Well when you don't get home from work until midnight it's not all that hard to stay up till 3. Then again I've never been a really solid sleeper :) Glad I'm not the only one!

  2. Hardly annoying! Welcome to the forums and I hope you get to meet a ton of exciting people while you're here. I studied French and German but I also volunteer at the community college helping teach English to people who are having some difficulty. I'm looking forward to getting to know ya!
  3. Welcome to the forums! Well, welcome again to the forums anyway. I love my gym but I'm normally there only three to four times a week due to my work schedule but it's something I love as well. Glad to meet another writer as well; hope you find the forums as rewarding as I do.
  4. Pepper jack, but specifically habanero jack.
  5. Nice to meet another married brony! Yours makes plushies and mine is creeped out by them. Welcome to the forums and if you wanna make some friends just start talking!
  6. Welcome to the forums! If you're looking to make some friends, you've come to the right place! Feel free to chat away and don't be afraid of jumping in on a topic or ten. Great to meet you!
  7. I've pretty much been punk all my days. Bands like Screeching Weasel, Pegboy, Rise Against, NOFX, No Use For A Name, and Strung Out to name a few. Also dabble into classic rock a bit as well as electronic/trance.
  8. Hey welcome Pine! I live in the Evergreen State so I'm all too familiar with those trees. I don't really come out in the public as a brony but I do get questioned about the plushies on my writing desk whenever people come over to visit.
  9. Time to date myself here. First game I can remember actually playing was Chopper Command on the Atari 2600. First one that got me addicted to gaming was Blaster Master on the NES.
  10. I generally only use it in situations where it's tolerated. Saying that, when I'm at work I tend to use the F-bomb like it's a comma most of the time. :\
  11. Where I'm at it's probably going to be a mixed bag. The news caused stocks to drop and everyone to flood the bond market which is most likely going to cause mortgage rates to plummet. Seeing as I'm in the odd position of actually owning a home it means I can refi at a rate that probably won't be seen again for a while. On the other side of the coin I live in an area right by the Canadian boarder and our economy gains a significant amount of income from Canadians shopping down here. That being said the affect on the Canadian dollar (which is not doing so hot anyway with the price of oil being so low) could cause even more problems. Seeing as the UK was like the 3rd largest contributor to the EU budget, it's going to put a lot of strain on Germany and France to keep things together. Assuming the EU can remain solvent that is without the UK.
  12. Solid work! Keep practicing even when you don't like certain aspects about what you're doing and you'll get some serious results. Also, hold onto these even if you shove them away in a corner. In a while you can rediscover them and see how far you've gone.
  13. Haha, man I do that too! I thought I was the only one.
  14. I'd still like to see a feature-length problem getting solved. Seems like all the other movies try and resolve things in the same 22 minute time slot as the show. Give me background and give me tension before the resolution.
  15. Funny thing is that I just called myself a dumbass a few minutes before reading this. So yeah, I talk to myself all the time. Doesn't make me crazy, right?
  16. Man that's a really solid question. I am however I take very calculated risks rather than flying off into something. The ideas that "risk comes with reward" and "nothing ventured, nothing gained" come back to bite you when life whacks you in the head with "I lost all my money betting on the ponies." I've taken lots of gambles in life; some paid off and other's...well let's say they ended really, really badly. This coming from a dude who just got back from Vegas a bit ago and hates gambling with a passion.
  17. Usually I don't even get to make the decision myself. I typically stick with higher quality stuff (like commissioning the plushie folks here) that's one of a kind rather than getting the same merch every other Brony has That and my other half gets less annoyed with me attempting to decorate the house with pony art. Saying that, she more or less put a hoof down on me getting more stuff...well that I tell her about.
  18. Eh it's something I've thought about for a while myself. I got into the show back in the summer of 2011 and kinda got to watch it grow from then. I still really dig it and love everything the fandom has done but it's definitely changed since "back in the day" as it were. Some of the big names in say pony music or vids have cut back and moved on but I see it as kind of a benefit as it opens the door for newer people to move on up. Who knows, it could be a good thing this late into the fandom as many of the folks hanging around are the ones who still really love MLP. The fanfics are still coming out and there's not too much of a shortage on art so there's a good bit of interested people out there, just kinda have to hunt for it. Yes I totally agree, I really got a serious damper put on my love for the show with all the extra hype and drama in 2013. It's become a good bit more chill which I think makes the fandom as a whole a bit easier to deal with. That and at least in my dealings there doesn't seem to be as much animosity about being a brony that there once was.
  19. Having commissioned you previously for an obscenely complex plushie that was probably on the top end of your 65 hour time estimation my heart goes out to you! The quality of your work and attention to detail belie the more than reasonable fee you charge for your services. Perhaps if more people realized before criticizing the seemingly high price of your plushies (ignoring the overhead like your equipment and space) that with just the cost of materials alone at the end of a 50+ hour plushie you’re making far below minimum wage for your time. It really seems to be a labor of love for you and I applaud your efforts and look forward to commissioning another plush in the future!

So we know you hate doing hooves, what's your favorite part of a plushies to do or does it change depending on the design? Do you imagine having any more interesting projects like the goat(?) You mentioned earlier?

Not to hog the floor or anything but do you see yourself continuing to sew and maybe do plushies after college? Think this is going to stick with you after graduation when work starts taking over your time? And do you prefer the term seamstress or sewer? Or quite honestly something else entirely

Good to know! Given that when people talk to you about the plushies they're commissioning or just chatting your ear off as you so sweetly put it I had another question You said you like working with the commissioners and making folk hapoy, given how personal your business is--making OCs which by definition are quite original--what level of involvement do you like? Do you like your commissioner letting you run on your own with your artistic freedom to guide you or do you prefer to have them in bear constant contact offering excited ideas and asking suggestions? Seems like a fine line to balance the time commitment with making such amazing plushies

Thanks for the answer! Kind of as a follow up, you mentioned that you use a lot of your hand-sewing time to get caught up on Netflix and the like. On a typical plushie, how much work is done by hand versus on the machine? What about the more complicated designs? What would you estimate to be your time commitment for a complicated plushie with a high number of accessories such as the totally amazing Littlepip you pulled off a bit ago?

Seems to be hard to get a word in edgewise around the Q&A meelee here. Anyway, this is obviously a craft you feel very strongly for and have an amazing amount of aptitude for as well. My question is about your enjoyment and level of self- fulfillment in your work. Do you gain more satisfaction by being pushed to more challenging designs rather than the ones that are more simple? Meaning is it more satisfying than frustrating? I'm a big fan of your work, keep it up!
