I don't have cable & depend on downloading the episodes.  Spent all day Saturday & Sunday trying to download the episode & then found out it doesn't air until June 13.  Haven't felt so clueless since the time I saw Taylor Swift's picture on a magazine & asked "who is that?"  (I'm used to not knowing who is on a magazine cover.  I asked because, somehow, she looked familiar.)  Sometimes, I feel that either it is raining yellow or God is pissing on my head. :(

Still, the teasers look promising.  I just hope Scootaloo's parents are in this episode.  It would put an end to speculation that Scootaloo is an orphan.

Here's the preview for next week's episode:

From the looks of it, Twilight will go back to Canterlot, and run into the ponies from the first episode.

Also, Spike seems to be in Canterlot at 0:14-0:16. Maybe they're from the same episode? Who knows.

I highly doubt that promo is for one episode, but several; at least the next three.

  1. The next is "Princess Spike", which is about Spike making orders in Twilight's name while Twilight is away. Spike facing a mob of ponies seems like the standard fallout.
  2. "Party Pooped" is all about Pinkie Pie saving an important summit. The bits focusing on Pinkie just may be from this, and there do seem to be a bunch of important-looking yaks.
  3. According to the leaked episode list, the third from today's will be called "Amending Fences". Time will tell what it will be about, but maybe it has to do with Twilight meeting those three ponies (Minuette, Twinkleshine, and Lemon Hearts) from the first episode who didn't like her attitude...

Not especially looking forward to the next episode since I seldom enjoy "drunk with power" stories; they're often so predictable. The Pinkie episode I can't say much about since all we know about it seems so basic, and with Pinkie, anything goes. As for the third, at this point I'm worried that I'm buying into the hype of my own speculation, because I think it'd be interesting to see Twilight going back to make amends with ponies she brushed aside before moving to Ponyville. But it just may be a bit too much time to dedicate to such a small scene, since episode 100 at least split itself into parts for each pony, rather than one whole episode focused on a certain group.

From the preview, it doesn't look like a "Spike is dumb/incompetent" episode. It looks more like Spike will just get overwhelmed by the responsibilities.

Yes, but the press release specifically states that he lets these responsibilities go to his head, and that he starts making up orders under Twilight's name left and right. As I said, that doesn't automatically make the episode bad, but it's not a premise I typically enjoy. And I don't have it out against Spike episodes either; for example, Equestria Games, as divisive as it is for focusing more on Spike than the games, remains one of my favorite episodes of the season, and I'd put it in my top 20 of the show so far.

So, you tend to like Spike episodes?

This trailer also seems to imply that more background characters will have parts now. It would be interesting if the Map sent Twilight back to Canerlot to make friends with those ponies from episode 1 who really did seem to want to bond with Twilight until she blew off Moon Dancer's birthday party invite.

So, no preview clips tonight, huh? They usually release something a day or two before the episode airs. It's a shame, I want to see something to get me pumped for tomorrow. I've already made the mistake of presuming I won't enjoy the episode based on what we know of the plot, because I already have a firm idea on how it will all play out, save one element I'm not wholly sure will be in the episode, but if it is, then it may just get my interest..

Well, I wound up enjoying the episode more than I expected. I wasn't looking forward to it not because it was a Spike episode, but because it was an "abuse of power" episode, and they usually tend to bore me. But I think the episode's pacing made up for it so I didn't mind the cliches that are normally associated with it.

I guess this also means Twilight's little reunion will be part of another episode after all.

New episode looks like it's going to be good. It's written by GM Berrow, and she's awesome at writing Pinkie Pie in the books!

Afraid not. I know G.M. Berrow is confirmed to have written a Pinkie Pie episode, but it's also been confirmed that this week's episode is written by another newcomer, Nick Confalone (who is also confirmed to be writing another Pinkie episode about her whole family). We'll have to wait a little longer for the Berrow episode.

Oh, I thought GM Berrow was writing this week's episode. My mistake. Hopefully this newcomer is good.

All we want is Season 5 throughout the whole Summer NOT a hiatus for the Summer, it's quite that simple! I mean, we hate hiatuses right?

Yes, but assuming we have a new episode every week from now on, we'd be getting a Chris... er, Hearth's Warming Eve episode in September. But every holiday themed episode has aired close to their real-life counterpart:

  • Luna Eclipsed (Nightmare Night): October 22 (9 days before Halloween)
  • Hearth's Warming Eve: December 17 (8 days before Christmas)
  • Hearts and Hooves Day: February 11 (3 days before Valentine's Day)

According to the leaked episode list, Episode 21 will be titled Hearthbreakers, which seems like a pretty damn likely candidate for our Hearth's Warming episode. The closest Saturday to Christmas this year will be December 19. Meanwhile, Episode 15 will be called Scare-Master, which I'm going out on a limb to say it will be a Nightmare Night episode. Now, let's suppose Episode 21 will air on December 19 at the latest. If we were to have an episode every week leading up to it, that would put Episode 15 on November 7. But we all know that each season has breaks and rearrangements in from production to broadcast order. All it would take is a single week break in this time frame to bump Episode 15 to an October 31 release, just in time for Halloween.

But you know something else? This year, October 10--the fifth-year anniversary of MLP:FIM--will be on a Saturday. If Episode 15 is going to make its presumed Halloween date, then I predict that a 3-month hiatus will begin after either Episode 12 or 13. (If it's the former, then Episode 15 will probably air on October 24).

I can't say this with any shred of certainty...but we'd better brace ourselves for a mini pony drought. And considering Episode 13 (Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?) is supposedly going to be the long-awaited "Princess Luna has a nightmare" episode, I pray it won't begin before that.

Anyone else notice the distinct lack of information on these latest two episodes (the ones right after episode 100) as well as next to no information on what's coming next after Party Pooped (like an airdate for the next episodes)?

Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end.

Yeah.  I'm getting rather nervous all of a sudden.

Good news! According to Equestria Daily MLP season 5 episode 12 will be about Twilight and her former Canterlot friends that she blew off the party invite from, from the very first episode of the series(if you read this, you were right ChrisDike!!) and season 5 episode 13 is supposed to be the Luna dream episode!

The next couple of episodes should be very interesting, but more importantly the fear of another break due to lack of information about certain episodes has proven to be unfounded.

The middle of the season is within our sights. What can be seen beyond that? Myself, I see a potential yet unconfirmed Nightmare Night episode (Episode 15, Scare-Master) airing in July unless it gets pushed back three months to October, which would put the Hearth's Warming Eve episode (more than likely Episode 21, Hearthbreakers) neatly in December if we account a week or two off.

(For titles and episode numbers, I'm going by the leaked list that has been confirmed real ever since before Episode 100's title was revealed.)

So am I, but you are right in that we should not be getting ahead of ourselves.

At this point I don't see any major breaks happening unless they break things up to accommodate Friendship Games in October.
