Who was your main In Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Who do you plan to main in SSB4?

In Brawl, I mained Pikachu, though I ended up using Bowser way more often since he's just fun to lumber around with (had to give them some kind of handicap or else they'd never play for long -_-). I'm guessing Pikachu will be largely the same in the new smash game so it's safe to say I'll probably end up maining Pikachu yet again.

In Melee, I liked Link but in Brawl, I liked Peach. I don't have any plans on buying the newer game since I heard they scrapped the story mode and I don't approve. But if I did play it then I am not sure who I would play as. The assortment of characters hasn't been as good as it used to be. I think the series was at its peak during Melee. Now, who knows who could have been included. Maybe it would have been interesting if they had included Twilight Sparkle or Yuna Braska or James Bond. Who knows. It's not a Nintendo fighting game anymore.

Lucario was my main in Brawl. His air game kicked ass and his ground play was powerful with enough dexterity.

 

I don't know if it's possible to "plan" to main someone in a game you haven't played though. You can't know how they'll play before you get your hands on it.

While Samus may be my favorite Nintendo character, I just was never very good with her. Because of that I normally played as Mewtwo, but they scrapped him in Brawl so I had to find someone else. Lucario was similar, but I didn't feel enough unless he had somewhat high damage. Zero Suit Samus played more to my liking than her normally armored self, but I still had problems with her.

 

That's when I decided to just sit down and play with each character for awhile, found out Zelda is actually pretty wicked. Ended up making her my main fighter, and it was a blast stomping my friends with her. They'd taunt and laugh that I'd pick her, then we'd get into the match and almost instantly they'd shut up. I'd rarely transform to Sheik, only when I really wanted to move around the larger arenas quick.

 

New game coming out? I'm hoping Greninja will be awesome, and that I'll enjoy playing as him. I'll of course give Samus a go again, but in the end I have a feeling I'll end up rocking Zelda again. That is of course, only if Mewtwo doesn't make a triumphant return. Oh, and I'll have to buy a Wii U first. I do plan on buying the 3DS version though until then, so maybe my main will be different across versions even. Depends how natural the 3DS version plays I guess.

I always loved Lucas because he was a fast power-hitter with great recovery and a great melee and projectile game. In SSBU however, I'm really looking forward to Rosealina or Mii.

You would think Sonic was my mane, but it was actually Fox McCloud.

 

I could play with Sonic like the best of them, but I always did a lot better with Fox. ^^

 

EDIT: As for SSB4, more than likely Fox again, since he's always been my best. Unless they've made modifications to how Sonic played. We all know they just threw him in there in Brawl, due to the high demand. So I don't think they had enough time to give him a proper move set.

I've always mained Mario; going back to the first Smash on 64.  He's a balanced character without, IMO, any glaring flaws or unfair advantages.  With Mario, I try to give my opponents a tough, very-much-moving target to hit and pick my moments to retaliate.  Love deflecting projectiles with the SMW-derived cape, love dat uppercut (satisfying when you really nail and / or juggle someone), and I used FLUDD for the hell of it lol.  Once I squirted a barrel or crate off a platform and I think it killed DK or someone.  So it worked on at least that one occasion.  Ness became my #2 beginning with Melee, and it hurts that he hasn't been announced as a returning character yet.  If Ness doesn't return and Mega Man is as super awesome as I hope he is, I might main / sub-main Mario / Mega Man.

Um, yes, while it is true that it isn't exactly just Nintendo anymore. How could Twilight Sparkle ever have a chance of being in the game?

The way characters are chosen with Smash Bros, the company has to have a good relationship with Nintendo (I.E. Sega, 3 game deal with Nintendo)

Capcom (Mega Man games was exclusive to NES back during that time) 

Pac Man was put in the game because of Namco Bandai games are helping out with Smash 4.

So, if Twilight Sparkle had ANY Chance to be in Smash Bros 

Hasbro would have to have a solid relationship with Nintendo, by having games on their systems, etc. Which I doubt will happen anytime soon.

Ike - i hated that they dropped roy. roys my boy. ike is slower but deals heavier damage. i might not be too good at recovering once you get me off the map, but you gotta get me off the map first, so i can manage

 

ganondorf - plays like a heavy version of CF. really im good with both but i prefer ganondorf because hes ganondorf

 

ness - pk thunder myself in the ass to launch myself at you like an unstoppable rebel force. ness is my main man because earthbound is my favorite game

 

jigglypuff - lemme tell you about rest

 

metaknight - do i even need to explain here ? lightning fast moves and fantastic recovery, gimme metaknight and its a wrap

 

peach - something about beating people with peach makes me smile.

 

as for #4 ill probably stick with ness since im most consistent with him. i wish theyd add isaac from golden sun to be playable. i was happy with the assist trophy, but come on. we can have OLIMAR but not ISAAC? blasphemy

I started as Ike, and he was always kinda my main man.  I even got a custom T-shirt of Ike made up.  It says, "You'll Get No Sympathy From Me" on the front, with a big picture of him on the back.  The funny thing is, I get all kinds of compliments on that shirt, but people never see the back.  They just read the front and go, "DUDE, THAT'S AWESOME, HIGH FIVE!"  And I'm like, "Uh, thanks, um...it's Super Smash, see?"  *Turns around.*  And they're like, "Oh, never heard of it."

 

After awhile, though, I started to become better with Snake, actually.  But Ike is still my favorite to play.  I'm also really good with Zelda and Lucas.  And I'm not half bad with Ganondorf, which is funny, because I believe he's literally dead last according the official tier ranking thing.

 

Oh, and I'm not really planning on getting SSB4.  I don't really have anyone to play with anymore, so meh.

Once I unlocked Cptn Falcon in the original, I was hooked. He's fast and hits hard(usually) some iterations felt anemic and he never had great range options but there isn't much more satisfying than getting the old "falcon...PUNCh" and sending your friends across the screen and into oblivion.

I was being facetious. Of course they wouldn't add her specifically but I think they might as well. As long as they pay for the rights, they could add any character from any IP since the objective is no longer to create a fighting game for Nintendo characters. That was the main luster of the series. Without it, what do you have?  I always thought that adding Sonic was like a final insult to Sega to say that they can parade what was once a rival mascot through a fighting game once reserved for Nintendo characters like a war trophy. Hasbro can easily have that good relationship by paying enough money. Maybe Peter Jackson could have payed enough money to have a movie character from the Hobbit included for advertising. Again, facetious but not really. It's like the game has become a parody of itself. That's what happens when it's made by a person that said they wouldn't make another one of those games.

I disagree, it's still a fighting game for Nintendo characters, but with some 3rd party bonuses thrown in.

The majority of the characters are still Nintendo characters.

Besides, who doesn't like having Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, and Pac Man in the SAME GAME!?
