What horse behaviours are equivalent to these:

Wagging tails- Well, horses to swish there tails, but it's to get flies to stay away. I wouls say that if a horse is excited to see you, then it might stomp it's front feet and start snorting with perked up ears.

Growling- Pinned back ears.

Whining- Pawing at the ground with one of their front legs

Stretching-Hmmm...that's a tough one. Maybe rolling?

Purring-A lot of horses have that special scratching spot. when you find it, you'll know. If it's on their neck, they'll probably turn their head to the side and crane their neck. If it's on their but, they might start to slowly sit down (did that to a little filly once. she almost sat in a bucket of water). Or if it's on their face or ears, they'll probably look like they're slowly falling asleep.

I spend a lot of time with horses. I have experienced all of these behaviors.

A happy horse is calm, and may nuzzle its handler, or make high pitched grunts. Ears are also perky.

A sad horse has limp ears, makes little noise, and won't walk around as much.

A mad or startled horse flares its nostrils, makes low pitched grunts, and stomps its hooves. It will attack if provoked further.

Swishing tails is used for getting rid of unwanted flies, when a horse gets on two legs it's a display of dominance between horses or a defensive move against large predator animals such as wolves.
