Thank god, the Bundesliga season is starting this weekend. Hopefully the first weekend won't be borefest.

 

Werder Bremen bought Vestergaard and Casteels from Hoffenheim. I guess it's nice, since we always need guys in the back, because our defense is a piece of shit and our Goalkeeper Wolf isn't really the best, so maybe Casteels can do better.

I swear the Bundesliga season has been on since August...

(Speaking of Bundesliga, I'm looking forward to the Wolfsburg v Bayern match tomorrow, gonna be awesome)

We have Winter breaks from mid December till the end of January.

 

Wolfsburg is good, but Bayern is just too dominant this year. Bayern wins the Bundesliga by a landslide and also has a good chance to win the Champions League.

I didn't realise that we had a Derby fan on this thread. Very unlucky to not go up last season but this year is yours by the looks of it!

 

Very painful memories of Derby unfortunately.. Went to both legs of our playoff semi final against you and let's just say that it wasn't the best day I've had in my life for more reasons than just the result that day... But we played awful and none of our players seemed to turn up when it mattered the most.. Our fans were the only saving grace on a bad performance by the team. Never mind, that's football I guess!

Courtois is wasting his time at Chelsea. Most of the time, old Petr Cech is standing behind the posts. If he went to a big club, that needs a great goalkeeper, he could be better then Cech and maybe even reach the Level of Neuer.

Unfortunately, as good as Gotze can be, he's not a left-winger like Ribery is. He lacks the acceleration. He's more of a CAM, which is something that Pep's system lacks. Sure, he can fill in for Ribery confidently, but he struggles there. Gotza hasn't been as good as he can be.

 

Muller...is an enigma. He can be good anywhere, but what he lacks in skill he makes up for in intelligence.

 

Anything can happen at this point. Bayern has been good, but their overall performance at times has been lacking. We'll see what happens once the star defensemen return.

As far as I remember, Courtois was keen to stay at Atletico but the club were unwilling to pay Chelsea's price. :okiedokielokie: It's a shame as Atletico are growing as a club under Simeone, keeping Courtois and Costa would have helped with that for sure. Courtois would have benefitted from this too IMO, although I'm sure he would thrive wherever. I personally think Courtois is better than Cech now and a better shot stopper than Neuer. For me, what makes Neuer so good is his 'sweeper keeper' abilities. Courtois could follow the same developmental path as De Gea if he persists in the EPL, who has continued to improve since his signing (especially in these last 2 seasons <3).

I went to Brighton v Derby in the league last season, (won 1-2) and also to the home leg of the Play-Off Semi-Final. I'm a season ticket holder so I see them every home match and always do a couple of away games as well.

It's funny, because a week ago, Dortmund President Watzke said that the Bundesliga teams don't fight against Bayern and just give up the points, And now i ask myself: "Is that good enough for you?"
