What kind of music do you think your favorite pony listens to?

I think Big Mac listens to Country or even something more unexpected like Jazz or Opera. I think Shining Armor would listen to Rock or something else casual.

I can see Rares being very diverse in the types of music she listens to - it really depends on her mood

When she's feeling elegant and regal, she likes opera and classical - I can see her favorite instrument being the Harpsichord  Not really fast classical, though - slow, smooth, soft stuff that you can slow dance to.

 

When she's in her more artsy mood, though, I can see her being more into artists like John Mayer, Teddy Geiger, the Goo Goo Dolls, the Arctic Monkeys, Jack Johnson, Temple of the Dog, U2, the Replacements, the Smashing Pumpkins, and Pearl Jam. I can see her particularly enjoying the Smashing Pumpkins out of that group - but that's when she's being more artsy and expressive

I see Rarity's taste as being pretty diverse, as long as the production doesn't have too many holes in it she could find a situation where she'd enjoy most genres to some extent. At least appreciate them as artistic expression.

I would say that Pinkie would probably listen to like, party music or something? Derpy would listen to muffin songs. Twilight would be pretty diverse in the music she listens to, but her favorite is probably orchestra stuff. I could see Rarity listening to orchestra stuff also. I can see Fluttershy listening to soft music like flutes, but she seemed really in to Aucopela (dont know how to spell today...) during the Ponytones episode. Rainbow definetly listens to some form of rock, but it would be interesting to have an episode with her listening to something like soft music. Applejack listens to country, like in Raise This Barn.  Celestia would probably listen to something unexpected like pop. Luna listens to peaceful music. Applebloom listens to country also. Nightmare Moon listens to something like Korn (go look it up )  Vinyl listens to dubstep and rap, which is also my genre of music, including classic rock. (plus MLP music from the show. )

Sweetie Belle would most likely listen to happy feel good music like Everything is AWESOME, and Happy, but of course the Cutie Mark Crusaders theme. Spike would listen to the cool sounding rock songs being a guy dragon, Pinkie Pie would listen to upbeat songs that would play at a carnival or party same as Cheese Sandwhich except possibly different bands, and the background pony NO IDEA!

Well, I would think she would like classical at first, but after coming back after 1000 years, I can see her getting into some metal and, eventually, symphonic metal. I think she would appreciate the complexity and musicianship of both orchestral and metal music, and I think she can appreciate the somewhat aggressive tone of some metal out there.

 

I can see Trixie being an indie lover, but also of punk ska.

 

As for the KING OF SHADOWS, maybe he would like some death metal?
