What was your all time favorite thing about S4?

In general, not just twilights kingdom,

 

For me, probably the amount of adventures/villains we got, ahuizotl, Mane-iac, Hell even rarity, and tirek were all great, also the action in a lot of the episodes really made me bump the show way past what I thought of it before.

Fleetfoot. Any time Fleetfoot appears is a 11/10 in my book.

 

 

But I loved the mix they had this season, with a good mix of slice of life episodes, and grand adventures.

Rarity was awesome! She is always awesome, but she was even more awesome in season 4. Rarity definitely shined this season.

The whole season-wide story arc pertaining to the keys was just awesome, they really pulled it off well imo.

The renewed focus on Rarity with her having more episodes than ever before was also marvelous, hope they keep that up next season.

Im getting a mainly rarity feel, also the whole action thing, Rarity and fluttershy are tied for second, doesnt mean I dont like them, I love them, they just are my least favorites, but rarity did kick ass this season

Well besides the risk of having a season long story arc and improved animation, almost every episode that season seem to based on an off the wall concept like Daring Do being real or Fluttershy being a bat. Also, each episode took a risk to try them, and well some failed, others succeeded.

For me it was the story arc throughout the seaoson and the action. I also liked how they created loss during the season.

- The mane 6 give up the elements.

- The princesses have to give up their magic.

- Twilight looses her library.

- Twilight gives up the alicorn magig to Tirek.

All this makes the show more emotional without killing off characters.

Tirek being brought to G4, they took so many of the things that made G1 Tirek awesome and made him an even bigger badass here.

Well, I just really liked how they took a concept and essentially turned into a season long arc. I can appreciate decent story-telling like that. Of course, it wasn't on the level of Babylon 5, BUT it doesn't have to be.

Well my favorite two things bout the season were 

 

1) Weird Al as Cheese Sandwich

 

2) The removal of the Elements of Harmony, they were a crutch for so long

Hmmm... I'm surprised that no one mentioned anything about the music this season. Season 4 by far had the best music in my opinion. It was so varied! Major props to Daniel Ingram for experimenting with so many different styles of music.

 

He brought us such diverse tunes from the Danny Elfman inspired Stop the Bats, to The Weird Al accordion inspired Goof Off, to the A Capella inspired Got the music in you. The list just goes on and on.

IT WAS THE BEST SEASON EVER!

(And not because Rarity was evuhn more fabulous than usual, there are other things)

Hard to pick just one.  If I did though, I guess I would need to say it's the possibilities for season 5 opened up with the "Princess of Friendship" bit at the end.  So little of Equestria has been explored while the outside lands remain virtually unmentioned.  With some of the creativity and storytelling so far, I'd love to see what the staff is capable of as far as filling in the rest of the ponyverse.

For me it was that way, way, waaay too short little chat between Tirek and Discord in the finale.

 

Two powerful, mysterious, male villain-types actually speaking with one another. And say what you will about the rest of the episode, but I thought that one scene was beyond perfect.

Really, for me, this season was awesome to Rarity. From get go, she was bound to be a star. Now I can't point out everything as I haven't watched and Season 4 since the finale and I'm running pretty much entirely off of memory, but (for now) let's just say that I have been able to connect to Rarity in a way unlike the previous three seasons. From her obsession with the tapestries in Castle Mane-ia to her strong desire to make it big in Manehattan (along with "Generosity," an impressive number, which displayed the music team's still unfading talent) and her role as an evil cloud in Sweetie Belle's dream of a twisted reality, all of Rarity's roles in this season were very good and each of her lines well written. All of Rarity's major episodes were very enjoyable, and all of her minor parts and one-liners were great as well. It made for an impeccable season for Rarity, and I'm sure a lot of the others in the community can agree with me. 

 

Season 4 took Rarity from being one of the characters that I couldn't have cared much about if she got cut to being one of my favorite characters in the show. I have high expectations of her in the next season.

But really, besides S4 being Rarity at her best, it has the least amount of bad-meh episodes out of the 4 seasons. In fact, it has my 2 favorite episodes of all time - Rarity Takes Manehattan () and Pinkie Pride.
