the computer I have is called Asus and I belieeve it is window. But virus protection is usally multi-systems.

No for now you can get away with no virus protection on Linux/Unix and Apple OS'es because of the low market share for Linux/Unix systems and the closed source nature for Apple's OS.

Since you're using Windows, i would recommend Trend Micro, it's what I use. But you can also use AVG, Bit defender, or any widely known anti-virus. I would also recommend you dowbload/buy "Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware" in addition to whatever anti-virus you choose.

Well I guess this is pretty much resolved, but one concrete advice I could give you about your computer is don't download random stuff on your computer from misc. sites unless you totally trust them. Also whenever you install something pay attention to the options in the startup wizard (to cancel those "I would also like to install" options) or you might end up installing a whole bunch of other crap that could be potential malwares and worse, toolbars on your web browser.

I've used Malwarebytes since day 1. And let me tell ya, it is by far the best malware/virus protection suite I've ever seen. I recommend Malwarebytes highly to everyone.
