gaming Skyrim : Warrior, Mage, or Thief

Skyrim is cast and open with many options to form up your favorite roles in the awesome world. So after playing three different play throughs as a warrior, thief, and mage the question comes.

 

What role did you take on in the Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim?

 

Personally I enjoyed being a thief.

 

Sub categories can count too : Like Assassin, Mercenary, Battle Mage etc.

I'm kind of on the fence between assassin and mage.

 

I liked being an assassin, since I felt like a badass for outsmarting my enemies through stealth. (Also Assassin's Creed was popular at the time.)

 

The reason why I liked playing as a mage (besides the obvious of being able to shoot fire out of my hands) is because I liked being able to fight without the need for weapons and equipment. I liked how I could have my items confiscated, and still be able to hold my own.

 

I wasn't too big of a fan of being a warrior. Being another guy with a sword just seemed kind of generic and uninteresting to me. (Granted, that's what I was when I started out.) It just seemed like the fantasy world equivalent of being a generic grunt in every modern military shooter.

 

Too bad I use a Mac now.

Well you do realize the Warrior, Mage, and Thief are just opener stones. A class to classify yourself with till you find a better stone in the world that suits you better. Anyway, I'm more akin to the Thief stone. I love the Dark Brotherhood missions. The Thieves Guild is easier to do as far as what they offer compared to Oblivion as you use to have to do things on your own more. In Skyrim, you get missions like other factions. Meh, anyway... there is what I think.

Well, my usual stance is to go warrior as I'm always wanting to go in all prepared for battle. That's what I did in my previous play through as a hardened female khajiit.

 

Now, my current play through is different. With my alter male, I'm going mage as I want to put some emphasis on dual-weilding means & magic.

 

That reminds me...I have a Dwemer ruin to explore...

I'm always norse or imperial warrior, with a greatsword and heavy armor.

Though I do mess a little with magic for long range, but I can also use the bow, specially after Dawnguard came out on PS3. I LOVE Auriel's Bow. You know... The sun and all...

I also use the shouts a lot.

I always delve my skills first into Archery/Light Armor, and then into OHDW/Alchemy, to transition from Hunter/Sniper to Sniper/Assassin...

Khajiit Assassin/Thief. That's my formula. The Khajiit's are made for stealth, and I guess it ties in well with the lore, seeing as they are shunned as being troublemakers in Skyrim. I always stick with Light Armour and preferably a strong dagger and Crossbow. Keeps me light on my feet when I'm sneaking up on some guard

 

Also, the in the Story the Dark Brotherhood doesn't have a Khajiit member... So I guess I fill that spot

I've done everything, though I think my most effective character is my Khajiit rogue/assassin, being that he one-shot Krosis with a well placed arrow.

I started out as a Warrior type person that is heavily skilled in Light Armor. As I leveled up, I became more of a Mage with maximum Light Armor and awesome double enchantments on each piece of armor. :3 So basically a Mage/Enchanter mostly now. Enchanting stuff is awesome.

I started out as a mage class then over time became a vampire with blood magic powers so I could absorb my enemies health and give it to myself

Not a big fan of Skyrim, however I would choose either Thief or Mage.

I was such a Conjuration mage who also used stealth, sneak around with my two permanent Frost Thralls. I had Daedra spells but they were not permanent. I loved letting my companion Derkeethus the Argonian and my Thralls battle all in my way. 

Even when an enemy got close I had my Daggers to cut them up with so I was on the verge of being untouchable.

Anyways, if I had to choose one it would possibly be Thief. It's really fun risking getting caught sneaking into rooms, houses, chests and shiz. My favorite hobby is going into a room where someone is asleep, and take the risk of getting caught. Sometimes, I'll go into a shop, hide, crouch, and steal whatever items I can to make profit (or essentials).

Ahaha...the only time I get to play Skyrim is when i'm with my uncle...I must own it for myself soon.

While I do certainly enjoy stealing things and/or sneaking around, my overall favorite playstyle was a warrior/mage hybrid, the magic system in that game is alot of fun to work with, and is very effective when combined with the brute force of a warrior. Also, a mage hood looks totally badass combined with heavy armor
