I would rather we not mix universes here. This is a site focused on this particular fandom and universe, and while there are some references to other worlds or perhaps even fandoms, it would for the most part have to be seen as fantasy and not real by the characters. Can't have the cast of Star Trek suddenly show up, you know?

I do. He's gonna become an Xpony, where X is the last creature or corpse he touched. So that means, if a pony touches him right now, he'll become a ponypony. Better known as 'no effect.'

 

However, if he touches the spider/crystal from the spider/Syo/Last/Priestess/random creature from the forest, he'll become a spiderpony/catpony/jackapony/foxpony/(insertcreaturehere)pony. So I'm really gonna be looking at the next couple of posts to see what he'll become.

I know you already have a plan, but my idea was that he would see the world like it were a video game. Everyone would have their names floating over their heads, he would be able to see health bars, recharge rates for his attacks (which could limit their use), brief descriptions of everything if he utilized the option, his bag would appear as a menu to him, and his shape would change slightly so he would look like a character straight out of a Nintendo 64 game. It would be a bit of a distraction, and I would assume a little annoying to Renius. Although it could be a bit useful.

Yes, it's still night for us. It's about to rain in the forest as well. The scene with Briar and Charlie is taking place in Briar's dreams.

Out of curiosity, how much of that character's traits do you plan on Renius absorbing? Will it just have him take some species traits? Or will it actually cause Renius to take traits from the character themselves (ex: If Priestess made contact, Renius wouldn't just get fox traits, but her traits, like mane & eye color, some facial features, perhaps her gender even (gender bending does sound fun at this point))

I like this idea even more... perhaps. It could be a delayed effect due to the tiny dose. Now I have to think before I post. Hmm...

Was tempted to gender bend, but I'm not going that far because it's too easy to go overboard- I know from experience. He'll take on their traits as a race. For example, he would gain Priestess's coat color and head shape, but, say, in Priestess was an albino, he wouldn't be an albino himself. However, this means he will effectively become a pony - X hybrid if he touches a unique being like Syo, Priestess, or even Vivid (if this does happen, of course).

 

I'll read through the posts and come up with a solution relatively quickly, hopefully. Even if I don't do Seamore's suggestion now, I'll hold on to it in the future- this probably won't be the last time we come in contact with the venom.

Don't forget, Phoenixes live in the Everfree too. A feather could just be lying on the ground, or could fall from the sky at any moment. I like to look at every option. I have an extremely active imagination. I think everyone is going to avoid touching your character because they won't want to force you into anything specific. I can't make Seamore bump into him, there would be no effect.

I don't want to accelerate the dream story too quickly, as I want to have Seamore join that toward the end, unless you want there to be a dream adventure. Due to this, I will be posting for both stories at the same time, to keep the pacing the same. I will probably post something tomorrow.

Sorry for not getting back to you on this sooner, but one of those days yesterday where I sorta got lost in other posts and Diablo. I really need to write before I start playing games.

 

Anyway, I think Serenade looks like a good, interesting character, and like Seamore said, I ain't saying no to having you around by a long shot. For any help getting started, I have two options I can present you with if you want me to tie you in at least (others are always free to offer as well of course).

 

Option 1. I can have Stargazer meet her. He's a bat pony NPC (for now anyway) that's been transferred from the palace to Ponyville, and while he does his to uphold the law, he's not a stuck up, and he tends to let his gaze wander over the night sky at times too, pondering things. He's an older pony, still a blank flank, and while he knows the sky well I he doesn't know any particular formations (Mostly due to me not knowing enough, and not wanting to butcher things), yet he could still be one that could level with Serenade on some things.

 

Option 2. Since it's night time, I can have Omen and Ziggy run into her without ruining where they are the next day since they more or less teleport when the day begins. Neither of them are expert on stars, but they'll be more towards friendly and curious respectively, especially Omen will be somewhat curious about everything, but not in a judging manner as she isn't really in a position to judge looking weird or being something else, though what I'd prefer to get out IC eventually instead. As for the doc, she likes to fly and hug things, sometimes at the same time, so count this under the friendly part.

 

Option 3. Meet the larger, random'ish group at the castle in the Everfree Forest. No saying what will happen there, as so far it seems like we're loosely letting Seamore guide us there.

 

This is what I can offer at least as it looks now. Option one will be less weird in it and could give somepony of equal hoofing to speak with for Serenade, while the second one could go anywhere really, and everypony might learn something interesting.

 

Perhaps I should show the pictures of Stargazer and Omen actually, since they are both without bios at the moment. Hold on a bit...

No worries about racing it along lad. Briar is a talkative sort, so you could have twice the amount of posts there and only half the actual actions. ^^ I'll look forward to how this whole thing is gonna pan out for sure, though, might I make a small suggestion?

 

You might already be planning this, but when they are to ask Vivid, have them both meet up in her dream since I can't imagine there'll go too much in thread time before she goes off to rest and replenish her power. Likely the faster way since otherwise, it's waiting until the sun rises.

Another option is to have your character start in a dream, maybe finding her way out of her private dream and we can eventually run into her in the Realm of Dreams. Maybe she follows certain stars guiding her to a place like Luna's 'hallway' that she used to bring Apple Bloom to Sweetie Bell's and Scootaloo's dreams. Remember, things wouldn't have to make sense there, because dream logic is quite different from true logic.

I think Option one or two, with two being my preferred choice will be the best, since i know for a fact that her dreams are....a wild and unique place.

Plus, getting in quickly is a good thing.

Just have him be put into a situation that would involve some sort of stratgy. No major strategy, maybe just a broken bridge and his nature gets the better of him.

I set up Vivid for things now, though I'll let you decide when things will happen there. Also, if you do decide to go for her dream more or less right away, try to be sort of vague in what sort of dream it is, as I have an idea I want to roll with. Base idea is that she dreams of an old settlement, way before the more technological age of current Equestria, but the details I'll fill in when time comes.

Set up something with the *touching Renius* angle if you still wish it, though i have set it as an option to not force you if you have found a better idea, or will run fully with what Seamore suggested. ^^ Figured I'd remember it anyway and give you the option though, just in case.
