  1. I always felt that The Nightmare Before Christmas got way more praise than it deserved. Probably because I'm not a fan of stop motion animation by any means, but I felt the story was bland and the characters weren't really memorable. It was more of a "goofy" setup on a play-on-terms with the theater genre and a parody of holiday specials. Also, Beauty and the Beast is a great movie, but I felt that it's even more enjoyable when it goes on stage. I think it fits more as a theater number than it does as animation, but that's just me.
  2. Pretty much @Artemis and @~Chaotic Discord~. Both have been very nice to me in my time here and I'm so happy that they have became valuable staff members. Thanks, guys! ~~
  3. Oh boy, this topic lol. Reliving these days makes me realize that I was one of the most gullible kids out there. Believed in Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy. Thought that Superman and Batman were real. Thought that black people had a skin disease (-_- STUPID STUPID STUPID) Believed that the television was a portal to an alternate dimension that we couldn't enter. Thought that clouds were made out of cotton candy Thought that wetting the bed was the cause of my teddy bears (.....0_o) Adults didn't have to do anything all day when their kids were at school
  4. I could hope contribute articles if you wish. I've done some gaming sites in the past so this shouldn't be that complicated.
  5. Name's "aegisreflectingshield". I'm usually on all the time so give me a request and I'll accept. But I'll tend to only accept those who I know of fondly on here.
  6. Walt had a passion for what he did but he was VASTLY interested in his company making money. He produced 5 feature films in a row during WWII that only appealed to certain international markets so that he could ring in the bucks while his other more noteworthy movies like Pinocchio or Dumbo were banned.
  7. "Moral standards"? The only movies that I found remotely "immoral" or not up to kid-friendly standards was Home on the Range, just because, you know, they didn't even attempt to do valid research on culture thus leading to vast amounts of stereotyping.
  8. The only history worth studying is that of Equestrian.
  9. We shall all travel to feld0's house, hide in his closet, then appear out of the darkness as he walks in screaming "OOGA BOOGA BOOGA". It will be hilarious as feld0 looks for about 10 seconds, says "Oh, there are my keys.", then walks out of the room, none the wiser. We shall then trash his place, watching MLP all night long and obviously TP the outside up. I just hope feld0 has a big closet.
  10. Since I'm virtually NO GOOD at drawing ponies or making OC's on the Internet, you said we could post a simple picture?
  11. Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's try this again.

Dashie appeared to me in a dream, and told me that I had violated the holy laws set forth by Princess Celestia, and that I would be sent to Guantanamo Moon if I didn't come back to the sacred place that is MLP Forums.

      :o

  12. And with that, I will officially become a lurker. Sorry my fellow ponies.

It isn't enjoyable to post on topics that are egotistical, prejudiced, and redundant. Same topics, different story. New topics, negative morality. Kind of hard to explain but I can assure you the essence is there and the Brony philosophy is changing into more of a superiority complex.

Fandoms are always like this, and bronies are no different. That negative energy was always present. It's just the recent controversies that have caused them to surface. All you're seeing is the worst of the fandom, but there are plenty of great things as well. With time, perhaps we'll see those great things come back. Ultimately, it's your choice, but it'll be sad to see you go.

I'm not really leaving. I'm just gonna be a lurker from now on. I might post once a month or something like that.

  13. No WiiU port means no chance in hell of me buying it, unless I save up a shitload of money for a new PS3. Which is a shame considering I really wanted to play the reboot. I despised Underworld.
  14. I don't understand why everybody hates DBGT so much. I mean, the first 16 episodes I'll admit were kind of stupid but then after the writers realized that straying from the dramatic tone that DBZ basically formed didn't go well over with established fans, the rest of the series was really satisfying. I enjoyed SSJ4 Gogeta and the fight with Omega Shenron, one of the best action arcs ever conceived in anime. Anyways, pretty much agree with shows like Spongebob, Dexter's Lab, etc. I never understood why Ed Edd n Eddy decided to go into the characters going to school later in the series. It just seemed so out of place for them to be in an education environment.
  15. For best fries, it's honestly a tie between Wendy's and Five Guys. Shocked at the many Wendy's haters in this topic, I think they taste pretty good, what with the sea salt addition and everything. Five Guys probably tops Wendy's though when it comes to quality and cut, plus they don't use a tremendous amount of salt (but still very greasy). Worst is definitely McDonald's. Soggy and way too salty for me, although sometimes when I'm stuck to go there they give out fries that are actually cooked really well.
  16. I think it works with Adventure Time because it's a totally different style of humor and plot writing than FiM. I personally don't care what kind of form Twilight is in. As long as she stays in the cast I'm perfectly okay with it.
  17. I never really knew you, but I have seen some of your work around here and you seem to be an all around cool person. Have fun in retirement! Try not to sip too much cider. X3
  18. I think my Senior year (12th grade) was ultimately the best. I just have the most fond memories, obviously because of graduating and starting my new independent life, but it was also the year of everything seeming to fall into place. Plus, at my graduation ceremony, some of the students blew up condoms and whipped them around as balloons so the whole administration got pissed off. But the audience ironically booed them everytime they got rid of the condoms so that was really funny.
  19. I also heard a rumor that using Aloe Soap in the shower decreases HIV as it soaks into the skin. It might be true, we just need more tests on these kinds of theories. But if this does become plausible, I'd gladly take a sting over getting AIDS lol.
  20. Well, then I guess I'm dumb then. I mean, the money part I can agree with like NFL and NBA teams, but since I'm more of a NCAA guy, I think that if the players genuinely express interest in getting a scholarship from a university that they do want to represent that team and the community. That's what students do when they look for colleges anyways, the environment (community) and whether or not they can afford the change. And think about this, when athletes graduate from high school, it's not like every city/town in the country has a college they can play in. And again, when people move up to the NBA or NFL, it's not like every community has a professional team. People are gonna have to move around in order to play. There's nothing wrong with cheering on a team that's in your community with that logic, because if these athletes are interested in playing for that area then they are trying to dedicate something to them.
  21. Yes. Yes they are. Because they are a part of the team. Once they commit and don the uniform, they are running for the Americans. Culturally, maybe not. But for sport, they do. So, from what I understand, if a team like Syracuse was structured so that every player was from the Syracuse area, then it becomes "meaningful" to root for the team? Head coach Jim Boeheim, who has currently 911 wins (2nd most in NCAA history behind Coach K of Duke), has been coaching the college team for 37 years now and calls Syracuse his home, but he was originally from Lyons, NY. So, is it really "meaningless" to root for a team that has been coached by a dedicated individual who basically is giving his life up for the game in our community? Your home is what you make of it, and what you do there is planting more seeds that evolve into roots. This is why "rooting" for a team is special to some of us, because it shows love to our community and the dedication these athletes have put into whatever game they are playing.
  22. That doesn't make any sense, especially under NCAA. If the players are going to a certain university (I'll just use Syracuse for an example) and are committed into playing for their basketball program, then why does it matter where they're from? If they have great talent and they play for YOUR community for at least 4 years, they will leave some form of impact with the area's people. We have a few Canadians on the team, some foreign exchange athletes, and only 2 of our current players (Brandon Triche and DeJuan Coleman) are from the area (and not even in the CITY of Syracuse, but in the suburb of Jamesville-DeWitt). But, fans treat them with the highest regards because they play with heart and they have solid dedication to their team. Even if they aren't from the area, they want to please their fans and to make an impression on other areas. Take Carmelo Anthony for example. He only played one year in Syracuse and was originally from Brooklyn. After he was part of the 2003 Championship Team, he went straight to the NBA. But we have had parks, athletic centers, and courts named after him because he was a big part of Syracuse culture.
  23. I love sports and have participated in many over the years. Basketball is my favorite, been playing on teams since I joined Boosters in 1999. I actually remember watching old NBA on NBC games with Michael Jordan and just thinking that I wanted to be like him someday. Weeellllll, times change and I went into the animation interests lol, but that still didn't stop me from playing the game. I am currently in a college league but not on a team. The guys in the NCAA are waaaaay too talented over me lol. I discovered I loved running when I was in middle school, and so I joined both the Cross Country and Track teams around 2006. Again, haven't stopped since and I have been in a lot of invitationals, half-marathons, and overall just for fun runs! I think my fastest mile time is a 5:58 and my 5K PR is like 20:46. Not bad considering I was sssslllooowwww as hell during my first year. I remember running like a 36 minute 3 mile lol. I've also done Lacrosse (which I've recently taking a renewed interest in), Cross Country Skiing (for only one year, thought that sucked ), Bowling (Still do but recreationally), Archery (Again, recreationally but I once was in a high school league for it but they cancelled it in my Freshman year >.>), and Soccer (Thought that sucked and quit mid-season lol). Basically, the only major sport that I didn't really like in high school was Football and Wrestling, and that's because I'm not a muscular guy by any means. I tried getting into Tennis but I wasn't fast enough for those damn lob serves haha.
  24. I can't stand fan music that professes their "love" for another character in a ballad. It gets repetitive and really weird. Even fan music that merely covers songs in the show are always sung by some male who has a terrible voice and doesn't fit the atmosphere of the original composition. And yeah, I also can't stand how Brony music is part of the remix culture, a branch of music I do "despise".
  25. I didn't know hating Brony music was hating music in general, or that it's an unusual standpoint to dislike something. Guess you learn something new everyday!
