  1. Bro no fucking way, these are amazing! Your mum should have been proud because I certainly would have been if a child of mine showed me these I think a few of us have had abusive parents/partners/friends on here so I think people understand :<
  2. Compression belt for my sciatica after finally seeing a doctor, maybe I can hopefully start doing her other suggestions down in the meantime.
  3. People talking about the molecular makeup of 2 different prescriptions and freaking others out by making them think they are similar when even the tiniest difference can change the effects mfer making people scared an opioid is similar to an SSRI in effects I am no expert on organic chemistry myself but that was painful to read. Confidently wrong Reddit is a special kind of hell.
  4. Did the new allergy tablets and nasal spray work?! I'm not sneezing every 15 min or feeling congested, it's a miracle
  5. Agreed, the way any kind of relationships are portrayed on TV tend to be so... skewed for a lack of better term, and especially considering it seems not enough people receive healthy modeling from their own families, those depictions are just another way this stuff unconsciously influences what people expect out of a romantic relationship. It seems shows that show healthier dynamics, or at least appropriate conflict resolution, are rare. It's not that I expect everything to be educational to the point of being sterile but right now things are heavily leaning towards really, really bad depictions and equally twisted "moral lessons" within those shows that seem to encourage excusing cruelty, breaking boundaries "for your own good" (if you hear this phrase anywhere, RUN) or handing out endless forgiveness in regards to abuse. Anyway!! Whoops. But yeah, growing up being on the asexual/aromantic spectrum meant I always shook my head at how absurd all those show depictions of romance are... once you are out of the equation and are merely on the outside looking in you start to think, holy shit how crazy is all this?

  7. Famished, didn't eat any dinner and I can feel a headache creeping in. -_-
  8. The moment I saw him at the door I knew he was going to be trouble, of course this guy comes in for work on early Saturday morning and the first thing he does is bitch at my coworker for something he wasn't responsible for and also couldn't help anyway. I got a bad vibe from him weeks ago so when my coworker told him "someone" complained rudely at him I IMMEDIATELY guessed who it was with no description given. Was happy to not see him come in for ages and of course the first time I see him in so long he starts trouble. What the hell do you expect from just two staff members on duty with a very constrained time limit? I already spent the hour tending to the problem to make sure it's not WORSE. It's not like we have any form of supervisor or manager on site, she just turns up once in a blue moon to nitpick every tiny thing then not clarify whatsoever on how we can do her suggestions. Don't get paid for this enough, I truly dislike working with shop staff on site when I'm in and miss when I was a key holder so I wouldn't be in the vicinity of passive aggressive asses.
  9. Happy about my violin session today, I can call it a day now and just chill lol. Didn't do EvErYtHiNg but stuff is going okay so I'll do a little bit of the rest tomorrow, hopefully
  10. Ones that engage the class and encourage critical thinking and discussion rather than just lecture AT you. Have good enough social skills to encourage students and critique them in a positive manner than a destructive one. Passionate about their subject to a degree their excitement about the material makes you like it too. Can think out of the box and come up with creative and unconventional ways of doing a lecture in a way that promotes better learning. Oh, shouldn't forget - they don't get offended at difficult questions or challenges to what they're saying, and can openly admit to not knowing how to answer a question rather than give evasive and defensive non-answers. A rare kind but a gem when they come by, those are capital T teachers who truly earn their mentor status and aren't just petty failed authoritarians towards their students with a God complex about their position.
  11. I'm a serious pony I seem to strictly read nonfiction these days but this sounds like a really fun idea so I didn't vote against, happy for the people into fiction books who can participate I do agree with Tao that accessibility to material may become an issue if the club is to be successful, is there any way to ensure everyone manages to get ahold of copies they can read? E-book alternatives might be good and cheap for people. From the OP I assume the books chosen will be decided through vote which might help reduce the risk of people getting left out. I'm not opposed to helping people out in getting copies of stuff if it comes down to it so they can just focus on the fun part. Also while not obviously a major announcement of any kind I do wonder if this poll deserves to be visible in the Announcements for most visibility if staff are ok with this? It sounds like a cool thing for the forum to host so it may be appropriate to do that
  12. I think I know what ExplosionMare's favourite Pokemon move is......
  13. The older I get the more I feel this, even just looking at some stuff I can feel my insides recoil in horror at the thought of trying to process certain things going to go vegetarian over the course of my life I can feel it lol I think the further north you go in Europe the more the cuisines seem like they hate eating... does that answer the question...?
  14. On pause but I was doing a BSc in Ecology and Conservation, and also took an elective on Social Psychology. Would have liked to take on more psychology, anthropology, astronomy or other interesting electives but alas These days I might have even considered doing a BA instead rather than a BSc, and focus more on the policy, anthropology and social issues side of things, but not sure. Why must choosing be so hard omg
  15. Can't be much worse than the fact that tomato juice exists... ^ heartless, loveless, cold universe I have the MOST uneasy suspicion that this has been done already
  16. And soup can become ice cubes in the freezer for extra yumyum nutrition fuel to be used in your iced coffee #grindset
  17. There's a local shop that's a barber shop with a coffee bar, they serve some foods as well as drinks, I've even seen alcohol on their shelves don't go there often enough but it's nice. Also my hometown suburb is known to be the coffee shop district of the capital so how's that for coffee shops I'm not sure which coffee shop is my favourite, I have fond memories of a number of them on the capital from hanging out with friends there. I like having a proper coffee culture that isn't just Starbucks chains.
  18. LOVE iced mochas, but still don't know how to make the darn things at home so you'll most frequently find me with hot brews but make no mistake, cold is the best.
