    I am a 32 year old writer who was a MLP fan during G1 along with most of the 80's cartoons whether they were supposed to be for boys or girls. Here on the forum I find mature acting and communicating fans of all ages, but I haven't really found anyone outside my age group in the outside world. It's almost paradoxical. I can say I'm actually a greater fan of G4 than G1, just so much more interesting characters and story. The lack of story and well defined characters was rather across the board in the early 80's.

    Welcome to the Herd, your TARDIS has landed in a strange and wonderful place. There is that magical moment when you realize you are a brony. Often like for you and I it happens without realizing it. I was actually anti-brony for awhile but as a writer I have always been a sucker for good writing. The fanfiction that hooked me was Past Sins by PenStroke. From there I learned that judgments about the community were quite unfounded. I'm currently trying to catch up with the Doctor. My friend is a die hard Whovian and is actively trying to convert me. I may have to slip the the audio dramas Dr Whooves and Assistant and convert him! If you haven't checked out those dramas they are well done fan creations which I think any Brony Whovian can appreciate. See you around the forums!

    It made me really look forward to EQG:RR with the latest trailer. Sunset's lack of confidence shows strong character development and continuity. I just hope they keep going and she gets her confidence mojo back and stays a main character throughout the movie. On a slightly different note, the show/comic seem to have Celestia pushing Twilight Sparkle into the role more and more emulating her own. Throughout the series I've always seen her being closer to Starswirl the Bearded and perhaps as Princess of Friendship that may be where it's going. However, if anyone should be put into a role mimicking Celestia's I feel it should be Sunset Shimmer. She seems to have that natural/power charisma and strength of will that would make an effective leader if applied right. If they ever have her return to Equestria It would be interesting to see her own journey to redemption and finding her role I'd love for her to stay a friendly rival of Twilights giving another example of a healthy rivalry like Applejack and Rainbow Dash. Either way, we need more Sunset.

    Are you singing from your diaphragm? My biggest mistake was singing from my throat where I constricted it for higher notes and opened it up for bass notes. It made it so I had a similar problem to you in college.

    Welcome back to the herd . My hiatus was a little longer than 2011, I was a fan of G1 when it was on TV but It's great feeling when you come back. Enjoy your senior year and make it count. Even though college will be a blast it is never the same as your years in high school.

    I'm not entirely sure if this is the right spot for something like this, but I wanted to use this space for discussion of ideas that would help define my fanfiction arc I'm working on. The basis is following six ponies who are reformed/misfits on their off-kilter discovery of friendship. They serve as a compliment to the main six, not wielding any elements of their own per se, but acting as sort of a Team B. They deal with the craziness that seems to plague Ponyville. All the while, a strange earth pony named Shadow Light seems to have his hoof involved in many of these incidents. Unbeknownst to them, he is a remnant of House Shaffron physically tied to the ruins of his House. House Shaffron was supposedly banished alongside Nightmare Moon during the Battle of the Diarchs and the clash of those that supported them. The players- Princess Sunset Shimmer(still a unicorn), Ditzy Do(Derpy Hooves), Trixie Lulamoon, Screwball, Lightning Dust, and Eclipse (an earth pony capable of unicorn-like magic). Discussion #1: Are the Crystal Mirror and Starswirl's mirror the same artifacts?

    The extent of my wife's reaction: Wife: So your a Brony? Me:Yep Wife: When did this happen? Me: A few weeks ago, I got sucked in with well written fan-fiction stories. Then I finally watched the show. You know how I'm a sucker for a good story. Wife: ... That's it. now occasionally I get Twilight Sparkle candies

      Issue #0 is actually a limited print preview comic only available at GFest XXI. We are looking at late August/ early September for Issue #1. It will be digital only until we can gather enough support to show one of the Comic publishers that it's actually worth picking up. The head of Sunstone Games has some friends at IDW and Dark Horse so if we get enough support we should be able to get them out to comic shops. Here's the cover art. http://i.imgur.com/k9kyOCB.jpg

    Once I unlocked Cptn Falcon in the original, I was hooked. He's fast and hits hard(usually) some iterations felt anemic and he never had great range options but there isn't much more satisfying than getting the old "falcon...PUNCh" and sending your friends across the screen and into oblivion.

    I used to watch G1. My mom even got me a spike figure back then. I'm now a fan of G4. I can't see why being a fan of either is a crime

    There are bronies in my area, I see posts on craigslist or rainbodash network and such but whenever there's a meetup suggested not a single soul shows up. I wonder if they are afraid to acknowledge their interest in public

    I'm headed last minute to G-Fest because my greatest interest, writing, landed me as one of the writers for a comic involving another great interest other than ponies, kaiju. Are there there any other kaiju-loving bronies that will be there? If you so you will find me around the convention rocking out my New Lunar Republic shirt or if you stop by the Colossal Kaiju Combat Table I may be there as well.

    Thank you for all the welcomes. Like I said I was amaze at how open this community was and I'm glad you guys didn't disappoint. I already have pretty strong admiration of the show and the ponies by the way. I hope to eventually live up to the calibre of writing that Pen Strokes presented. I've never written fanfiction so it's a new area of writing for me.

    My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Rainbow Dash How did you find MLP Forums?: The onnipotent Google How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I originally had a bad image of the community, but like many here I've realized how judgemental I was being. I knew about the show, but I ignored it for the most part up until this year. It was a trifecta of my good friend trolling me with PFUDOR 10 hours and changing my password on my laptop. That got that great but damn song stuck in my head and I started following the hilarity that is Flufflepuff. I found Eurobeat Brony's rendition of the Discord song and loved it and about the same time I stumbled across Past Sins. I am huge sucker for a good story (it's how I got roped into WoW for 9 years) I started reading other good stories and decided to give the show a chance. After obsessively watching until I caught up just before the season finale, I couldn't harbor any ill will anymore. In fact I was amazed at how nonjudgemental and incredibly talented this community really is. I'm a fiction writer presently working on my first novel and as one of the writers for the official Colossal Kaiju Combat comic book( it's a just started project which I am going to be promoting at GFest XXI.) I used to watch the original MLP when I was a kid along with many of the 80's shows from Heman and She-Ra to Thundercats, Rainbow Brite, and Voltron.
