Metal Gear Solid has a very similar Idealogy. Snake's Father. Big Boss, wants an ideal Utopian Society called Outer Haven, and Liquid and Solidus really want this to happen, Solid however. Is the only one who doesn't want it along with the world. It's to end the abuse of Soldiers so he is a Well Intentioned Extremist. The Cutie Marks are Reminiscent of the genes, the moral of the episode is, ''Don't let yourself be chained to fate, to be ruled by your Cutie Mark''.

But Big Boss's Utopia is actually a Dystopia. He wants a never-ending war because he wants soldiers to be more respectable, what Starlight Glimmer is trying to Accomplish is making a dystopia.

Interesting so I'm not the only one who pin down Starlight Glimmer's ideology as egalitarianism rather than communism

Such a confrontation wouldn't happen in the premiere if this is a season long arc, which I think it is.

The promos have already given away how the town will be able to get their cutie marks. I'm thinking if it ties into a season long arc, it might be something like the question of where Starlight got the magic staff that could help her change cutie marks.

I've been saying egalitarianism too. There's really not been any mention of economic systems. When everyone's the same, you can predict their needs, so there could be central planning going on. But when you lack individuality, you lose innovation and processes like creative destruction will never take place. As such, you'll have a stagnant economy, that is, no growth or development.

I wouldn't say this episode will be an argument against egalitarianism, because I just don't see the show taking such a stance against such a broad set of ideas (Egalitarian ideas being the basis of modern society mind you, like everybody being equal before the law, and human rights, etc).

I think, to be precise, that it's trying to tackle the issue of erasure. Many people question "why do we have gender? why do we have black and white? we're all people" or something of that nature, trying to erase the differences that we have instead of recognizing them, and the two-parter is, therefore, criticizing that attitude. Having equality of opportunity is not the same as pretending we're all the same, which I think is the case that the show is trying to make here.

Like if a pony has a special talent for making cup cakes, if they get the the 〓 mark than he/she losses the ability to make cupcakes really good, but everypony becomes slightly better at making cupcakes in return.

I don't think there would be any necessity to increase anypony else's ability to make cupcakes by removing somepony's special talent. I think all talents are simply equalized.

Oh my gosh! Season 5 worldbuilding season confirmed! How awesome is that?

I really really hope we get to see what Saddle Arabia is like I bet it would be fantastic to see what it's like there.

Also Sweetie Belle and by extension the other CMCs better get their dang cutie marks this season because so far it looks like at least Sweetie Belle is getting hers and since the big theme of the season (outside of adventure worldbuilding) is that of cutie marks and how they affect those around you, I think it is finally time.

But yeah I can't believe we got another teaser so soon.

Season 5 is going to be freaking amazing.

Anyway, I tihink this suggests the theory about one cmc member getting the cutie mark first, that being SB, could possibly be a thing this season. I also think the S5 finale could involve someone or something abusing the map, which sounds very interesting.

 

In Conclusion: HASBRO, STOP RELEASING TEASERS! I mean... if that's okay with you...
