Mfft, METAL BLADE.

Best metal label is Sumerian. I mean, have you seen the bands on there? Almost all of them are top-tier metal for me. But there's also that stupid stuff like Asking Alexandria... http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

Metal Blade is home to GWAR, BTBAM, The Red Chord, Goatwhore, AND Austrian Death Machine. And that's just to name a few. Tell that to Borgore and I See Stars.

EDIT: Not to say that I don't like the bands on Sumerian, I just prefer Metal Blade for its versatility. Also, BOOK BURNER LEAKED. FJHDNSKFSDJKL. And I'm gonna get that HAARP Machine hoosywhatsit.

@,

So today was my town's garage sale day where everybody sets up garage sales and sells random crap. So my friends and I are walking around when we see "that guy." "That guy" is the creepy old dude who blasts music out of his house literally 24/7/12/364. Looking through some of his old CDs, I found the soundtrack of Little Nicky (good movie) which had a song or two by Deftones on it. When I mentioned to my friend "Hey, I heard these guys were good." the guy came out of nowhere and was like "Deftones? I have something for YOU."

He then fumbled through his shelves upon shelves of CDs and handed me 2 CDs: The self-titled Deftones album and Repeater by Fugazi. He told me that he thinks I'll like them and I can have them free of charge.

TL;DR I got Deftones and Repeater for free.

Songs from the Little Nicky soundtrack:

There was a BTBAM puppet projected onto the screen at my Devy show. I really want to find a pic just for the lulz, but I CAN'T FUCKING FIND IT. There was also a Thordendal one, which I would so use as an avatar.

Ah, I feel right at home in this thread. I'm a huge fan of metal music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ4ioEQ7okM

In Mourning's latest album. Kind of reminds me of Opeth in a way, but with more elements of gothic metal, and no acoustic pieces. Plenty of softer, more melodic pieces are featured throughout.

Slacking when I should be writing an essay on the French Revolution. I'll get to it. Eventually. For now, though, have something from the one genre that, in my opinion, has the worst purists.

Never thought I'd venture here. I don't listen to metal or rock. Although I've listened to it sometimes and when I say that very very little. Kinda disappointing separating myself from another genre of music. Since I'm here... Get ready!

No? Okay.

I just happened to stumble upon Cauldron on Spotify. Pretty awesome stuff. 'Specially their song Nitebreaker.

Have some Enforcer as well. In my opinion, they're an oldskool Iron Maiden-like band. Which is pretty damn awesome. :3

We need some more of this stuff in here

HOLY FUCK. Book Burner has to be my album of the year. The new BTBAM may take over, but Death Grips has been demoted to 3rd place at the moment. I LOVE the contributions from ANb's vocalists. Especially Kat. She KILLS it.

I will atone throughout the day with more videos.

Here it comes, more INSTRUMENTAL BANDS:

I find that most solo instrumental prog metal/ djent acts are severely talented and produce real quality music (Bulb, Sean Hall, Chimp Spanner to name a few). Cloudkicker is one of these bands. His stuff is the bee's knees.

Bulb is really Periphery, you know that? :P

I lol'd.

So I am in the process of working on one of THESE: http://top50.topsters.de/ It takes a while. Until you have to list 50 of your favorite albums, you never really realize how much metal you listen to. :T

More precisely, this is my favorite black metal record. Funny how it was made by a few 18-year-olds. Brilliant minds.

In honor of Dethklok's newest album being released today, I'll just post some Dethklok.

Just listened to it today. It's pretty good for those who are interested.

Wintersun's new album comes out on Friday too, it'll be a good week for melodeath.

Ah, Sodom. They have such a tried and true formula of just brutal thrash since the 80s. Their newest album is solid, just like all their work. Also, a little birdy (who goes by the name of Wikipedia) told me that they're currently writing a new album.

Heck yes. A new Sodom album would be great.

Thanks for letting me know.

However, I do feel as if Sodom are the least consistent of the three kings of Teutonic thrash.

So, in my previous posts, I mentioned Scale the Summit and Cloudkicker as note worthy instrumental prog metal acts. And it's true, they're both great and I credit them for eventually leading me to Animals As Leaders.

Also mentioned dudes who are a solo act, and here's a guy I've been enjoying for a while:

GET YOU SOME DJENT, MYAN.

Dual vocalists in this group. I definitely like one more than the other, but whatever. Still adds variety.

The one I like more is the guy who sounds like Spencer Stolleto.

Guess what I listened to today, by the way. This is an amazing album. That ambience is so ... chill. Reminds me of some Deftones in away, even Isis.

Still have to listen to Circle Takes the Square, though.
