  1. I think alot of these criticisms are valid. However Twilight being OOC I take offense to. We have never had Twilight in a situation with a stress of this magnitude, so we have no situation to compare her character to like this. In fact episodes like lesson zero show that she is capable of risking friendships in a stress that is of considerably less gravity than what happened here. Twilight has a strong desire to succeed, and under enough pressure that has always led to her thinking in radical ways. Honestly I was waiting for her to make a radical decision somewhere because of how I felt her character is. This is extremely accurate to her character to me. I mean I wonder if I am watching the same show. Its like almost a constant thing for Twilight to start getting crazy thoughts under pressure. I am shocked anyone could view this as OOC. The only thing that keeps her doing well is working with her friends. Anytime she relies on herself its gonna be a disaster. That is why its friendship is magic, not Twilight is magic.
  2. It will need to double its budget to be considered successful I believe. It will do that over the weeks with domestic and foreign ticket sales most likely even if it is an 8 million budget. A sequel is very likely on the table already if thats the case I would say. Despite the seemingly negative press.
  3. Thanks ponies! I got a little emotional and started drinking when I wrote this, went alot furthur than I intended. But yeah I appreciate the warm welcome everypony!
  4. This show has changed me as a person and my entire perspective on life. I had become a sad pony after I had bad health issues, unemployment, betrayal by spouse, divorce, having to leave my hometown and being disregarded by every friend and everyone I ever cared about. During this time of recovery I lost my faith in my religion, then discovered that it was actually brainwashing cult. All my expectations of hope for the future shattered and all my fondness of my past crushed I had to relearn life as a whole. In all that happened I saw many misguided people. Many people with good qualities mislead by mistakes and poor choices. I began to feel that the only way I wanted to continue is to try to do what I can to make people see each other better. I began to see people from a different light. When I found good employment again I worked alot. I found that when I talked to people and responded I often had a sense of wanting to make myself seem important and special to them. Meanwhile I starved for a way to build my own qualities in a way to make them useful to others. I was always pretty antisocial before. So I had to learn alot. I looked for ways to be a better friend. I figured I needed to learn fundamentals if I were to get good at it. Thus I found the show. I studied it like I did when I was in my religion. I used to be extremely active in my studies of that religion. I began changing the way I conversed with people. Instead of saying things that made me seem important and special. I began to respond to people in ways that made them feel important and special. This is something I often repeat in my mind when I feel any type of negative emotion. "say what makes them feel special." I started to see even the most angry and negative people had shining qualities. I used to want people to get what I felt they deserved for bad behaviour. But now I saw those attitudes actually made them who they are. We make people into what we hate by hating them more for what we can forgive and overcome. Many times these negative people I can see become better if I make them feel I can trust them and make them feel like they are something special, that I am not blinded by their surface presentation. I also met my wife who is a fan of the show too. Our first date we watched the season 2 finale. By the season 3 finale we were married and lived together. I no longer care about living for the future, having a hope of an immortal life. I feel I can make people feel better in any way I can, no matter how small, then I live forever in my effect on the world. I have to thank this show though for helping me realize purpose in a time where I had little. Now though I think I understand what makes life special. You do!
  5. Twilight overcomes probably the greatest and most powerful friendship problem in the show. It is fantastic and a major respect to the vision of her character. They do her character perfect justice. Her character is designed to grow and develop. No better way is that done in this movie. It also establishes the unbreakable bond of a group of true persevering friends. Personally I think they represent her character faithfully and to the best effect they really could have in a theatrical film.
  6. Twilight will never be one thing. She was designed to always grow in her ability of friendship with the others. This conflict was absolutely true to the struggles envisioned in the bible of the show as she becomes a better friend. She will always overcome her challenges with the others to grow in the magic of friendship. growth is a big part of this show. If she did not have a large friendship conflict in the movie, it would have been a total betrayal of her character and completely at odds with the vision of her character and a utter lack of realizing the potential of the movies large theatrical scope.
  7. I was absolutely shaking with excitement and was tearing up soon as the pegasi appeared. I did alot of that through pretty much the whole movie.
  8. I wore my favorite, a twilight sparkle shirt on thursday. Then a rainbow dash shirt on friday.
  9. It cannot be correct. Because twilight says in s7 finale the seaponies can't help to spike. In the movie she was looking for hippogriphs completely unaware seaponies were a thing. So it would have to take place before s7 finale.
  10. I went and compared the audience ratings on rotten tomatoes with top films from the last 3 years. This is what I came up with. mlp movie: 89% logan: 90% wonder woman: 89% spiderman homecoming: 89% guardians of the galaxy vol 2: 88% baby driver: 88% get out: 87% it: 86% john wick 2: 85% war for the planet of the apes: 85% dunkirk: 82% beaty and the beast: 81% lego batman movie: 80% the fate of the furious: 73% cars 3 : 72% alien covenant: 57% valerian and the city of a thousand planets: 56% and here is 2016: zootopia: 92% deadpool: 90% captain america civil war: 89% moana: 89% hell or high water: 88% rogue one: 87% the jungle book: 86% doctor strange: 86% finding dory: 84% la la land: 81% batman vs superman dawn of justice: 63% 2015 now with links: the martian: 91% - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_martian star wars the force awakens: 89% - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/star_wars_episode_vii_the_force_awakens inside out: 89% - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/inside_out_2015 mission impossible rogue nation: 87% - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/mission_impossible_rogue_nation mad max fury road: 85% - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/mad_max_fury_road avengers age of ultron: 83% - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/avengers_age_of_ultron furious 7: 82% - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/furious_7 jurassic world: 78% - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/jurassic_world spectre: 61% - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/spectre_2015 So I would say the people who are seeing it are absolutely loving it. Apparently top 5 best reactions from movie goers in years. On par with star wars the force awakens.
  11. I saw a brony travel over 300 miles to see it. I traveled over 70 miles to see it on a thursday at 7pm. I had to get up at 3:45 am the next morning to work at a heavy axle plant. It did play closer the next day, so I saw it again. I just want to say you will find it worth every effort to see it on the big screen. You will feel so much better doing that than downloading it. And you can help this franchise. Its something you can do for Equestria! Do what you can for your homeland my fellow pony.
  12. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today 5-y&q=%2Fm%2F0czdsgs It was definately a much bigger trend. So I would say it would have done much better.
