Since we seem to be on a punk binge atm, I'll post this excellent, rude-as-hell song from Guttermouth. The lyrics in this song are too funny (and I used to relate to them alot when I was a shit-head teenager).

Mommy you're so worthless!
You're lazy! You're stupid!
A little overweight.
Now gimme 20 bucks!
No, make it 50 bucks!

Eh? Nandatte?

Some hardcore punk for you bitches.

OK, now let's get back to metal. Eeyup, I'm going to break the punk binge. Deal with it. *puts on sunglasses*

One of my most dearest black metal bands. Leviathan will always hold a special place in my heart and on my turntable. The album "The Tenth Sublevel of Suicide" was my foray into DSBM.

Depressive Suicidal.

There's also Post-black, atmospheric, blackgaze, first wave, national socialist, and a bunch of other stuff.

tfw you will never be in a crust punk band called crustin beiber

Wheeeeee! Post Black Metal scene is best Black Metal scene. All the depressive suicidal atmospheric shoegazy goodness.

And it's all because of this song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRsofblEK3A

They're still my favorite Depressive Black Metal band.

Also, some obligatory Alcest.

So, Palms officially finished recording their debut album, which is slated for June 25th.  My body is ready.

In the meantime, I'm gonna be chilling out to some Agalloch.  Friend suggested them to me, and I cannot stop listening to them.  Also, they're kinda hard to categorize.

I went to seem them perform last year. They were pretty incredible.

If you like Agalloch, then I recommend

.

Is their self-titled any good?

@,

Its pretty kick ass, I got it a little while ago. The first song is quite an entrance, and I, Dementia is also another great song in the album. I suggest checking it out, even if it is a little different to the other stuff Whitechapel have done.

Love how the music video is a reference to The White Stripes.

I woke up to this song this morning.  My alarm on my computer randomly chooses a song from my music library, and holy shit, nearly crapped my pants.  I haven't heard theses guys in a while; so intense bruh.

So awesome.  And Gallowbraid sounds so dope, thanks.

is it safe to say that English Dogs are pretty much thrash. cuz everybody's all like "they were punk, but now they're metal". apparently DRI, the cromags, and The Plasmatics were too (except Plasmatics sounded more like proto-Hardcore). but frankly that just sounds like thrash from day one.

That feel when you have to agree with Djenty that Devy will never be as good as SYL was sad.png

Funny band name, but great music.

Ain't that the truth.

Thoroughly impressed by these guys.

i just heard into the pit by fight. this has got to be one of rob halford's best solo bands ever. the drummer sounds boss dude. the real energy in metal, punk, etc. lies in a drummer that can belt out beats and flatten a kit with just two sticks. without further ado... fight!

I've gotta leave some stuff in the metal thread before I go, starting off with Kvelertak

Seriously one hell of a music video, and I so need to buy Meir and their self-titled album sometime

Also Converge, because Converge are the greatest

To be honest, Black Dahlia Murder isn't that bad. Except for the fact that they're #soscene.

Also, taking a much-needed listen through of Dillinger's debut, Calculating Infinity.

Personally I prefer their second vocalist, though most people don't agree.

I just changed my username and to celebrate I'm going to post some Cannibal Corpse. And yes, I did get the idea for my new username from Cannibal Corpse.

The Black Dahlia Murder aren't the worst out there, they're not too bad, but not too good in my opinion. Also since I've been listening to lots of Deathcore lately anyone got any suggests on any bands that I should listen to?

I wouldn't say they're bad at all. I like their music, just not the fans its associated with.

Also, All Shall Perish - Awaken the Dreamers

Because melodic deathcore, it's got the sexiness of Chris Storey on guitars. They got rid of him and his replacement, so the new one really sucks and so does their 2011 album, but Awaken the Dreamers is awesome. It's got clean at times, and more importantly, interludes FFS, which are pretty rare in deathcore. Love the instrumentals.

The title track encompasses quite a bit of what most of the album should sound like, minus the interludes part.

Well okay maybe I wasn't too clear on what I was saying before, they're not bad but I'm not a very huge fan of their music, it's pretty good, they've got quite a few great songs, but they just I guess you could say aren't my first choice. It's been a while since I've listened to them, so I should probably try them out again. Also All Shall Perish are awesome

Anyways some Veil of Maya before I leave for bedtime

*cracks knuckles*

Deathcore is my specialty.

Some bands I'd recommend are:

  • The Contortionist
  • Aegeaon <3
  • Bermuda
  • The Acacia Strain
  • Slice the Cake
  • Born of Osiris
  • Rings of Saturn (more tech-death, but still)
  • Struc/tures (If you can handle really shitty lyrics about breakups and reationship BS)
  • Veil of Maya

I know there's a load more, this is just off the top of my head right now.

I've listened to The Acacia Strain, Veil of Maya, Born of Osiris, and Rings of Saturn already I've gotta say that I like them all, to actually say it Veil of Maya are a big favorite of mine. I'll have to check out the other ones you've listed though.

I only know one song by them, but I really like it a lot:

And wait, they're scene??? Since when? They don't seem scene to me...

I thought they were melodic death metal or something :/

They're not really, but they've got an annoying scene following, like Suicide Silence. I really don't think Suicide Silence is all that bad, it's just that those scene fangirls can really get under my skin.

Laughed harder than I should've lol.

Well if we're on the subject of deathcore and sceenie weenies, have some Australian deathcore (?) that has been over run by scene fans/chicks. At least that's what I saw when I went to a show...

Uhmm... I'm not really a fan of deathcore. I tried listening to the song you posted and I wasn't a fan of the vocals. But whatever here's some good death metal.

^ Good death metal it is. And I understand, deathcore isn't exactly easy to listen too, especially people accustomed to Deathmetal. The vocals are always too different.

Anyway, anyone here watch Metalocalypse? Funny ass show and some good parody/ comedy Death metal.

I Ejaculate Fire is another good one.

(I've probably asked this question before butt fuck it)

Yea, I don't like the vocals and the guitar is too slow for me in deathcore. I usually listen to thrash, death and black metal, the only time I listen to something slow is if it's doom or sludge.

I'very seen all of the first season of Metalocalypse and most of the second. Ialso have their second album.
