Also I've been using the GIMP for over a decade and am now so used to it that switching to any other graphics program would require a massive learning curve.

It's THAT (plus all the gaudy accessories/ clothing) that really prevents me from getting her (if I were to find her in stores, anywhere)

I have GIMP 2 .... is that the same? Or not as good?

 

The current version of the GIMP is 2.8.14.

 

Obviously newer versions tend to have more/better features and bug fixes compared with old versions, so newer is probably better. But the older versions were still pretty good. I think I first started using it in the 1.2.x versions, and can't remember ever being dissatisfied with it.

 

I'm looking forward to 2.10.x though where we're apparently going to get this feature:
