Still re-watching through Naruto, I'm up to Season 5 now, so just the current awesome arc to go before literally hundreds of filler  :okiedokielokie:

 

The best thing I'm watching this season is definitely Parasyte. I've dropped a couple shows (Wolf Girl and Black Prince, Amagi Brilliant Park). World Trigger is ridiculously cheaply made, it's Evangelion levels of cost cutting at times. it's a shame because I quite like the manga but the anime really isn't living up to it.

So yeah, Escaflowne didn't particularly improve. What a crushing disappointment.

 

Luckily, I started (or re-started) Cowboy Bebop soon after, and the taste of mediocre fantasy anime has been thoroughly washed away. Only two episodes in at the moment, but this is even more awesome than I remember it being. Superb directorial craftsmanship and probably the best soundtrack the medium has to offer. Can't wait to actually finish it this time.

Just today I've watched:

 

Darker Than Black season 2 + bridging OVAs. I've owned the first one for a few years now, needed to finish it. Worth it. I'd always heard that the second season was written differently, usually said to be in a bad way, but I liked the change. It wasn't even a huge change either, mostly just a change in perspective. The only thing I didn't like was the ending which left way too many unanswered questions and even brought up more than I had at the end of the first season. I hope they make a season 3 though I've heard that the director thought they answered enough questions and don't plan on another.

 

Highschool DxD season 1. This one...well it started out being boobs and all things depraved but it actually turned out to be pretty fuckin' awesome by the end. It went from practically pure ecchi in the first episode to pure face-beatings and badassery in the final. I can't wait to get my hands on season 2 which was recently dubbed from what I understand.

I'm about to start watching an anime I had never even heard of called Cat Planet Cuties. I bought it on a total whim. Let's hope it won't be wasted money, eh? Probably won't all things considered. There's only been two anime that I didn't like.

 

I also have Is This A Zombie? seasons 1 and 2 for after that.

Heaven's Lost Property is the bee's knees, yo. Definitely one of my favorite anime. Unlike a lot of ecchi/comedy anime it fully knows what it is and even makes fun of itself for it instead of trying to make itself look legit. It's got a personality few others can match.

So on my Naruto re-watch I'm up to season 6...really tempted to jump past the remaining, what is it 4 seasons of filler? I remember almost literally nothing from any of the filler first time round, that's how totally forgettable it all is. I wouldn't mind it so much if it was single filler episodes or maybe 2 or 3 parters at the most, but it's regularly 5 or more part episodes and it's just so tedious.

Exactly. Not only is it self-aware, but it's pervertedness often serves as a joke or even the plot. This is great because it means I don't have to take it too seriously, which is hard to do when it comes to ecchi anime ^^
