and the one he does befriend is as much a far-right intolerant jackass as him. I immediately thought, "Holy shit, I'm just like Stan Smith! I only get along with other intolerant jackasses with the same ideology!" I do have a few friends, though, and will move in with one soon!

      The template it follows.

Yeah, I guess Family Guy does have a few things these days that is funny, but I cannot stand watching it anymore.

Yeah, that seems to be the template he operates by. I think Family Guy is less amusing to me because he overuses flashbacks in that one.

I find it hard to explain the humor used in Family Guy because I think only Seth Macfarlane understands it. I only would find American Dad funny because Stan essentially is the entirety of white, conservative, Christian men in the US. I like a good parody. The Cleveland Show is just Family Guy with more black jokes.

  3. Wow, that's a great deal of material in one post, Most of it I don't have a stance on and thus I won't comment on it. However, I definitely have observed the same thing you have about the senior leadership and how they interact with the userbase. One thing I have noticed is, while the sectional and general moderators seem quite involved as regular users, I very rarely see the administrators comment on anything besides official events/functions and moderation. They live in an ivory tower well above and apart from the rest of us, and this is conducive to an aura and attitude of arrogance and rigidity. I have personally witnessed this when speaking with two of them on a major concern of mine, and this was quite repulsive to me and turned me away from supporting the site. As you have said, there are many wonderful features of the place. IIRC, you said this place is extremely lively and is very conducive to rampant interlocution both culturally and through the design. The userbase, despite conflict being sited as a reason for banning this and that, is actually very mellow and rarely becomes combative. However, this major disconnect between the senior echelon in power and its users is a major threat to the well being of the site, and I hope it changes before there is a disaster or severe decline.
  4. Hello there, and welcome to the forums! I'm supportive of adults watching children's shows as well. And, I also identify to a certain degree with multiple ponies. The one I identify with the most is Twilight Sparkle, since I am very analytical and rational and like acquiring knowledge.

    hi

Greetings! Pinkie Pie is so delightfully random and insuppressible, isn't she?
  6. Hello there! I'm am also quite friendly unless provoked. A few just make it infeasible to be nice to them and I don't understand why. Anyway, you must be an enthusiast of Rainbow Dash since she's the best there is.
  7. I suppose the definition of the term is rather subjective, and some do not consider themselves sufficiently enthusiastic of the show to merit adopting the term. Of course, others have different reasons for eschewing the title. I tend to categorize bronies/show watchers into two categories: the mere fans and the lifestylers. The fans like the show, maybe are obsessed with it, but otherwise don't care about the ideals or community much. The lifestylers are more passionate about the moral and philosophical aspects and want to find others like them, and those are more likely to call themselves bronies (and those are who I gravitate towards). I would consider myself a lifestyler brony with a moderate interest in the show itself (I haven't even watched all of Season 5, probably not even the one before that). I called myself a brony since coming here in February during the great social campaign I waged (after the great housing campaign is completed I will do another social one). That being said, my primary identity is furry and my secondary one is brony.
  8. I just love some of the songs made for Japanese games! I'm currently latched onto three battle songs from the strategy game Brigandine, a Playstation game from the 90's (I'm an old fart compared to most of you).

I haven't been to any brony meets or conventions, so I don't know very well the average age of bronies. I think it's very similar to furrydom, though. Furrydom is also full of teens and 20-somethings.

    3. Scrubbed user

      Scrubbed user

I would estimate the average age of the bronies is somewhere between 14-20. There are quite a lot of people around here in their teens and very early 20's too.

I find there quite a lot similarities between bronies and furries, yet the two are completely different.

    4. Roketsune

      Roketsune

Furries might be a bit older generally. And, there are many similarities between the two. I've always considered them a sort of equine brethren and responded with great anger and indignation if a furry went after a brony before I formally became one. However, bronies are centered on a show, which is the core difference.

  9. Well, this is swell. One of the other tenants has completely turned against me for my disability and mischaracterized my life. Apparently, I watch MLP all day and have not a care in the world and am just lazy. I've never met a more presumptous whelp in my life. I guess brony hate is alive and well.

    3. Roketsune

      Roketsune

Yeah, I rarely get involved with other people or complain. I'm very careful about which things I start conflicts over. Usually it's not worth it even if I'm right.

    4. Mobius-99/305

      Mobius-99/305

I usually jump in when people are factually wrong. If they don't seem completely out of this bloody world...

  10. I have two of them, and have seen both transpire here with some regularity. 1.) When staff intervene and curtail discussion because of overblown concerns about internecine conflict or the idea espoused doesn't conform to their morals. 2.) When people are compelled to interject because someone has offended them, but offers no substantive argument for why they should be offended. They're just disgusted and want to tell the person this rather than debate or ignore the topic.
  11. Woohoo, I get to show off my femboy clothes for no reason other than unmitigated vanity! I usually wear this around the house. Outside I'm more resplendent and overtly furry/brony.
  12. Ahhh, wonderful. My Facebook account was locked for suspicion of using a fake name. While I had expected this for a long time, it happened during a violent and chaotic period, and was almost certainly caused by a so-called fellow furry. At least I got off one last post about today's exploits.

  13. There's a saying I very much believe in: Nothing ventured, nothing gained. What you describe is indeed 'safe', but does not empower you or grant you access to favorable interactions, either. I have very heightened vulnerability to anxiety and thus I have to limit my exposure to things that exhaust or distress me. Sexual and gender realizations actually never caused distress or guilt within me. My stance on friendship is, if they don't endorse your gender expressions, they're not real friends. You can 'separate the wheat from the chafe' by using this as a vetting tool. Those who oppose you aren't real friends. If either you are the chief tenant of the apartment, or there are no chief tenants and you all are on the lease as equals, their opinions don't matter at all. In any event, gender expression is federally protected under the Sex category under the Fair Housing Act. If someone tries to evict you for this (I am in exactly this situation), be sure to document it with audio and/or text and then complain to HUD or the local agency they refer complaints to (they do the latter if that local agency offers at least as much protection as HUD). You misperused the site I linked. Both satchels and totes are on that page, and what I have is exactly as you just described you had envisioned.
  14. I don't remember whether I answered this, but... Yes, I am both and am very obviously both with my clothes, though I am predominantly furry. I'm a flaming raccoon in a herd of ponies, muahahaha!
  15. Considering some of the things I openly admit and the fact I resplendently crossdress ordinarily, me being openly a brony is nothing in comparison. I have a very exclusive and preemptive social doctrine and don't live in a shitty area, so I couldn't give a fuck less who knows and what they think. Also, I had a little girl utterly enthralled with my appearance today. Her favorite pony evidently is Rainbow Dash, while mine is Twilight Sparkle.
  16. The excursion to do research and fight my discriminatory eviction by filing answer was a success. Much information was acquired, and a little girl who is a MLP enthusiast was enamored with my appearance. I told her and her mother Twilight Sparkle was my favorite pony.

  17. Hahaha, the staff quietly barred me from viewing the zoophilia thread, but evidently didn't delete my posts. The commissars still were a bit late, but far less so than they were with the pedo/hebephilia thread months ago.

As far as I'm aware, this one wasn't closed (though others were). I just can't see into it now. Whether it was because I provoked the staff with my humorous first comment (I did set out to do that) or the second one or both I don't know. It actually was a peaceful and civil discussion.

Yeah, I try to be very prudent when I say things which I know or fear will engender offense, particularly from those in superior positions. While I rather gleefully charged into there and took a jab at staff, I wasn't insulting. More like, "Weee, a controversial thread! In before the commissars lock it!"

  18. What I meant was, occasionally you'll have people not there for the conventions who, often because of being drunk, will want to accost a convention attendee. It probably happens very rarely, but there might be the incident here and there outside the venue every year or so. As you said, those communities are highly LGBT-friendly, and I have noticed those who are fixated on fictional matters tend to be more progressive in general. I've never had a negative experience from people at a convention, save for one time at Hooters (probably a place that doesn't see many femboys) when some idiot and his family started laughing uproariously upon seeing me and asked me nothing. That was disrespectful rather than actually threatening, though. Are you sure your perception is not distorted? In any case, I believe generally that kind of repression is destructive on a spiritual level, and I would exhort you to end it when you are capable. Heed well my advice on self-defense and related configurations if your environment is actually dangerous. Yeah, I very much value those small bags they sell which I have not seen elsewhere. http://lemonbrat.com/collections/satchels-totes I have the fox one currently. I would be very much screwed if suddenly I was unable to use my satchel bag. It also very much helps that the aesthetical qualities are congruent with my overall themes of color and animals and adorableness.
  19. Wow, that's awfully unfortunate. That probably happens from time to time at any large anime/brony/furry convention. I've actually never felt physically threatened and have very rarely felt it might degenerate into that. People probably assume I'm an entertainer more than anything else. The worst I got was a couple of likely stoners accusing me of being a pedophile. I've only lost spray once, and that might have been a case of theft at a furmeet rather than me having detached then forgot about the holster and spray. Keys are not much of a deterrent and they are an improvised melee weapon at best. You're going to wish you had a distance weapon if someone closes in to cause you harm. I have given great thought to my carrying configurations. I attach certain critical items like my wallet, spray, etc to my shorts under the skirt or a satchel bag. I have carabiners attached to a belt loop over each pocket. The left one is where my wallet strap and the magnetic keychain are fixed, and when I feel the need I can just pull my skirt up and yank apart the spray with minimal frustration. I then just reattach it just as easily. It will never detach unintentionally short of some extremely unlikely event. My small satchel bag from Lemonbrat has a metal loop to which I attach my stun gun and very small first aid kit. Inside the bag I store various things which I need to retrieve often and with little effort, such as cosmetics, my phone, other things, and my pepper foam for use in enclosed environments. The large tote bag contains various large items that I typically need often but cannot store in smaller bags. On the rim at the front I have attached a holster with a very strong clip, and inside is a large pepper spray canister which is ideal in either windy weather or if having to repel multiple assailants. The sprays are from UDAP and the foam from Streetwise 23. These brands I determined had the highest potency and thus the greatest effectiveness. Fortunately, I have not had to use any of these, but I have felt it prudent to hold onto spray on a few moments. The chance of being attacked is pretty low each time we leave the house, but there's a fair chance at some point we will have that one unfortunate encounter. Us femboys need to be particularly defensively minded. I stopped wearing them because my genitals kept slipping free, they were expensive, and I realized that until I find a sexual partner I am not going to impress anyone at all with lingerie because no one will see it.
  20. Wow, you must live in a crappy area. When I hear of things like that, I marvel at the fact I live in a supposedly quite conservative county, yet I almost never get negative reactions to my furry femboy look. I feel I have been spoiled all this time. Anyway, be sure to research and purchase pepper spray, and attach them so that you can quickly grab hold of them. I use a magnetic detachable keychain for my small one under my skirt, and my totebag is where my large canister's holster is attached (my plushie's head rests over the top of it, haha). You don't necessarily have to be transgender to be a femboy. I don't identify fully as either male or female psychologically. I am more feminine than masculine generally, but I also like being a boy and identify as one. So, I'm genderqueer and thus trans. However, some just like girls' clothes and otherwise see themselves as fully masculine, or don't consider the trans part prominent enough to merit labeling themselves as such. Thanks! I actually had an unexpectedly positive development this week. HUD had expedited my complaint after I stated an eviction summons was imminent, and I spoke to the intake person very rapidly as a result. On the day I discovered the eviction summons, I signed the complaint and e-mailed it back, and now it's being given urgent status in the investigative department's queue. This should get that arrogant buffoon's attention.
  21. Wow, this was inactive for over four months. Anyway, I'm actually facing eviction due to my crossdressing. The landlady fails to realize even femboys have rights, and trying to trample over a strategist/tactician femboy the way she has is not a great strategy. HUD and Lambda Legal hopefully will call me today and I will finally have others to help in directing this defensive. Also in the works is some clothing upgrades which should be done any day now. If she was upset over me being seen in colorful girly clothes, she's gonna hate the hot pink furry skirt and cuffs I will get soon. Also will have a new tail!
  22. I have some decisions to make about housing because of very adverse decisions made by the landlady of where I am living now. There are many routes to go and innumerable variances in various traits, and one of them is to rent a house or apartment myself and then seek out roommates, rather than the other way around which I have been doing for years. I am utterly inexperienced with this and thus I ask you all for advice. I have been living in a house with up to 5 occupants for over two years here, renting out a room for 350/month (including utilities). I have been very complacent and unimaginative with regards to housing, but I was forced not to be when she decided to evict me due to the supposed effect my gender non-conformity has on her business there (the effect is pretty much zero). There is a wildly unpredictable legal component here which will affect costs and timetables since I have to fight in court even for the 60 days she must give me, and to raise the discrimination issue (this is illegal under the federal Fair Housing Act and HUD's interpretation of the protected Sex category, in case anyone is in a similar position). Do I rely purely on state law and try to leave by 28 December, or do I rely on federal protection and appeal a loss which seems likely (I might get a judge who agrees with a pro-trans interpretation, though) after the state's statute is followed? Is turning this into a protracted siege worth the costs financially? Will HUD or any organization assist me with appeals? However, the other component is even more important, the housing strategy. Do I look for low-income subsidized housing (I'm disabled and get benefits for that), or do I look for a room? What filters do I use to prevent both information overload and endangering myself with a bad situation? What is my cut-off financially and with regards to public transit? Yesterday and today, I had a rather important realization, one that is late and I am rather embarrassed about given my identification as a strategist and tactician: I could rent a 3+ bedroom and then bring in roommates to sustain that, giving me control and saving me from having to rely on the tolerance and whims of other people. Of course, I have never done something like this in my life, and this is the largest public place I am a member of on which such a question is within decorum. I also would be preferring bronies and furries in such a circumstance, so it's also somewhat relevant to bronydom. I have minimal knowledge of this process and thus need advice. Are such places usually furnished? Are there costs involved that I am not aware of (beyond utilities or having to suffer if a room is vacant)? Is there a high likelihood even with proper vetting and precautions, I will have to contend with bad roommates? Will finding suitable roommates take over a month usually? Is it considered reasonable to lower my share of expenses and increase those of the others (like, if there are 4 of us, have them pay over 25% each and me less) if I oversee the place and pay the landlord? Should I actually look more towards buying a house with some sort of home loan instead (I have nothing for collateral and am already 6k in debt, but have decent credit ratings), and then rent the remaining bedrooms as I would if I was only renting the place to pay for the mortgage and utilities? I thank you all in advance for your assistance. I hope I can pursue this option so I can for once be in charge of things and provide a suitable place for upstanding bronies and furries and others to live.
  23. I have filed a transgender discrimination complaint to HUD against my landlady. The die is cast and war has been declared. Let the games begin!

  24. Wow, I'm the first one to post in 10 days. Anyway, I don't have a huge collection, but I do have several MLP items. Aside from my wallet, I have four items. The plushie and necklace serve purely aesthetical purposes, the tiny purse and the scarf serving both aesthetical and utilitarian purposes (though the purse rarely is used to store anything due to its extremely small capacity). I'm still experimenting with cameras and probably suck as a photographer, but, these should do. This is my Celestia necklace close up. The figurine isn't handmade, but it was turned into a necklace by SugarPopPartyShop on Etsy. This is my display outside my house this Halloween and most of them are not ponies obviously. But, alicorn Twilight Sparkle is on the left, from Build-A-Bear Workshop. This one includes the necklace, but also the Rainbow Dash plush purse (it's so small I attached it to my tote bag and use it almost exclusively as an aesthetical device) and the scarf. The purse is from some company called Accessory Innovations and is mass produced, the scarf is by KazzysPlushEmporium on Etsy. I would prefer to post only one picture of myself with the accessories, but I can't decide on less than two. Anyway, the first is from earlier with my companion Twilight, the second from tonight and showing the scarf as well as a fair amount of my fursona shirt. I don't expect my collection to grow much in the coming year due to financial constraints and competing aesthetical priorities, but, I'm sufficiently openly brony ordinarily I think, especially in cold weather.
  25. So, I'm facing furry and transgender discrimination by the conservative Christian landlady who became very menacing suddenly. After after having told her more or less to shove her unlawful threats up her ass, I shall now be even MORE furry and hand out candy to children. Viva la revolucion!
