Also, no stupid punch throwing or kicking that's done in hardcore/punk shows - its a bit too extreme in most cases and it makes you look like a dick.

 

That's all I tend to do, but I go to a lot more hardcore shows than metal shows, so there you go.

Also, completely on the other side of the spectrum, I've gotten stuck listening to Coheed's Afterman: Ascension & Descension, which are just mind-jizzling phenomenal.  Holy hell; they are definitely our generation's greatest prog band.  In my opinion, it's their best work yet.

Everything is there, as far as what Evile is prepared to deliver, but something is taking away the aesthetic of 'thrash' from it... it's all there, but it doesn't feel like it. Oh well.

So, I know this thread kind of has it sour for the rapcore/ rap-metal genre (and believe me, I'm usually not very fond of it either), however I came across a band that piques my interest.  Anyone heard of Hacktivist?  If so, what're your opinions?

I definitely enjoy their sound; a nice groove that does complement the "vocals".  I've only given a few songs a listen, and they're not half bad.  Lyrics aren't too bad either.

Eh, I don't find anything wrong with rapcore. I just haven't found any that interests me. Except for Machine Head's album, Supercharger album, which might count.

 

I will have to check them out soon. Though I've already got a ton of music to listen to on my plate as it is.
