  1. I'm a big fan of traditional animation, but I liked the cheap Flash style that FiM uses and it is certainly pleasant to the eyes. However, like CGI or computer animation where you can just take drawings and make them stiff and stale (FAMILY GUY), I believe that this medium will be milked to death by other major animation studios. It will most likely be a fad that will quickly come and go in maybe 6-10 years. It's unfortunate, but it's also reality. You can compare various animation styles certainty by decade (such as distinguishing "sketchy/pencil" 80's with the more "realistic/sharper" 90's) and it's all because of the coming and going of such fads.
  2. Like I stated in my Blog, I believe in Agnosticism but in a way in which I feel that nature is the universal spirit that keeps us in balance and the force that provides for us rather than a God/omnipotent figure or any other "prophet" like Jesus or Muhammad. I turn to science whenever I need something to be solved. I believe that even the most confusing aspects of our lives can be solved using reasoning and scientific thinking. Not that I think faith is illogical but I do when people use it in the most oblivious of ways (like doing a very morbid thing just because they thought they saw God and he told them to do it). I just can't get that aspect. I also don't believe in sin. I think of a universal order. If you be kind to nature and all the inhabitants in the world, that's all that matters, even if you, say, don't prayer or have sex before marriage. Do whatever you want that doesn't harm you or the rest around you, it doesn't matter. I also don't believe in Hell. Yes, even the bad people like Hitler get taken into a place where there's no suffering. I don't think this makes me heartless, I just think that the afterlife is one universal place that all living things go when they die and they can do whatever they want without harming others. I'd like to think of that as a perfect world, regardless of their past behaviors.
  3. THANK YOU for bumping this. I've been wanting to have a solid discussion on this season! Here's the Top 10 Ranking Teams in the nation, provided by the AP Poll. I don't necessarily follow the Coaches Poll because that's loaded with bias. RK TEAM RECORD PTS 1 Indiana (45) 8-0 1,605 2 Duke (20) 8-0 1,577 3 Michigan 7-0 1,467 4 Syracuse 5-0 1,384 5 Louisville 6-1 1,332 6 Florida 6-0 1,324 7 Ohio State 5-1 1,254 8 Arizona 5-0 1,190 9 Kansas 6-1 1,079 10 Gonzaga 8-0 1,054 UK isn't even ranked anymore, which while it is a shock to many fans I personally don't care. I hate their guts and I hope they don't even make it pass their own conference's championship haha. (Yeah, yeah, "love and tolerance" and all, but come on, I don't think that principle even applies to sports haha). I'm so glad Ohio State is finally ranked. They put up a great game against Northern Kentucky. I'm just so mad that they lost to Duke, though. The refs in that game had some really shitty calls. Indiana is doing alright but I don't think they'll be number 1 material give or take a few more weeks. They've had a really easy schedule. Teams such as Michigan, Syracuse (Yeah!), Louisville (Who!), and Gonzaga are typically placed in these spots as previous seasons has taught us. I didn't catch the game between Louisville and Duke (which I wanted them to stomp) but I heard it was pretty fanatical.
  4. I find them extremely overrated. I used to be somewhat of a fan but that has died down as of recently, just listening to most of their discography. To be quite honest, I never liked any of their music after their album Beatles For Sale, when they started to dip into the LSD and focus more on psychedelic rock in 1965. I really couldn't get into any of the compositions, some of them being annoying ("I Am The Walrus"), weird ("Magical Mystery Tour"), and just downright not pleasant to listen to ("Revolution Number Nine"). I truly think that once they broke up in 1970, the members themselves bounced back with their solo careers, especially Lennon and when McCartney formed The Wings. "Imagine" and "Silly Love Songs" are among my favorite tunes, without any of the psychedelic mess that accompanies the piece, they both have memorable beats and messages. And, again, I didn't really find the "Lennon-McCartney" writing formula to be that groundbreaking either. If anything, I think Jim Morrison, lead lyricist and singer of The Doors, was a better poet and depiction with his music, but again, my own personal opinion.
  5. Name: AegisReflector Location: Syracuse, NY Favorite Pony: Dashie/Spike because he kicks ass. Skype: aegisreflectingskype I'd feel more comfortable though if this was a group thing rather than just a one-on-one meet up. Not that I'm shy, but I would just like to have group Brony conversations.
  6. You'll get those sorts of characters in any kind of fanbase. Heck, I used to perform Kamehamehas on every person I encountered in the hallways of my high school when I was feeling like a very stupid freshman fanboy. Aaaahhh, good times.
  7. The scene where Trixie unleashes her weak lightning attack on Rainbow Dash that tickles her actually reminded me of the scene in Episode 3 where Palpatine UNLEASHES HIS FULL POWAAAAA!!! against Mace Windu and shoots him out of the window, with Trixie's lines being replaced by Palpatine, of course lol. Good work! I'll say it as well, the prequel trilogy were some of the most massive disappointments in the history of science fiction, but some dialogue is just so bad that it's good.
  8. I think it's because as humans, we like to just rant on things that seem very insignificant or stupid to us that we can't just hold at all inside. It gets more of a rise out of people to post why they dislike things rather than why they like it, at least that's what I see. Especially in everyday college life. People on the phones just love to badmouth people behind their back or just love the drama of hating things without no rhyme or reason. >.>

    movies/tv Bill O'Reilly

I despise the man but only because he's just so harsh with his guests. But, then again, so are shock jocks like Rush Limbaugh and Howard Stern. I just view him as another man who's just trying to create shock and disgust just so his show gets more ratings and he can make more moolah. In no way should he actually portray the mindset of the Republican Party. Let the actual politicians do that.
  10. He just wasn't a character who was developed enough in order to have a memorable personality and impression on the fanbase. If the writers extend Sombra to do something other than go BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! then I can see him becoming one of the more memorable villains, what with his mysterious background and kickass appearance.
  11. I watched Futurama when it was still on Fox. I truly thought it was going to burn The Simpsons into the ground because the humor is a lot more clever and sophisticated, has many genius references, and established an environment that can pretty much go anywhere. I was mad when they cancelled it after a few seasons, so much hate for the Fox executives who only liked the stupid humor The Simpsons and Family Guy produced. Now, watching the recent episodes on Comedy Central, I love it even more. While I think it's turning more into a "drama comedy" akin to those like The Office, I think it still retains that shine that no other cartoon can beat. I think my favorite character is Bender, because he's the one I can most relate to. I can be a relaxing and resilient guy, but once you get to know me, you'll realize that I'm truly sympathetic and willing to help my friends in dire times of need.
  12. If this was concerning a show like Breaking Bad or The Walking Dead, then I would be more inclined to agree with your annoyance at this other plot point. But, bare in mind, this is Friendship is Magic, a show designed for families and, more specifically, kids. If they were to design the episode especially for us Bronies, they would take more time to edge out flaws and have more continuity between episodes, but Twilight having her seemingly powerful magic training reduced to just levitating animals is most likely just an oversight on the writers part because they are writing episodes on a kid level, not a teen or young adult level. I honestly didn't pay attention to the logistics of Twilight's magic lesson. I paid attention to the duels between Twilight and Trixie, the main focus of the episode. I would like to say that Bronies sometimes take episodes waaaaaaay too seriously when FiM doesn't try to make complex storylines. It merely just tries to brighten our day with cute but heroic and epic adventures of 6 awesome ponies, nothing else. Just be happy that the Trixie storyline was enough to make you interested in the episode, and don't overdo yourself by focusing in on elements that are just not really that major to complain about. I don't think it was "dumb", just think that writing on a level for children to understand is what makes storylines sometimes too linear or kerskuffled.
  13. I can just imagine Pinkie Pie's tank version of the party cannon. Would be such a formidable weapon, lol. This is such a creative work of art, and so random at the same time. Thanks for this, this made my night.

    movies/tv Fox News

If any news program has no bias, tune into CBS' This Morning show. They actually have a lot of stories that don't lean towards anything and the guest speakers they get are really great on looking at the actual issues rather than blatantly criticizing it to oblivion. I hate Fox News. Hate it to the point of just basically banning it from my television. All the speakers on there are right-wing trash that just bash anybody who doesn't conform to their twisted mindset. Granted, I hate CNN and MSNBC as well but Fox News really takes the cake.
  15. I think I was very shy when I was in elementary/middle school, because my friends always associated me as being the bookworm who never came out of his room or something. I don't remember, I always try to talk to people if I have an interesting topic or something lol. I have a cousin who has a major problem going out in public and I'm actually trying to help him out with that fear. He hates driving, taking the bus, even going into the store just to get something quick. I think it's good to have some sort of interaction with the outside world just because you need to have that social instinct inside you if you're gonna do simple things, like go to the post office, order something, go to the movies, etc. With me, I only get shy around people who are complete assholes but it's the first time meeting them. I always hate when one of my friends introduces me to a complete stranger who just comes off as a straight douche. I barely talk under those circumstances.
  16. Why are badges becoming such a huge issue nowadays? I don't care if a member has 10,000 posts or 25 posts, if they make a good quality post that's informative, quirky, fun, etc., then that's all that matters to me. I haven't seen anybody feel superior with their post count or have bragged about their badges. It must be all in your minds. EDIT: Yyyyeessssss, my goal of almost becoming a Pony is complete! I shall take over [Chaotic Discord]'s total posts soon enough! gahahahahahahaha
  17. I might not have the best flank in the world, but if we were to greet each other at BronyCon I would be honored to shake my money maker for the sake of the secret Brony hoofshake.
  18. I believe the established "hoofshake" should follow as such, brought to you by two of Equestria's finest citizens. Do a lil' shake!
  19. Don't know about you, but I've seen many posts from Muffin rank members that get many brohoofs. This community is very good about reputation and I don't see any popularity bias. i c wut u did thar feld0
  20. Absolutely hated the way they did the show's art styles. Gainax did a terrible job at "replicating" a western-type of animation. Plus, I hate scatological/stupid humor in general so that further disinterested me.
  21. Doesn't Nicktoons and Teen Nick pretty much cover all those basis? I know I go on Teen Nick for Drake and Josh, The Amanda Show, and All That and then Nicktoons for Avatar, Ren and Stimpy, Hey Arnold, etc.

The giant "Help" button at the top of every page of MLP Forums should be the very first thing you click when you run into something weird on this site. It takes you straight to the tickets.

  23. Not the point of the article. Plus, they do mention AJ later in the article so that should be good enough. I think it's great that major news outlets are taking this sort of social barrier breaking in stride instead of doing it TMZ-style and just ripping it to shreds. Adding the US military into the mix might generate positive reception towards the show too (or wackjob haters, but a guy can hope) and break any sort of doubt for the show just because of the huge male fanbase. However, that one commentator compared FiM to the 1960's Batman show......not sure how Batman compares with FiM at all......but hey! Remember kids! Batman apparently has something in common with ponies!
  24. I got to Phoenix rank at about 3 months now. I have periods where I just simply lurk because I'm too lazy to contribute anything (It's tiring being a college student lol). By this rate, I think I'll be a Pony by Christmas.
  25. It's because Hasbro has to stick with their original designs aimed for their primary demographics (little girls). If they appealed to the Bronies, it would probably make the other children turned off by the new design and you can kiss those profits goodbye. Hasbro has also made it clear that the toy franchise and the show are two seperate fields. Sure, some characters from FiM make it to the product line but other than that, there's no "Faustian" design or any "Brony" fan suggestions added.
