~Asuka <3~ 867 April 1, 2013 Share April 1, 2013 I like The Sword quite a bit. They always seem to come out with consistent albums. And also, traditional doom metal from the gods. #1 Asuka fanboy. Hansel 1,512 April 1, 2013 Share April 1, 2013 (edited) Okay....now that you guys have gotten yourselves sorted out I'm gonna leave my top 5 metal/hardcore bands list as it is finally completely done! 1. Converge 2. Isis 3. Dillinger Escape Plan 4. In Flames 5. Opeth I'm just gonna list a few of my favorite Metal/Post-Metal/Metal-related bands, because one does not simply pick 5. Twiliscael 3,960 April 1, 2013 Share April 1, 2013 The only good part about going to my grandma's house for 3 fucking days is that my uncle takes me to some really shady bars with really shady bands playing there. This time we saw an Avenged Sevenfold cover band, and while they weren't that great, it's still a live show which makes it a fun time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgOFr8Z8Is4 'Twas fun, sitting in the back of the house blasting music while the rest of our family sat there wondering where they went wrong with us. Crispy 5,563 April 2, 2013 Author Share April 2, 2013 Is it just me or are the majority of people on here more into power and progressive than any other subgenres? It's just an observation of mine. It's not surprising, I don't think. They are some of the more popular genres of metal. Not enough people listen to melodic metalcore ;__; Yes but why those specific sub genres? And why among bronies? Why not black and death metal? Aka my preferred sub genres. Maybe that way I could get along with people on here better. I'm not too into prog and power metal. I won't lie, I've had arguments on here. I remember someone said Cannibal Corpse is the reason metal isn't taken seriously and I got mad. Because I really like their early stuff, they're minor arguments but still, I don't want to argue with anyone.

Because not everyone can appeal to Death Metal and Black Metal, the reason why the minority of metalheads don't prefer those two sub genres is because they aren't as easy to listen to, BM and DM are both, I guess you could say "acquired tastes" in the world of Metal, and plus you need to include the people who are starting to get into Metal, I would never recommend Cannibal Corpse or Burzum to somebody who is listening to Metal for the first time, I'd probably recommend some Progressive Metal, Alternative Metal, or Melodic Death Metal, since those genres are easier to listen to. I can come to the agreement that Atreyu's first album was good, though their recent stuff hasn't really impressed me too much at all, most of it just sounds meh or half decent to me.
