gaming Five Nights at Freddy's

Alright, so I've heard a lot about this new game, and I can't go five minutes on Tumblr without seeing fanart of this fox-robot thing. Is the game really as scary as people say? What's it even about? I mean, there's even a FimFiction by Zealous Shift on the game, and his exact words are

"Do not play the game.   I'm serious, you'll not only need a new pair of pants, but a new computer chair, new bed sheets, a new bed and a new life in general after playing that game."

Is this for real?

I literally just looked playthroughs of this game up on youtube only like 10 minutes ago. What a coincidence.

It's a bit creepy really. It doesn't seem too scary to me so far, but I'm a bit difficult to scare when it comes to most things nowadays. I will say it's one of the more unique horror games I've seen though, and it's probably have more of an effect on me if I was actually playing it myself.

It's mostly jumpscare horror, I know that get's some people more than others. That said it definitely does a lot of things right with it's creepy atmosphere, sense of hopelessness, and it's way of catching you completely off guard even when you think you're prepared for what's coming. If you still want to check it out I recommend Markiplier's play through.

Honestly, you can probably get the fullest experience by just watching somebody else play it. It is pretty creepy, but it relies a lot on jump scares which will work just as well in a video.

Aye, and even though Markiplier said that it is one of the scariest games he has ever played, he admitted that the jump-scares do get annoying after a while.

I applaud the game for its creepy atmosphere, but as has been said, it banks rather heavily on jump scares. So if you don't mind being met with an ear-piercing shriek when you lose, you might like it. Probably wouldn't truly terrify you unless you had some form of automatonophobia, but I hear a lot of people are deathly afraid of Chuck E. Cheese's animatronics, so maybe this one really does have a true target audience.

Of course, even though I *personally* feel that jump scares suck ass, I will say that the game does a good job of making you paranoid, always awaiting the next time Foxy charges down the hall with great anxiety.

  • 1 month later...

Not YET, but I have watched so many let's plays that I'd know what to expect, so I kind of ruined it for myself.

But the idea of actually playing it scares me a little

Hello everyone

Nuuu! XP I wouldn't dare to play that game! :P I hate being startled and whenever I know something startling is coming (e.g. in a movie) I get this tense feeling of WAITING for the thing to happen. My nerves would be shot just starting that game, lol. Plus I just don't really want to play it anyway.

(You know, there really needs to be a terrified Fluttershy emote XD, it would have fit this post perfectly.)

I played it.

Did not particularly enjoy it. The jump scares wear off really quickly, and soon the game was just me running it in a near background stand (or as near to background as my hyper activity can allow) and just occasionally glance back at it to see I had died. The game was fun for the first night, but after that it just got incredibility repetitive.

Yup :3 Though the lag killed the vibe. I like the fanmade song though, really fitted the backstory

Oh, and also the fact it may kill your perspective on Chuck E.Cheese's, but I'm sure you'll be fine :)

I'm about to play it on my channel semi-blind. I watched a random youtuber try the first two nights and then I decided I'd play it myself for the month of October. (Howl-o-Ween and all that jazz~)
As you can see by my avie, I'm a fan of the game.

I've watched a lot of gameplay videos and all I can say is the game is very creepy. It's best for me to stay away from playing it.

Yeeeah I played it. It's full of jumpscares which scare you for a little, then the feeling is gone. Still, it's has some scary ambiance.

Me, my cousins, brother and my friend we're playing around a few days ago, we decided to play it.

None of us we're scared, it was pretty boring :/

Luckily, I was able to beat all 6 nights, and I am looking forward to beating the 4/20 mode on Custom night. Other than that, I survived all 5 nights plus the 6th night. I am looking forward to the sequel as well. I will definitely go for it.
