Holy shit, I can't stop listening to this song. This has everything! The main verse is nice and reminiscent of SYL, and then he gets all soft sounding towards the bridge. Love it. :D

Umm... why.

Anyway, I've got about 14 minutes to spare, so... I guess I'll listen to a powerviolence album. Nails' "Unsilent Death." This was supposed to be one of the best albums of 2010, so I have high hopes. Also, I plan to crack open my RockBox leak of "The Parallax II" soon. I'm really excited, especially since this is their longest album yet at 72 minutes.

Yes, I posted this one page ago. No, I don't care. Every single one of you should listen to this over and over. The guitar work is fucking masterful and the production value is impressive.

AxCx is a pretty fun band. Just for the sheer humour that comes from listening to a band called Anal Cunt.

Undertow was a pretty solid Tool album. I love the bass tone on it.

Umm... why.

...Can I go on another rant on how good Deftones are? I mean, their music is so mellow and emotional, yet Chino can take it to big, angry heights with his screaming.

Got anymore bands like this,?

I would actually say ISIS (yeah, time for one of MY rants), but in a different way. Their music could be really sparse and quiet, but rather than the vocals bringing the volume, it was actually the drums, specifically the snare, that went hard all the time.

On another note, I'm ACTUALLY going to listen to Parallax II now. I'll be back with my thoughts in an hour, twelve minutes, and thirteen seconds.

These guys always did a good job of mixing more mellow stuff with heavy.

And although their later albums kinda ruined it for me, so did these guys.

HOLY.

FUCKING.

DINGLEBERRIES.

That was a trip. I'd put Parallax II right up there with Colors as one of BTBAM's best. Misdirect is still king, but that may be subject to change.

Also, I sent my friend a Nails song. he proceeded to flip a bitch and say that the lyrics were nothing but "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" and that the music made him want to kill himself.

The amount of butthurt in the comments to this track is beyond any and all recognition.

Think Naked City times 20, and you kinda have an idea of what you're in for.

Naked city was that crazy jazz fusion album, right?

Anyway, I'm browsing on mobile, so no videos from me. But I must say, I listened to Dirge by Wormrot, and that was some pretty good grind. :D

You guys may have heard that I really like melodic post-hardcore and shit like that.

Not only that, but I like lyrics that can hit you unexpectedly.

If you only listen to one of these, listen to Modern Life Is War. One of the most meaningful bands in my life.

Also, hello 3,500th Metal Thread post.

I'd call Naked City's more famous, short structure material avant-garde jazzcore. And yes, Dirge is a monster. What's so intriguing is how heavy it is, yet there's only one guitar, and no bass. Have some more of their stuff:

Also, hello 3,500th Metal Thread post.

Finally, I got an achievement for the metal thread! :D

So my father loves the Devin Townsend Project, but I can't get him to appreciate lad. :( He can't see past the cursing, for what the music really is. =/ Welp, guess I''ll have to deal with it.

The vocals are so awesome when he says "You fucking lied to me,".

Why not try showing him the rest of his solo work like Ocean Machine and the like? They're much more accessible, I would think.

He likes Ocean Machine and that whole bunch. I'm pretty sure that he did some of that stuff at the show. :P

But he won't like SYL! ;_; They got me into Devy in the first place!

Here, newer Sikth.

By newer, I mean second album. :|

How about their self-titled? While it's my least favorite, the lyrics take a more serious approach and there's not as much profanity.

Wow, Wormrot has just summed up my thoughts on every "heated argument" that has ever popped on these forums ever.

I saw your great situation handling in that thread, @@Crispy. ;)

Also, listening to Punky Bruster. It's funny, because Devin's fake punk band would make a great punk band. And I like that death metal band in the beginning, too. Too bad he'll never release a death metal album.

Turn him on to something else entirely then.

We all know that this album is a goddamn spiritual journey. Same with their newest one.

People just care too damn much. Can't we all just like marshmallow ponies and get along? Fuck's sake.

New Pig Destroyer track called "The Diplomat" debuted through Pitchfork. FUCK I'm excited. It's much longer than "Burning Palm," and there are two vocalists on it (wonder who the other one is...). Book Burner is going to rank highly with me, I can feel it.

Ah, sweet. Seems like some good bands have new stuff in the work. Like Behold the Arctopus. I can't wait for their reunion, or whatever you call it.

This band proves how awesome Cannibal Corpse bassist, Alex Webster, is. :D
