Do You Get Depressed/Angry When Your Waifu Is Officially Taken In The Show?

As we know there are many shippings that go on in the brony fandom and it makes for awesome fanfictions. But in the MLP show, most of the ponies are single. Although there are many rumors that relationships will take place such as a pairing between Twilight Sparkle with Flash Sentry and Celestia pairing with Discord.

But some bronies form strong relationships with their waifus and even though their may be some fanon shipping, the ponies are still technically single. This allows many bronies to put themselves in romantic situations with their waifus and are especially fascinated with the "You and X pony romantic fanfictions" I can understand this as the ponies in the MLP universe are amazing beings that would make the perfect partner in real life. Basically being more attracted to their personality than the pony itself. In my opinion, the personalities of many of the ponies are so kind and awesome that many would fall for their waifus as many humans in our world are hurtful and unforgiving at times. The ponies on contrast even at their worst would never turn their back on their friends or partners due to their nature. I mean they forgave Discord twice after all the hell he put Equestria through. Humans in our world can hold grudges over little things and many even break up with their partners for stupid reasons at times.

However, if a pony you have made your waifu gets taken in the show, does that make you depressed or angry? Sure the ponies are been paired in fan made stories but since it was not official in the show, you could still "have a chance" sort of speak.

My theory is once your waifu is officially taken in the show, that makes reading those "You X Pony" fanfictions or artwork less valid meaning since they are taken you cannot pair yourself with them as the pony is not willing to break up with their partner just to fall in love with you as I dont think cheating or having an affair would be allowed in the MLP universe lol.

But I personally don't mind, I think that letting other's have some fun is more important than getting what I want... Especially since, at the end of the day, I would rather have a real gf to cuddle & cherish over a dream one... Nothing against them of course, just that it is my personal opinion... Besides, it is more important that my friends can have their happiness over anything I would get, because I would feel guiltier than anything if I ever took something someone else wanted, or forced someone into doing something they didn't want to do... So until the day a human Fluttershy walks into my life & begs to marry me, but someone else takes her from me before I can even respond (unlikely but hey, it is hypothetical) I'm fine with others having their time with their ideas & hopes

Well... There really hasn't been anything like that so no, not really, I don't get jealous. Plus I would imagine the writers would again make the characters as happy as possible so... Who am I to ruin a fictional characters happiness?

Thats the thing, many claim their waifus since she is technically single and not taken by another pony in the show.

 

Recently for example there have been some threads with hints of flash sentry marrying Twilight Sparkle and Celestia possibly partnering with Discord as with the flirting moment at the end of Season 4.

 

This had many bronies upset and many despise flash sentry for example since he may take twilight away from them.

 

Having your waifu taken in fanon material of claimed by many bronies is one thing but once it happen in the show, it like all is lost for some who made that pony their waifu.

Yeahh, perhaps. I didn't like Trenderhoof, but that was more or less a celebrity crush for Rarity, and he treated her like absolute dirt, so that really just makes me hate him instead of getting a bit miffed with him and moving on with my life with a waifu

 

I mean, what's it matter, anyway? You should really be in a fandom because you enjoy yourself, and expressing enjoyment in a character in any way you feel like is something that no one should be afraid to do - so if I see someone else claiming Rarity as their waifu, it's easy to let it roll off my shoulders to the point where I'm glad to see the support for Rarity Just don't expect me to give her up any time soon

Yep in the fandom thats not an issue as is their case, the waifu is still single and not taken officially or cannon wise. So every brony can enjoy their waifu together but once the pony is taken by a pony in the show, all hope is lost for many bronies.

Yep maybe not by a ton of bronies but its a considerable amount of them.

 

All you have to do is check out some of the threads with the rumors that Season 5 might have Twilight Sparkle marry Flash Sentry.

 

Flash Sentry really gets a beating by some of the bronies that claim Twilight as their waifu.

 

Also they think Twilight is to good for Flash and the rage continues from there.

 

Sure there are many that like the possible official shipping, but the bronies that dont like it make themselves quite vocal to stand out and I can understand why.

lol, I only hated Brad because his role in the film was a desperate transition. That, and since we regard TS as the primary character of the story. I'd be pissed at hasbro when all of a sudden, some random guy with absolutely 0 character progression pops out of nowhere gets bangs the focal character. I mean, what the buck? That's some low grade writing there.

 

As for Tia and Discord thing, I really don't mind. I mean, since when did giving flowers to someone automatically associates with banging. But then again, I really don't mind since they're just minor characters. I mean, for all we know, Q and Tia have been going at it behind the scenes and they're just trying to hide it.

 

Overall, I think its deliciously good to see people getting their jimmies rustled that their fictional pastel colored horse waifu is being hooked up with another fictional pastel colored horse.
